  • That's one hell of a tip. I find sometimes that my home button gets very slow and unresponsive when I use it to wake the phone. Does anyone else have that problem?

  • "force kill or force quit"? I see the stocks app still running when your multi tasking bar pops up.

  • amazing thanks man !!!!

  • this doesnt work you are full of shit the only reason the home button is a little slow is because of well used or you need to update you iphone

  • Placebo

  • it even worked on my ipad2

  • perfect!!!!

  • wow this works great now i don't have to force down my home button

  • Worked!

  • does this hold true for the iPad 2?

  • @Chipmunkmasterboi

yes, i tried it and it worked

  • Oh god!

many people say it's work, many people get home button issue...

    fail!!!

in the iPhone manual you can find "Force an app to close."

it same way video have done. Nothing say about calibrate home button (-_-' )

home button lag responsive cause of software lag of responding

it just force to close method, no reason to say "Recalibrate Your iPhone's Home Button", Are you joke?

  • Worked for me .

  • sheep never cease to amaze me

  • hmm doesnt work

  • this doesn't do shit.. the only thing that will make your home button more sensitive is taking off the glass / screen and cleaning the area under the rubber button pad, it's full of finger grease and grime that's why it's less sensitive and harder to press.

  • @itsumonihon It does do shit. The problem is from it not sending correct signals to perform actions and this wakes it up and gets it going again by sending a "boost" signal to perform actions with the home button.

  • @itsumonihon it work for me :) i would recoment washing your hands more often to fix your problem? maybe

  • Really ? again this hoax

  • OH MAN!!!

    It workED

    thanks

  • thanks it really works!!

  • How can there be so many stupid people?

  • it realy works thx :)

  • Thanks! It really does work!

  • Thanks a lot! Works amazing! :)

  • it really works.. thank you

  • Thanks شكرا لك

  • can anyone explain the reason behind how this helps the home button.....??

  • DROID :)

  • Nope, nothing happens holding down the home button. Just sits there until the power off times out.

  • What the fuck.. all this does is technically kill an application. I've been doing this since the iPhone 3G. This doesn't do SHIT to your home button. How do some of you people get through daily life being so slap-ass stupid.

  • @Str82yoDome How do you get through life being a douchebag?

  • Thanks. It works...

For months, my 1+ years old iPhone 4 has been intermittently experiencing 'home button' lag issues, especially when 'double click' to kill apps. Sometimes power cycle seems to improve but often not. With this neat little trick, it seems to 'reset' the home button responsiveness whenever it starts to lag. Great... No more power cycle just to see if it fixes the 'home button' issues.

  • erm~jeff, thx for the information but it seems like it only works for the first time...I've been using my ipad for less than one week and after trying to recalibrate the home button, it works!! But then after abt 1~2hrs...it becomes unresponsive again~any suggestion for me?

  • nice! it worked!

  • my home button still requires a hard press or a circular press even after i did this

  • i never use home button

  • @mido3003 What >? are you on ipad 2 ?

  • @The4ssViolator no you can simulate home button function via Activator :) ..

  • @mido3003 i know but the ipad has these awesome multitasking gestures

  • it work just on iphone 4?

  • He did it like a boss ! Worked for me ! Thanks !

  • not only it fixed my home button. it made the iOS software more responsive. The ios doesn't lag anymore. thanks alot

  • BEAST MODE THANKS!!!!

  • It works thanks!!!

  • doesnt work.

  • OMG!!! It's soooooooo amazing!!! I thought there's sth wrong with my home button^^ Thx~jeff!!! You're definitely make my day!!!

  • WORKS !!!! My Homebutton was so shitty for weeks !! And now its away !

It works like on the first day !!! BIG THANK YOU

  • strange.. but is working :D

  • Thanks

  • iPod Touch 4?

  • @iOSRider4983 That's a 4S.

  • Bullshit! The only thing this does is killing all apps, but it has nothing to do with the home button!

  • راااائع شكرا لك

  • Thank you

  • شكرا على المعلومة

  • it worked

  • It works! Thank you :D

  • What the hell is this crap? The button is Off/On. One or Zero. There is no in-between. No "calibration".

Killing an application may seem to bring more responsiveness to the device (as it involves freeing memory), but it cannot calibrate a digital button.

  • @NeonGerbil try it yourself if your home button is glitching or lagging on you.

  • thank you :

  • Hold down the home button for thirty minutes, and a funny video of Steve Jobs pops up on your screen.

  • it works my home button make some problems but jet works fine

  • Jeff i want to ask you something, can you show me how u set up the camera because i'm also own a website about IOS in my country. I wanted to review some Tweak but i don't know how to set the camera. Thank you and merry Christmas .

  • Works great! thanks for the tip

  • How long after the need to recalibrate

  • mine doesn't work. Im holding the home button but it never goes back to menu...

  • You need a massive high five. Thank you!

  • Had no idea about this and my home button was being difficult. Thanks for the tip

  • Nice one- tried & worked on 3 iPhones 3G...

  • It worked O_o but i think its related to free ram

  • Always useful and very helpful,

    Thanks a lot Jeff.

  • works great on my 3GS, thanks a lot, Jeff!!! merry x'mas!!

  • Works like magic.

  • thanks jeff, you helped me! :)

  • Thank you so muc!!!

I almost cry when it's not work

I nearly lost 20$(in Vietnam) to fix it :))

  • Yes!!!!!!!!!!! Works great on the ipod touch 4g. I thought it was messed up. Glad it's good now

  • Dude I wish I had known this earlier. I traded in my iPod , for repairs at Best Buy because the button was very slow.

  • not work for me

  • this helped a lot. thank you

merry christmas jeff or myself LOL

  • it works ;)

  • Dude, a HUGE THANKS for this. The Home button did piss me of at times, the solution presented here, fixes it elegantly

  • thanks man, merry christmas to all of you enjoy the time with your family!:)

  • Worked great on my iPad 2, iPod touch 2G and 4G! Thanks!!

  • OMG you are a motherf%$"ng GENIUS !!!!!!!!!

  • Sry, but I am sure this is just pure BullS! How can you change the responsiveness of anything but pressing it? wtf

  • @TopMRide Doing so activates a small diagnostic mode that resets all the actions mapped to the Home Button.

  • @RobertCamaroZ28 Cmon, it is a digital button. How can you calibrate DIGITAL BUTTON? Digital button works or it does not work..if it is dirty, its dirty, if it is loose, its loose. You CANNOT fix it by pressing it. Yes you might reset all the action tied to it; however, YOU CANT FIX THE BUTTON. I cant believe you people fell for this BS

  • @TopMRide Look, I am an iOS developer, and I can confirm that this works, in a sense. Doing the actions described in the video puts all actions (e.g. presses, double-clicks) mapped to the Home Button in a diagnostic mode, and resets them. This should make your Home Button more responsive, but only if the earlier lag was due to a software problem. If the Home Button is physically broken (e.g. cracked, bent etc.) then obviously this will not work. This is only 2 reset the button due 2 software lag

  • Thanks Jeff, first heard about this from your twitter. :)

  • AWESOME!

never thought, it would be that easy :D

    worked on my iPod

  • superb man!!! I feel very happy that i subscribed to your channel...thanx alot once again....

  • it doesn't fix your busted home button.

  • that help me a lot man thank you very much

  • Thanks a lot, that top really helped me! :)

  • Nice trick. It did help me out. I always wondered why it would take my iPhone 4s longer to wake it up from sleep by pressing home button than it would previously on my iPhone 4.

  • Jeff, thank you so much! For MONTHS I thought my home button was defective and began using an activator gesture to effect a home button. Now I'm good as new! Thanks!!

  • must it be stock apple app? or any app will do? if yes how come? thanks

  • I was skeptical, but it worked just fine! It's much more responsive, especially when entering the lockscreen :D Thanks! (iPhone 4)

  • Hey Jeff, do you want to consider organizing your videos? it's all over the place with tweaks, jailbreaking, no jailbroken apps or miscellaneous like this one

  • 先收藏,谢谢!

  • not working on my iP4 supp my hb is dead ;(

  • OMG! This is awesome ! Works, become so much more responsive (home button)

  • Nice, works!

  • Placebo. I'm pretty sure you can't measure any improvement.

  • works! thanks! ;-)

  • thanks a lot.

  • Thanx ..! And merry Christmas :D

  • Thanks Jeff had this problem really appreciate your info!

  • Thank you very much for this tip. My home button on my iPhone 4 was so totally screwed and I was about to send it in to Apple for servicing. Thank you for saving me the trouble.

  • good , 我以前都不知道如何處理這個問題, thank you!!

  • nahh. my button's screwed.

  • v=Xg9y3bA0ByU

    try this also!!

  • Lol... Garuantee 95% of people commenting that it worked are experiencing placebo

  • Thank you, very much! :)

  • Can it be that this is only a placebo? I mean this is a button! Digital!! Calibration is for analog things. .. I can't test this, since I recently replaced the shit button of my 3GS and my 4s is still working awesome.

  • @xantilon2 I believe so. This is just elephant size placebo!!!!!

  • WOW DOOD I CANT BELIEVE THIS TRICK WORKED !!!! LOL man I even brought this to the apple store and no one helped me with the solution
