  • Please fuck bmw

  • thats the point of the car...a brute....and o know you have to work really hard at something? the fuck??? get over it

  • I don't care what people say about the GTR. The muscle car is the best value performance car.

  • This guy seemed to really enjoy himself for all his complaints about the car.

  • Horseypower? I thought I only said that! I'm not so weird after all!

  • actually its the gt 500 kr

  • who gives 2 about "cheap" instrumentation, hefty weight blabla... mute the audio and watch him smile and laugh the whole time driving this thing.... most fifth gear reviewers just GRIN while driving exotic supercars.... not laughing and smiling

FYI... Ford 5.4L DOHC was designed after the 4.6L DOHC... in which TEKSID (manufacturer of FERRARI ENGINES).. helped in the design of these engines... american EXOTIC

build engines, do your homework.. then open your mouth... fools

  • porsche and M, and on other hand Ford HAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHA that should say alot :D

  • English people whine so much if there car doesn't have rear independent suspension. If u can't drive a man car then don't talk about it. Ferraris may sound good but a V8 sounds better

  • @MikeJordHort23 i know right

  • @MikeJordHort23 umm ever heard of the ferrari V8?

  • Comment removed

  • that car is for americans who know how to drive

  • Go baby go.

  • This is a good review! One thing they always never mention in these reviews though is that muscle cars have a long history of modifying in the aftermarket. Ford even supplies many of these parts from ford racing. So what these reviewers are not telling you folks is that the gt500 has a forged motor that is rated over 1000 HP and that you can take a brand new gt500 right off the lot add a 8k aftermarket supercharger and in 4 hours have a 1000 HP car.

  • Man I simply love Jason Plato´s reveiw, every time he is so honest. Not like those guys from Top gear. Allways bad mouthing every car, that isn´t from England. And blowing every single little thing and fault way out of proportions. Jason is talking to your common petrolhead, that is totally mad about cars and that just like to drive and have fun.

  • @ham12388 amen to that

  • STUPID FKIN LIMITERS!!!!

  • no one outside the Chrysler Corporation engineering staff or upper management had any idea just how fast the #88 Daytona was, nearly 45-to-50mph faster than anything Ford had to offer.research my friend...

  • It was "Chargin'" Charlie Glotzbach who recorded the highest trap speed during those legendary days, reaching a staggering 243 miles an hour with a NASCAR-spec HEMI V8. The radical top speed was kept within the highest secrecy,....

  • atleast american cars are not a rip off you get what u pay for unlike bmw, 50k for a fully loaded 328i??? RIP OFF!!!

  • £25k in america !! WTF !!.. im movinggg outt !!

  • @blahblop123 $25000 = about £18000 full option has everything including 550hp

  • @rajaawad13 its more than $25000, it cost the equivilent of £25000

  • @blahblop123 sorry you are right

  • @rajaawad13 It's actually $40k+. Good luck finding one new for under $50k though.

  • @ultimateguitar553 Dumbass American iron smokes Jap crap and wienershnitzel on wheels anyday. A 1969 Dodge Daytona,Hemi v8 with some tuning, hits 243 mph, as fast as a v12 Ferrari Enzo, I hate fords and I'd take this over a river anyday, even though my 69 Charger R/T would blow the doors off of all the above in second gear. 528 Raw cubes of triple carb fury!!

  • @the934x4 My uncle has a daytona, and there is no way possible that a naturally asperated v8 hemi will hit 243mph; thats ludicrous. Corvette z06 with 505hp and a much much much more streamlined designed with only hit 197mph. Perhaps you are thinking kmh as 243kmh is like 140-150mph, if you are serious than i would like to see the video proof of that.

  • yeah... steal a car and try to drive like that... is like: stop in front of a police station and fire with an AK47...

  • I'd buy it.

Not because it's better or faster. But because nobody else will have one. And I think it might make me smile more than a Bee-Em

  • dude wtf is up with that gay ass euro style license plate on the front?!?!?!?!?! EPIC FAIL

  • i own one of these, they are so much fun to drive, its a grunt a beast and thats why i bought it. The suspension is a bit boatish but who cares, you could either roll up at the light in one of these or one of those hideous german cars.

  • @delzottoj ur right i was buying an 2006 e55 amg but after extensive research im putting my money on a ford after owning 3 mercedes i really really wanted the e55 but if you fart in a german car the wrong way the fuckin thing goes hay wire to many problems due to the 3 miles of wiring in the car.....

  • drive it like you stole it vaov :)

  • i'd take a lotus exige or Mazda RX-8 over this car anyday

  • It's a shame that it's only available for left-hand drive only

  • @AHMADF93 no, it isn't. I mean, they made a car for the normal part of the world ;)

  • @codenamecordon the Brits and the Japanese arent normal part of the world?

  • @AHMADF93 weeelll. no:D coz, the brits think too much of themselves, and the japs are just crazy:D in a good way, look at how advanced their tech is etc. no offense, if you are from either of those locations, it was a joke ;)

  • @codenamecordon hahah. It's okay dude. But I still hope that they'll make a right-hand drive version

  • @AHMADF93 so what are you? a brit or a jap?:D anyway, I doubt they will make a right-hand drive one, coz it's been like 5 yrs since the car was released, and in my opinion, it's kinda unlikely. but, who knows :)

  • @codenamecordon I'm Malaysian. It's above Singapore and below Thatiland

  • @AHMADF93 and you've got right-hand drive cars there?

  • @codenamecordon yeah.

  • damn this is a nice car! BMW's are for make-up wearing and ball-shaving city-boys, this is for people who literally get their hands dirty when making their living.

  • it may have a crappy interior and not handle that well but other things are fantastic and its still one of the greatest cars for me.

  • All the americans do to create cars is interchange their ladder chassis, swap almost identical engines back n forth between cars and only throw a new looking body on, and call it a new car... its as cheap as cheap gets... all their cars are exactly the same, why bother with junk like this? there is quite literally no difference between eleanor and this heap.. no progress in all the years of car building for americans from 1960's till now, cars havent changed a single bit

  • @enigmaPL Yeah, they haven't changed at all, except for safety systems (Crumple Zones, Air Bags, Elec. Vehicle Stability Controls), integrated frames, modular parts, and the list goes on.

  • elanor was a 68 gt500 not a 67

  • yah its named after a chipmunk named Eleanor. i told her that and she reacted like it was her car

  • shit show from a shit country that practices shit oral hygiene.

  • I'm pretty sure it cost more than £25k in USA? maybe I'm wrong :P

  • This show is like Topgear

  • This show is better than Topgear ! ;-)

  • @vanssssssss This show is terrible compared to Top Gear. Top Gear is the best and will remain the best

  • this car is a pig....big, fat, ugly and slow

  • @MilitantOldLady

lol what is good lookinng to you then!??!?!?

  • @paramorebean

in the front engined GT class? ALOT of cars...the DB9, DBS, AMV8, any Merc Coupe, the Maserati GrandTurismo, the Alfa 8C, the Ford's rival the new Challenger, the Jag XKR, the SLR...and on and on

allthough price wise, you get what you pay for

  • @MilitantOldLady kinda like european women? eh bloke?

  • @furah1

oh oooh OOH! no, even that's too much fake sarkasm for me...try harder

  • Is there any equivalent American car review show that slides in insults of the car's country of origin while reviewing the car ?

  • nothing better than cobra engines!!!!

  • always want to ride in my friends mustang, but never wanted to own one. Just disgraceful

  • a basic old school example of making a sports car really its a muscle car its suppose to big engine lots of torque

  • I'd like a go in this car, but Id never own one. The origional version was fucking sweet though!

  • i will still choose the bmw m3 e92 ahead of this car, because of the expenses

  • the supercharger whine and v8 roar is harmonious.

  • this guy is an idiot.... cheese eatn monkey!

  • from 25k to 40k due to taxes. Today, I'm happy to be american

  • @touge242

i actually wish i was, jsut to own this monster of a car, actually considering whoreing myself out and selling body parts to raise the 40k and then some for the extra mods!

  • cheap and nasty materials.....lol maybe the 100K that you saved from buying an overpriced "supercar" you can fix some of that.

  • @tksemipro In 2005-2009 it was a bit of a problem but after 2010 the interior was upgraded substantially. However i wouldn't say it was out of a fiesta.

  • Boys Boys Boys, Any production car is rated by Crank HP not RWHP. RWHP dynos are not all the same so actual RWHP varies depending on who tests it. This is the least expensive car with 500+ hp in the world. If it had all the things everyone wanted it would be priced with all supercars. Lots of talk about IRS. If you track it your could take advantage IRS, otherwise this car is already heavy, it doesnt need more weight. Take it for what it is, a brutal boxer thats a ball to drive.

  • American legendary ... American muscle !!!

  • Rousch tuned ones in the UK are better.

  • the mustang will never be better than bmw audi mercedes

  • @blackjack7154 Define better. For me, BMW, Audi and Mercedes (awfully looking cars if you ask me) are astonishing pieces of engineering and technology. But, they are BORING! They lack the charisma, the badassness and the in-your-face attitude any muscle car has. It's all about taste, I like muscle cars and I'm pretty conscious I could never beat a japanese or german car on a track. I just don't care, I want to hear the roar of the engine, put some good rock music on the stereo and just drive.

  • @8ulls3y3

The best explanation of muscle cars ever! :D

  • @8ulls3y3 I agree. I'm really torn right now between a BMW 335 or the new 2011 Mustang 5.0. And by the way, the new Mustang handles pretty well and if you add the Roush suspension kit for $2000, it just might beat a BMW M3 around a track. The stock 5.0 lost to the 2011 M3 on a track by 0.09 seconds in a recent test by (I think) motortrend. It's right here on youtube, just type in "mustang M3"

  • @8ulls3y3 you dont care if you get bitten in a track, you just care about the roar LMAO!!!!!!!! thats exsacly what a LOSER would say

  • @BBBBRYAN7899 I don't care 'cause I don't race. I'm talking about passion and style. That's "exsacly" what a car enthusiast would say. Heee-haaaw!

  • @8ulls3y3 BMW boring ???? Drive an M3 CSL my friend , I happen to be a proud owner of one........one word awesome !!! Although I must say the Shelby is a very attractive car Im afraid that I would always buy European....I like my cars to go round corners at speed !!

  • @8ulls3y3 Ah yes thank you.

  • @8ulls3y3 i liked your answers we are all different and we should respect that i would love to look next to my right one day in my evo 9 with some drake music on and look to my right see you in your mustang listening to rock and just feel cool about it just about us being both happy right

  • @8ulls3y3 hellz yeah man you gotta love the american muscle can't beat elenor, general lee or the metallicar :)

  • @8ulls3y3 You're correct to a certain extent. The E39 M5 was the badass to end all badasses. That was a German hooligan.

  • @8ulls3y3 Woah woah woah. I was with you until the "I'm pretty conscious I could never beat a japanese car or german car around a track." bit came up. Not true at all! The new Mustang GT's handling kept it within .09 seconds of the latest M3s lap times around a roadcourse by inside line. The new Camaro is a bit heavier and you can feel it but it still is a capable car especially with aftermarket suspenion. Not to mention the corvette and viper (both who made record laps around nurburgring!)

  • Comment removed

  • @8ulls3y3 Mercedes has boring cars, but also some Mustangs / other Muscles cars look boring. And how the fuck doesn't an SLR look badass 0o

  • @HeroMachine2 IMHO Mercs, Audis and BMWs may even make astonishing, beautiful ballsy cars but there will always be something poshy, businessman-ish in their style. That is what I refer to as 'boring'.

  • OK..so you can have a Cayman S or an M3...but you'll still get your ass kicked all over the road. Its funny listening to these journalists knock this car. If you know how to drive a fast car, then guess what....you can manage to go around the track pretty quickly with a GT500.

Ofcourse most of us don't live near a road course and 99.9% of all drivers will never get to use the handling of any of these cars, so the Cayman and M3 guys will never have the chance to "beat" a GT500. So there ya go.

  • I wan't the original Mustang than these.

  • Typical British "lets insult Americans" by pretending we are talking about their cars when really we are talking about them.

  • 04 Cobra > GT500

  • soooooo how would i go about getting the job this job!?!? ahah they get bank to drive dream cars!!!

  • love the car actually almost bought one it is so fukin powerful

  • My favorite sports car. Absolutely love that V8 sound

  • @Samos505 too bad you cant hear it over the whine of that stupid supercharger.

  • That american food joke is just pure ignorance, food isnt about sophistication, nor is it about refinement, food is about taste.

  • @JellyBird12 well, americans obviuosly love their food, aand thats what he was refering to

  • @Trevor10 Dont be ignorant, americans love there food just as much as everybody else.

  • @JellyBird12 well, statistics show...

  • @Trevor10 Statics show what exactly?

  • Who cares if the inside's Crap :--)

  • I love fifth gear, however, he really needs to shut the hell up about lack of American sophistication and poor interior design by American car designers. Its modeled after the Saleen mustang build not an "80's Fiesta". Please, if you are going to criticize about style, lets take a look at those spectacularly fantastic smart cars of yours.....

  • @Jacobmakub101

By the way, I'm not saying Brits don't have style. I have an Aston Martin...However, I also have two mustangs.....

  • @Jacobmakub101 hey man, he call's them like he sees them.

if the inside looks like it's ripped from a cheaper ford, then he'll say it.... he's a reviewer, not a ford hater. i mean actually the review was pretty balanced. he praised what needed to be praised and criticized what needed to be criticized.

and for the record, the inside of a smart car is actually very well (and cleverly) designed and constructed. not that it matters, because it has nothing to do with this. lol.

  • Tripleaaa333

Child please. A Porsche (notice the h) would destroy a pickup truck on any "twisty" road any day.

  • the whole world insults america i wonder why

  • and america laughs at the whole world, and then invades it, kills its people, and then laughs some more

  • why the hell to they always pick on the american muscle cars some of the euro cars arent any better, take porsce for an example they turn like crap, even a ford pickup truck could beat it on a twisty road.

  • lol yeah, okay.

  • @Tripleaaa333 Because these British journalists are ignorant and have their heads stuck up their asses. They also apparently don't know that you're not supposed to fucking drift around corners when racing a car.

  • @fidgetingfinch actually this guy you call a journalist (jason plato) is a world class touring car racer. he knows exactly how to race a car.

importantly, this video wasn't about racing. i guarantee that a smaller lighter car could out perform this heavy muscular beast around a track any day. hell, i've beaten one of these round a track in a nissan micra. lol. plato wasn't trying to show this, he was just trying to have some fun.

  • @Tripleaaa333 its dumbass, misinformed comments like this that represent the muscle car community.

    GT500 - cant polish a turd.

  • @Tripleaaa333 ahahaaahahaha sorry, but a porscHe will absolutely demolish a pickup truck and most other vehicles on a twisty road. I also love american muscle cars btw, especially the corvette zo6, awesome car.

  • he's dead on bout the handling, but a douchecock about the food!

English culinary tastes hmm let's see meatpies and ......hagus.

  • the live rear axle is there for one reason its easy to CUSTOMIZE this is the kind of car that a lot of torque can find a home in and then that live rear axle allows the car to find a home on the drag strip

in other words ITS AMERICAN MUSCLE

  • @cortazuma You're exactly right. I've known of people who had independent rear suspension SN95 Mustangs and put in a live axle for it to handle the power. Besides, Ford does a great job of making the live axle work in handling anyway. These guys are just ignorant.

  • @fidgetingfinch "these guys are just ignorant"

i beg to differ..... if they get to try out and review cars from all over the world of all different price ranges, i'm pretty sure they'll have a good idea of whether a car has good handling or bad.

what you've got to remember is that this car was built for american roads (i.e. straight roads) and not for the twisty roads we have here. it's not designed to be a nimble car. it's a great lumbering hunk of muscle.

  • lol such a shame.

but eh cant blame america for having no bendy roads.

  • what are you talking about?

  • He uses the car as an excuse to insult America/Americans in general as being stupid, simple and fat. Bad form.

  • i smell bullshit!!!! not only will they rip apart cars but they'll rip apart themselves as well

  • dude im american and i can vouch for my brother euros and say...your out of line son!

  • the Roush Mustang is very good and handles Great

  • another piece of sheet from america

  • I'm sure this car would be great with some "european" interior tuning,a board computer and a new gear stick.BMW owner speaking here, and yes I do agree with goodfella21f,BMW's out of the factory are kinda overpriced. For example,a base X3 is 2k euros more expensive than a Chevy Captiva full option ( 5 seats version,7 seats version is 28k full option )

  • er, Amercan cars should not be changed to European bullshit, (I'm European myself).

you're not gonna say, ow a bmw let's put a good oldfashioned American V8 big block in it with an enormous supercharger...

it's an American car dude, get over it

  • @codemaster667 lmao BMW with a V8 supercharged 5.4 L engine,I'd pay to see that xD.

Anyway I got your point, just saying that some features we europeans are used to ( all car functions on steering wheel, board computer and crap like this ) could be installed with abit of $ anyway

  • @AquadelicChiller BMW is going to make a twin turbo V8 for the next M5.

  • I thought the previous one had a V10.

  • @codemaster667 The current M5 has a 5.0 V10, the previous M5 (the 98-03) had a 4.9/5.0 V8 (depending on who you ask, it's a 4.95L).

Also there are American cars that can corner well, though only a few.

  • you could even turn this car in a BMW if you had enough $, but that would be plain stupid.

If I'd ever buy an American car, I'd buy it to have an American car. ok, the steering is shit, but we're used to that by American cars aren't we? xD

It'll always be like that, most Japanese and European cars will win, if there are a lot of corners. But in a straight line, that will be a different story.

  • It has a live back aksel which is from the 1960's

  • Hi from Flat Rock, Mi

  • the only reason I can think of why ford used a solid live axle is most of us Americans will use it on a drag strip

  • this car doesn't have an independant rear suspension... I'm sorry but it's lame... I don't expect a Lotus level of suspension sophistication but an independant rear suspension is a no-brainer

  • "car reminds me of American food" Last time i heard from people around the world is that british food tastes like dogfood.

  • Germany's about the only country in Europe that competes with American cars... and that's cuz they cost half a nut! My ford has lasted me ten years and it still drives like new (bought it new). If i'm a savvy shopper i'd rather drive an inexpensive Ford Fusion than an overpriced Benz. Ferrari and Lambo dont even count since they're just overpriced italian excrement.

  • Comment removed

  • @goodfella21f lol, so true. the amount of money for a lambo, or a lot of european car's may be great, but are comparable to much much cheaper american cars

  • @goodfella21f wow, that came out wrong. i meant alot of european cars are great, but are about equal to alot of american cars that cost so much less. european sports cars just come off to me as snobby aristocratic elitists, where as american companies provide great performance cars that the average working class man can afford

  • @goodfella21f I will admit that American cars have catched up, and a Camaro or so is very tempting, especially considering the weak Dollar (well, the V6 base model would be around 15,000 Euros in our money).

I will also admit that reliability "Issue". I wouldn't buy a Benz just because of their reputation.

But you have to accept the fact that different markets have different priorities - and one thing you Americans still don't get is a good interior.

  • our interiors aren't that bad, and unfortunately more Americans are buying ur expensive Benz because of the weakened Euro.

  • @goodfella21f "not that bad" isn't good enough i suppose.

  • i guess Americans are a bit more utilitarian i suppose, that's why our interiors are a bit lacking in sophistication, that's also why Germans are surprised when they see things like cupholders inside American cars.

  • LOL

when germans and japs finally came on the market, USA was out.

they are the reason you have no job.

but i suppose you know better than everybody else.

  • when germans came on the market???? german cars have been on the market for a very long time, even before American cars. and Toyota's not doing so well right now.. and that's my point, the only euro country i like when it comes to practical cars is Germany, everything else is euro garbage. and that's cuz i believe Benz and BMW are a bit too overpriced. if i'm a savvy shopper i'd rather buy a Ford Fusion than a Benz, even if i was rich. i could save the money to make my house bigger, lol.

  • No weed46 this isn't trash it's just simple ford has amazing handling and track versions of this car (roush, saleen, and more) this is just a mustang gt with a body kit and 500 hp

It's simple, cheap (£25,000) and just a fun powerful car

    Worth the £

  • Another american rubish

  • hell id rather have a cheap brute force engine and a low rumbling, high torque V8 muscle car any day over the light expensive import/European cars!!

  • american cars use brute force to go fast. German cars are light and fine tuned and precession designed to go fast. its all about what you want to do with the car so end the constant argument

  • And 5x the cost numbnuts

  • jaja you make me laugh why dont you all try the svt cobra and then talk all you want i tell you this because i have one and is great and i bet you would like it

  • American Cars keep staying with old school Design to keep the Heritage which to me is stupid

  • unsecure for sport car like ferrari and lamb but Benz and bmw is other and is a good car but the shelby is a great car

  • WHAt!... listen american cars are great cars for the money because is cheap andhas a lot of horsepower, like shelby, corvette, viper, etc... but euro sport cars have so much work put into it, handling looks horsepower thats why there so expensive, so if you dont hav a lot of money just be like me and buy a dodge charger srt8 daytona :)

  • LOOL?

  • ........... get outa here guy

  • first shelby is little muscle car you cannot compared with porche stupid europeen or benz and BMW and anyway americain car is much secure than the europeen and is true ...

  • LOOOOL?

  • sad that youtube too often turns into a one big argument.

  • This is the most true comment on this entire site.

  • @legendapoju22 too often u mean all the time its a big argument hahaha

  • fuckin fifth gear talks shit about every american car. if america made the fastest best handling best interior and exterior they would still say oh the porshe or the benz beats the shit out of it. fuck fifth gear fuck'em

  • @clayton1clayton1 well he was saying pretty much the truth about it. You cant just say good things about everything
