lyrically I think Royce is far more superior than Jay is. word play is about equal but Royce is more of an all around decorated lyricist and more consistent. But when it comes to the song Renegade, I think Jay was a much better fit on the track, both of them got killed by Em but at least it made sense with Jay, as his subject matter was more similar and relevant. and Jay didn't have a bad verse at all, he used some excellent imagery and had some great mind opening lines.

Nah, considering how close they were, I doubt it was biting. They prolly were collaborating on something that ending up in them sharing the same/similar verse. Two guys I know were working on something similar where they would do two verses with the same rhyme scheme, so you don't know.

The Royce verses remind me of backpack rap...like Latryx or something. He's insanely good on the Bar Exam mixtape, but I agree with the people who say that he's trying to match Em's style. The fact that Em can rhyme entire lines with lines and STILL make sense is what makes him great...but he hasn't got an ounce of Jay's versatility.
