Arnel Pineda is AMAZING. He SO deserves this. After years of playing in the Philippines and Hong Kong, he's finally in a position to sing to the world.
I like the Journey. They're all good. Arnel is a very good singer, but every time he sings, the audience is reminded by Steve Perry. Arnel is somewhat dirty looking, untidy singer. But still a very good voice. He should change he's style in performing and clothing.

Sometimes in life the impossible becomes a reality and this surreal phase of Journey's journey was clearly meant to be. Steve Perry is enshrined as the original and that is it's own reality and that will never change. Arnel defines every necessary element that completes the journey.
Journey will never be taken seriously though, I don't think, as long as they have a singer who does nothing else but strive to sound like Perry.
It's rough, but it is what it is.
Bands can't escape an identity, or sound, that they earned with a mega star lead singer/frontman. The identity is mostly the singers. That's just the way it is.
