...No doubt pendulum's music is fuckin' awsome but I think that when performing live, people are not interacting with just the music as they would when listening to a recording of the songs and so certain elements sometimes (depending on the band's style) need to be present with the band to make a live performance all that it can be. I certainly wouldn't want an mc talking through all of the live music I came to listen to but Ben is a keeper in my book. Just sayin'.

I actually kinda enjoy the MC's presence on the stage. I loooove Rob's chilled out attitude on stage and wouldn't want it to change really, but for that very reason I think Ben balances that attitude quite well.

@StuffnMusic Not really. He is using a talkbox, which is pretty much a speaker and a tube. It's very similar to when you talk into a spinning fan, it distorts your voice.

@a7xjani Not with a vocoder, special software or anything. Its a talkbox he's using. You can see that he puts a tube into his mouth. The synth is hooked up to the talkbox, which creates vibrations, sends them through the tube to his mouth, where he can deform the sounds to make them sound like he's talking.

So it's not actually his voice sounding like that, he's not even singing, just using his mouth and throat to alter the sound, which exits his mouth and then gets amplified by the microphone.
