@desireeT01 No. Hawks are federally protected. Unless you are a full blood Native American in a tribal situation it is illegal to carry any feathers such as hawk or eagle.

As well I would point out that a Native American from North America would know nothing about Yanomani traditions. The fan btw is appropriate. We use indigenous birds, not fancy fan regalia.

I wish to reply to an inconsiderate and inappropriate comment I have removed on here regarding my "whiteness" along with the fact that the dance was not recognised. I am part Yaomani and Cherokee but as well I have European blood. This is true of many of our tribal members who have intermarried or have been displaced. We are one people with many colors but one heart and one nation.
