Matched? Really? My indoor line, proud-ish snare section leader, has kids from 7th grade in it and we do traditional. But well played snare and tenor parts got dirty at some points but very good marching. We need to clean our show (9 snares, 3 tenors and 6 basses this winter only 5 in the entire line go to the same school)
@RockstarDaniel well many people (including me) think traditional looks better and they did matched well except for 2 things some of their left hand was playing in the French style (thumb on top) while their right was playing German (back of the had on on top) and some of their right hands were very high as in their actual hand was about even with the bottom of their sternum. meaning the stick is hitting the drum and making a completely different sound.. hmmmm i might start doing drumming vids
@chrishickie tenors and basses both play a variation of matched grip, so why can't snares? the type of grip isn't always what matters. music, execution, performance.
@treymason this is true but most high school lines play traditional and any decent indoor line worth their salt would play it. The other two elements of the line do play match grip primarily because they have to simply because of the movements required for each one to play their instrument. You need to take the time and teach yourself and your snare line how to play traditional and quit sucking
matched grip on snares looks so gay(dont get your panties up in a twist, i wasnt saying anything about their performance) except for now cause it sucked. lawlssss
Wow, The parts aren't that hard, lots of cheap visuals. The pit part is so easy its not even funny. Timing way off. I guess I cant really critique u guys though because our indoor is wgi independent open. Good show for a small indoor but work on timing and such. Give the pit somethin to play.
