  • poor horse

  • one question at the people that so riding.!

look you to the ground when you go.?

    no .!

so are you not thinking mmhh.?

    nice video.

  • and THAT is how you falsly teach a horse to collect! why can't people just have the patience to teach them correctly?! this is sick!

  • Wow, he never really tracks up in this video.

I imagine it's because he wasn't taught the first thing about collection.

  • This can't be good, right? I dont know how this works in real life.. You see that the horse's tail is ''dancing'' thats a good sign, but the rest is mishandeling!

  • poooooor horse

  • i agree. the horse is probably confused by what the rider is telling him. bc he pulls on his reins then kicks him at the same time. thats a good way to make a horse rear. professional or not, i think its bullshit. poor horse.

  • Does this horse breathe through his ears?

  • Well, evidently yes, if they are still alive....

  • thats terrible. that horse looks very unhappy in his mouth. bad rider! bad bad!

  • The first few pics that is not laurens van lieren with ollright!

  • that is a NO way truely 'collectred' horse.....

  • schrecklich... was für eine demütigung des pferdes...

  • @Wilano12345: da gebe ich dir absolut recht!!!!

  • how can that poor horse see? OR BREATHE?

  • ok i ride with a bit and we set our horses head, but it's perpindicular! not shoved into the horses chest where they can't see or breath! one of those horses was already overflexed and down, and the guy was still asking for more!!!

  • yes.... that is even called "the BEST RIDER"......

  • yes.... that is even called "the BEST RIDER"......

  • How widespread is this shit? My coach told me to search for Anky videos on youtube to view her seat etc. and I am surprised to find this nastiness. I don't like curb bits anyways, and now I like them even less, as they are facilitating this abuse.

  • uhh, i hate riders like him; they think they are the best, but they are actually the reallyreally badest!

(sorry for bad grammar but i´m german)

  • this isn't bad for the horse, the rider their horses so low and round for the muscles.

a question what are you going to do when you gonna sport ? i'm sure that you gonna do warming ups and stuff this is the same thing!!!.

  • part 2

stop with that bullshit that's not good for the horse and stuff actually it's examined by several therapists they all said that's even good for de horses.

this technique is lower blessures it makes the muscles and tendons stronger then with any other technique.

sorry for the bad grammer either i'm from HOLLAND!!!

  • of course I do some warming up´s, but hyperflexion isn´t a warming up, you should know!

  • I don't care what anyone says, this is bad for the horse. Suppling exersises is one thing- but this is overdoing it

  • this is not right at all! peeps could damage horses neck muscles by holding this stretch(becausr thats what it basically is) for too long! i think this exercise should be used for tonning neck muscles not held in for a whole exercise and it is totally unatural and pointless...and jacckass you cn mouth all you want but it makes sense!!

  • I don't believe this to be AS bad as the other documented video clips, being that he's not constantly spurring the horse in the side (I might be wrong here) and whacking him with the whip. But the use of his hands is unnecessary, the horse has no impulsion, is on the forehand, far behind the vertical avoiding the contact, shows that he is upset around 00:57, etc. Anyone?

  • I agree it's not as bad as the others, the rhythm of the trot is more intact than the other clips but he is so restricted in front that he moves like a Shetland pony. The rider isn't spurring constantly, but I feel that the uselessness of rollkur is highlighted in the corners.

  • Notice in the corners the horse keeps wiggling and changing the bend. (Can't even call it a bend they're all false bends). See the rider restrict more w/the hand while digging in the spur and clamping w/the thigh. Conflicting aids only create confusion and dangerous behavior (don't floor the gas w/the brake mashed down). What useful purpose does training a horse to fight in the corners, not keep a steady bend and get unstable @ the base of the neck serve?

  • I agree. The movement is restricted and I think that he is having difficulty stepping through and under his own center of gravity. His hind end is swinging out and isn't truly keeping a bend throughout his body. I'm sure this horse can move 100 times better.

  • Well he isn't as on the forehand as I had previously thought.

  • Yes he is, nevermind lol.

  • BRAVO nelsonreed... xD

  • Notice the people who do this are mostly woman. Woman also abuse their horses the most in other sports. Maybe there is a corolation and woman should stop riding horses??? Like the old days.

  • Have you ever noticed that it's mostly men who murder, rape, and steal? Maybe there is a correlation and all men should be in prison??

  • that was a reply to christian, below. what an ignorant thing to say.

  • Gee, did you ever notice that 80% of horse owners are women? I just can't figure out why a higher percentage of abusive riders are women. What do you suppose an equal amount of abuse caused by men would say about the male sex?

  • And isn't this kind of an odd clip to post sexist comments about women? Or did you not notice that van Lieren is a man?

  • you guys make this way of riding sound like it's even worse than the starving kids in africa, get a life and get over that rollkur horses win, thats just the way it is you know:)

  • lol minga90ame i love your sense of humour. And i agree all the way

  • Two very caring riders- hahahaaaaa - NOT. Because a Rollkur horse wins that means it's fair on him? Thats the equivalent of saying performance enhancing drugs are fine if you win the 800 metres. You sound discompassionate and unnattached to your horses and if I sound harsh then TOUGH! You are as single minded as the people you put down for disagreeing with you!

  • nice.

  • Absolutely disgusting. Dressage is about horse and rider in harmony, not forcing the horse to submit to your every whim. Overflexation causes the horse to basically lose the ability to balance himself, and is at the mercy of the rider. Sad... and pathetic. What has the art of dressage been reduced to. This is like a high-class rodeo. No better than horse tripping or forcing a horse to buck by putting a strap around his stomach/lower abdomen.

  • Taktfouten? Hij zet hem af en toe even iets meer op het achterbeen,en daarna ontspant ie z'n hand weer en draaft ie weer door.En wat je hier los mee maakt,de gehele bovenlijn.

  • No to compare to clip 1a! What you can see there is brutal and should be forbidden!

  • you guys make this way of riding sound like it's even worse than the starving kids in africa, get a life and get over that rollkur horses win, thats just the way it is you know:)

  • then it will be okay if I would give a saddle on you, sat down on and pulled reins as long as you wouldn't faint??? I don't think so :P

  • You're the only one bringing up something in comparison that has nothing to do with the subject - starving children in Africa, what is wrong with you? If you can honestly explain why this kind of riding demonstrated is good, please do so in your own words.

  • Just because an abused horse wins a competition does not take away the fact that they are being abused. Take my old employer for example winning plenty of competitions - when at his barn he would beat his horses (who were lame) that would spook, give them very poor quality hay and grain in small quantities - sometimes moldy, and so on.
