  • I just got my Mini 14 Trigger Assembly back from Terry and could not be happier. He received it Thursday, I had it back on Monday. Thanks for the work, Terry, and thanks to Nutnfancy for the video and for putting in Impact Guns contact info on the website.

  • I followed all of the steps at my own work bench and wound up with a SWEET trigger pull.

  • Just got my trigger group back from Terry at Impact Guns, and it is sweet!!! He received it, worked it, and sent it back to me the same day....a true professional and man of his word. Couldn't be more pleased. Highly recommended!

  • Hey great video.

I have a Mini 30 ( 7.62x39) after watching this will attempt to do it on my own

have worked on other guns. I love shape feel of the mini but

my gun will not fire Russian ammo very tempermental.. Whats your take on this problem?

Replaced hammer spring. main slide spring and such.

  • I sent my trigger assembly to Terry yesterday. About $100 for everything(with stop). And you know it will be done RIGHT!! I'm excited. I can't wait to try it out on the range.Hopefully it doesn't snow before I get it back. THANK YOU NUTNFANCY!!!!!

  • Love the Mini 14!!!

  • That jeremy dude is pretty intense..nah...he's a pussycat...lol

  • It takes patience to watch this vid.

  • I spoke to Terry yesterday and I'm sending him my trigger for the same mod. Can't wait!

  • The key to any trigger job is 1st, knowing how each trigger works in each individual firearm and 2nd, DO NOT CHANGE THE GEOMETRY OF YOUR PARTS! as said here, polish only! dont remove any metal.

  • That settles it...I'm sending my Mini-14 trigger to Yoda!!!

  • Nutnfancy- Everything he touches turns duracoated. Lol

  • Thank you for this video, you gave me something to think about ! one more thing did you spray paint that yourself or did Yoda G do that ? i shoot onions at 150 yards with open sights standing and yes i do hit them, i love the smell of onions in the morning !!! i just love my Ruger mini-14 made in the u.s.a !!!

  • I love how you still say wicked. Im going to start saying to just to see if I can bring it back

  • Very informative. Thank you.

  • Terry G. with Impact guns does awesome work. I just got my 580 series trigger-group back and I cannot imagine that a better job could be had anywhere else. Thanks Terry!! I'm pretty happy with my mini anyway, but am very anxious to get this 'push button' hotrod out to the range. Thanks Lt. Col and Nutnfancy for turning me onto Impact Guns and Terry G. He truly is the 'Yoda' of gunsmiths.

  • Yoda g is the man!

  • Hey nutn im in ut also how do I get a hold of that guy to do my mini?

  • I always wanted to see a Mini-14 ever since I read "Black Light" by Steven Hunter.

  • I have the ranch style mini 14 and I've been giving it a more tactical feel ( tapco fusion stock, fore grip, red dot). I'm trying to find a thicker barrel, the one it came with is very thin. Any ideas, where i can find one?

  • How is Smell doing nutn? It would be great to see him in the project if he is not deployed.

  • Not boring at all Nutn........love these videos. And a thanks to Terry G for allowing you to document and post his work.

  • Fail: Full auto is awesome.

  • when i get my mini 14 im gonna put a few magazines through it then pack it up and send it to terry.

  • Fantastic gunsmithing vids with Terry Yoda G. Keep em coming!

  • i watched this 7 times since it came out not boring at all

  • Lol... Karrbean

  • hey nutn, im 14 and was wondering if i should get a mini14 in 5.56x45 NATO for my first gun

  • @superassassin47 i wouldnt a bolt action 22 will be your best bet because it will teach you basic marksmanship and gun safety for less than half the price

  • @crfwhiplash433 true, but i never said i have never shot a gun im pretty accurate with AKs ARs .45s and most 9s and to answer this i lreeady went and got a glock 17 by me i mean my dad

  • It´s about time to turn the mat on the bench around or replace it. Even more when thousands of people watching.

  • Hey Nutn, If you don't mind me asking, what optic is that on the mini in the shooting segments? Btw awesome duracoat job.

  • Hi NutnFancy, What Optics are you using?

  • Well the first thing to do if and when I get one. Great vid, thanks!!!

  • Thanks for the info . i love my mini 14 and plan on sending the trigger group to Terry. I would love to own an AR but i live in the peoples republic of new york city where they are constantly trying to take away our second ammendment rights..I guess i have to move somewhere where our freedoms are still respected.

  • nice rolex yoda

  • IT"s a great video. when will you do a video on the accustrut? Do you think it makes a difference with the new barrel?

  • @EQ1776 He said in another video he doesnt like it, the increase in accuracy isnt enough to be worth the excess in weight.

  • I don't understand why you'd pick a mini-14 over an ar platform rifle. The ar is more accurate more modular and combat tried and true. mini-14 isn't. infact its made by ruger which makes OK firearms.

  • @mrmaddie29 The AR is indeed more accurate than the Mini-14, but not by much. The AR is battle proven as you correctly point out but, if they are not properly maintained, the AR will jam before the Mini-14. All in all I would agree with your points however each has its niche. The AR is a tad more accurate and the Mini is a bit more reliable. I own both and would not give up either one because they are both fantastic weapons in my opinion.

  • The day after Nutn posted this video I sent my Mini-14 trigger group off to Terry for the trigger job. A week later I got it back with a 2.5-pound trigger that breaks like a thin glass rod dipped in liquid nitrogen and and overtravel stop screw. Terry is the nicest guy you'd ever want to talk to on the phone and his work is top notch. Thanks Terry, and thanks Nutnfancy!

  • Superior video...

I just bought a mini 14 Target Model and the trigger on it is a pain. Thanks for giving me hope.

  • I would SO mess that up! :)

I want a Mini 14 really bad........I mean REALLY bad!!!! Wheres the cheapest around NutN? I saw a few at Buds Guns for $680 ??????

  • skoal berry blend

  • Wow. Great video. Just enough information to make you dangerous.

  • Wow. Great video. Just enough information to make you dangerous.

  • lol this is one of those videos were every1 is having a real intense discussion or argument in the comments xD

  • It's really interesting to see the craftsman at work so great upload Nutnfancy. Wish the military would let us modify our service weapons but no....paperwork

  • After watching this and the Taurus PT1911 trigger job vid, I was wondering was wondering what Nutn's thoughts on a trigger job on his Kel-tec PF9 are, if he thinks it would we worth while assuming Terry G could do it or if there's not enough that could done to the PF9 to make it worth the cost of doing and if the fact that it's double action only would have anything to do with it?

  • Ok, I REALLY want to get this for my Mini-30.!!! Unfortunately I live in the boonies and the nearest gunsmith is 3hrs drive away, and on top of that their rep is questionable. Can I just send off my trigger to him?

  • @Casparado1 Absolutely, just give them a call. -- Veri

  • @nutnfancy great video im glad i came across it. question though would it be good practice just to stone polish the steps on the trigger without grinding the notch. would tha in itself lessen the friction

    cheers

  • @nutnfancy

Now I know you hangout at Impact Guns alot... But would you rather have Terry or Bill Springfield do the work? I live in Georgia and honestly... Most gun smiths here are VERY questionable...

  • @Casparado1 you can do this yourself i did after watching this once......no skills ...very easy and did not loose 65.00 to it........

  • what were the ranges on the groups that hit the neck area?

  • Not Boring At All...

  • @YuJinLong If youre being sarcastic, find a new video, and if you are being serious, i know, its really interesting to me.

  • @Kylef7735

Dear Kylf7735, not being sarcastic in the least. I love watching a master work, if you slow down & take the time, you always learn something valuable.

"Yoda G" is very, very good...NOTHING BORING about it at all... ;-)

  • @YuJinLong I hope there will be more gunsmith videos with Yoda in the future. They are great.

  • @Kylef7735

Dear Kylf7735, I would most certainly like to see more of Yoda G's master craftsmanship shown on YouTube. Records of those with rare skills absolutely should be preserved. We need a whole lot more of the "Craftsmanship" mind set...and a whole lot less of 'The Disposable Society' ways of thinking...

  • @YuJinLong That is a great comment my friend.

  • @Kylef7735,

Right Back At You My Friend.

Let's preserve ALL that is good...

  • @YuJinLong And lets bring back what was good, but is now bad.

  • Awesome,

Does he need the whole rifle, or can you just send in the trigger group?

  • I love these trigger job videos.

  • I like your show when you have the gunsmith work done.

  • Just got my trigger group back from Terry and I couldn't be happier . My Mini-30's trigger feels nearly as crisp as that of a bolt-action . Thanks Terry and Impact arms , hope to do business again soon .

  • @shley65 what was the turn around?

  • @MisterAvis about ten days, and that was during the fourth of july holiday

  • I sent my mini 14 trigger to Terry to get the same service done. I just got it back, so I took it to the range and could not believe the results. I now have a Mini 14 with a smooth, crisp trigger that is 100 times more fun to shoot. Thanks Terry for the awesome job and thanks to Nutnfancy for posting this video.

  • love the trigger job vids, where is the J frame video?

  • Once mine is paid off, I need to find out how much it is to include the trigger stop

  • I must have this!!!!!

  • Hey terry! Thanks for my trigger job I love it like no other! Again thank you master yoda!

  • man, if only santa's workshop was like this!

  • wicked man.CANADA LOVES FANCY NUTTINS.

  • Seems like a very cool guy. Appreciated seeing the work that goes into a trigger job. Technical videos are always appreciated!

  • waw what skill

  • outstanding nut

  • love this vid keep em coming like this

  • Yay! Utah!..... boo ogden :(

  • cool!

  • If he is not confident his AR will run fine with Wolf of Silver, maybe he needs to pick a better AR.

  • I have been eye balling a 7mm rem mag model 700 but i am interested in a trigger job by terry "Yoda" G. if you have some more it would be awesome i love watching these.

  • is the mini 14 literaly a mini M-14?

  • @Pier2pie Yeah... its just smaller... the same Garand action just in a smaller package

  • as soon as I get back stateside, I'm sending him my trigger assembly.

  • they should do some sound proofing that room for terry. The range sounds close

  • nutn has to have a private plane with all the traveling he does otherwise all his time would be spent driving! cool vid any ways i will probably get a mini for my first real rifle its a great looking gun based on my favorite rifles ye olde Garand and the M-14 back from when guns were steel and walnut and you could beat the poo out of some water melons

  • Got a mini-14 for my 15th birthday (6 years ago). Best gift I have ever received.

  • Hey I'm trying to buy a .223 rifle. Is their any rifle that is better than the Mini14 for around the same price?

Sorry I don't know much about rifles.

  • @NickDenning3 For the same money as a mini? that would be hard to do. You have to be careful buying used, because some people have wierd ideas about how to break in a barrel. If your going to buy new, get a laminated stock. The plastic stocks make the rifle kinda front heavy in my opinion. If you get a book on how to bed a NM M-14 alot of the bedding techniques directly transfer to the mini.

  • @NickDenning3 Check out the Kel Tec SU-16C series of vids by Nutnfancy, he speaks very highly of them and compares them directly to the Mini-14s.

  • P.S. Yoda G is rockin a SWEEEEET Breitling watch. Now THAT is not cheap! you know how many ARs you could get from pawning that bad boy???

  • Speaking of dropping a selector switch in.. Have you ever bump fired?

  • uuuhhhh....what? i dont know whats more impressive: that someone figured out how to designed a trigger mechanism like this one or that this dude can manipulate it to enhance the weapons overall accuracy!!! crazy cool man.

  • Fun to watch.

  • Outstanding vid... Please post more trigger jobs... 5stars

  • GMod :D hahahaha, that is a game.

  • Very neat, thank you very much for sharing. Always interesting seeing a master craftsman go about his business.

  • Very cool, you can tell an expert way he handles the parts. He has the touch of a master craftsman, good stuff man!!

  • To me, this is very interesting. I like hearing the old expert advice like this dude and the knife people at SHOT show. Like most Nutnfancy videos, I wish I would have seen this before I wasted my money (in this case I ruined a hammer and sear).

  • This was the first time i have seen anyone do a trigger job. Thanks for this great video. Keep rockin and stay safe.

  • im alikein this gun

  • still waiting for that M1A review

  • excellent and informative

  • Very nice details while watching Terry. Awesome inside scope on how a Gunsmith works. Thanks to Nutn'

    Greetz from Germany!

  • Great stuff - thanks for sharing your knowledge Terry

  • Thanks for posting these type vids. Really enjoy them as much as run n gun vids. It's awesome to see a gunsmith at work: great artistry and mechanics.

  • awesome vid, terry looks like a real pro and he is also great at explaining what he is doing.+1!

  • cool vid dude. i'd love to see terry work over an sks. it's worth posting these vids. it shows how to take your rifle of choice and make it more high value to the shooter. thanks dude and keep up the great work.

  • can u pls make a gun review on taurus 800 series pistol.. my fave pistols are glock and sig sauer. i think taurus is a good pistol also. thanks.. i hope u can make a review of that pistol in a 9mm or 45 caliber.

  • i could watch him work on guns all day long

  • Terry just comes off as a cool guy. Love seeing the guts and how everything comes together to fire the gun. Really enjoy these vids.

  • Yeah, you'd be pretty dumb to try this yourself unless you already had quite a good deal of gun smithing under your belt.

  • **TYPO IN MY PREVIOUS POST** I meant to say that some noob would not be able to attempt a task like this & still have the gun fire safely, accurately or even at all.

  • This vid definitely drives home the precision & finesse that gunsmiths & gun manufacturers have to make the weapons you see on the shelves. Definitely not a task some noob off the street couldn't even begin to attempt & still have the weapon fire when done. Terry is truly a master at his craft! Thanks, nutnfancy, for posting this! Take care! :)

  • Great video, thanks.

  • you can also hear the stone when it goes smooth...very nice tutorial - MORE of this stuff, PLEASE!!! could not agree more on the full auto analysis

  • "dick it up"is a technical term to be used only by highly trained ordnance techs trained at the aberdeen proving grounds in md.

  • Go to the "nutnfancy fan club" on Facebook!!

  • Being the mechanical person I am, I love these types of videos! Thanks Nutn and a big thanks to Terry G!

  • now you just need to do that to an sks!

  • Love watching an artist work!

  • at 12:00, couldn't you just cut and stretch the factory spring?

  • Nutn I dig the gunsmith videos.

  • Nutn: I think that you just reaffirmed why my wife hates it when I watch your vids; now I've just got to get a Mini-14. She'll be mad, I'll have fun...but I'll have to get her some more jewelry. That makes the gun extra expensive...but probably worth it.

  • Interesting video. Doubly interesting for me, as that is the exact gun I will be buying in a few days. Interesting to watch the trigger job. Now, I might be starting to understand why people have trigger jobs done.

  • the accustrut works wonders for the mini 14 do not get the socom version as it does nothing as is more for cosmetics. i know that the new mini 14 tactical has a shorter and thicker barrel than the previous models however that never fixed the accuracy problem. i did alot of reading about it. and was going to purchase a mini14 this monday from buds gun shop great great prices btw. but i am getting the se9. thank you for you indepth review on it!

    -jayp

  • Truly appreciate these videos with Terry. Thanks to all for your time.

  • Took me a while to figure out what a "pop can" was. SODA!! :P

  • What bliss. Free to international viewers like me again. :)

  • Nothing beats his smile once he tries the trigger lol

  • Did Terry G go to a gunsmithing school? Where did he train?

  • Awesome vid, I'll have to take my mini up there.

I think It's funny (and a little sad) you always have 7 or so haters that jump on and downrate your vids no matter what it is. lol

  • No vice?

  • full auto is not accurate, but burst is affective

  • What is the point of a trigger job?

  • @DilMoKnows its more accurate because its a smoother pull. you also dont have to use as much force which means its easier to stay on target.

  • Mmm,i love a good cup of Shut the hell up in the morning.

Love you Nutn. Keet up the good work. (and i loooooove these almost behind the scenes videos. Nowhere else will you find this kind of content.)

  • Very cool watching a pro at work.

  • Nutn - These are always well appreciated videos . . . something very interesting to watch a gunsmith at work. Terry G. rocks . . . he is always fun to visit. Thanks!

  • could you just end your tigger group to him instead of the whole firearm that way theres less paperwork and hassle.

  • @dp665 wondering the same thing.. anyone know? thanks!

  • @kojitube was in reply to if you can send him just the trigger group..

  • I have had my Mini-30 since 1994 and its been hard to put over 200 dollars on just a trigger job but I am going to send my 30 to Terry very soon.

  • NutnFancy,

Thank you for the info I have been looking for to upgrade the trigger for my Mini-30 and everyone else that I had contacted quoted me over 200 dollars to get a better trigger pull with aftermarket parts. But with Terry's tuning the factory action which I believe its overbuild like a tank it makes more sense to send my trigger group out to him.

  • Hey Thank You for taking us to the Atelier, such a great experience.

I stil hate a little when the atelier starts relatingyour personality or the personality of the people you take with you (such as your son (etc) with the job he is doing as part of education LOL . Its part of the culturistic thing of the Ateliers !!

  • This guy reminds me of a wise old man on the top of the mountain. Really cool work, this is an impressive to watch.

  • 28 years! Man,$65! Imagine if you had it done 20 years ago,it would have cost about a 10 cents :P Great video as always Nutn . And Always a thanks to Veri(just because she deserves just as much thanks) =D

  • I like!

  • they have a shooting range there, what do they need a break room for? haha :) grat video!

  • Good Stuff Nutn! I would like to take pop cans at 350 with my AR or Bolt Rifles let alone a Mini14. To me gaining that kind of accuarcy out of a Mini for $65 or so is a great investment. I will have to ask the locals here in AZ to see who has Terry's skills and get mine done.

  • awesome stuff, any gunsmithing interests me!

  • i wonder if Terry G likes fixing mechanical wrist watches?????? A true master, very interesting.

  • Anybody know any good gunsmiths who will do this job in the Tucson, AZ area?

Great work, Nutn and Terry G!

  • Awesome video. Terry's got some excellent camera presence.

  • What about the HK 93 with a sniper trigger and a Ziss scope(ARMS mount)?

  • Nice vid,not boring at all.

    Gunsmithing is cool!

  • terry g's the man!!!

  • It is a pleasure to watch a master at his craft!!

  • i wanna be able to do this kinda stuff

  • If you removed the disconnector, wouldn't that make it full-auto?

  • @Slayermachete haha thats what it looked like to.

  • There was absolutely NOTHING boring about this video. Every time I watch "the master" do his magic on a firearm, I am glued to the screen. Thanks Terry and Nutnfancy!

  • Nice. I gotta get a trigger job on my AR. Your right on auto wasting ammo. Usually your first shot is on then after that.... well it is fun tho. But I'll take a semi and have more rounds on target by the end of the day.

  • I sent my Colt Combat Commander for a trigger job/hammer job to Terry G. He did an awesome job! Got it done in less than 2 weeks.

  • I have 2 Mini-14's. If your shooting video shows an improvement with the trigger job (and I expect it will), both of the trigger groups will be headed to Impact Guns for trigger jobs. I absolutely LOVE the Mini-14!!

  • Terry G is the man. Reminds me of a Japanese sword-smith. with only the most respect

  • The more the marry when it comes to gunsmith videos, That's my 2 cent's about that. Also great background sounds going on throughout the video as well. Sweet trigger job he did. Great video Nutnfancy

  • @ylism - My thoughts exactly!
