I disagree strongly with the wishful thinking in the claim that "science and religion are not in conflict". All religions make a range of claims about reality that are directly contradicted by science. Their other claims are not supported by science and cannot be tested using the scientific method, making them unscientific, and anti-scientific by default. The "please stop arguing" point of view advanced by the Center for American Progress can neither bring progress nor help with the conflict.
