  • it werid how weak they are on final fantasy 7 but final fantasy 13 there like the stronges monster out there and very big

  • aeris dies

  • And there they stood there, for the rest of eternity, Sephiroth destroyed they world with a meteor and succsefuly became a god. The End.

  • o.o oooooohhh you gotta error!

  • FF7 sucks, FF8 all the way

  • @ZnEaKySpyNL gay

  • @MysticDreams9903

FF7 is overrated. Its being milked out because of the advancewarchildbullshit. if they made a movie of FF8 back in the days, it would have been a whole different story

  • @ZnEaKySpyNL yes, its a little overrated, but, who cares? ff8 dont have the charm of ff7, in any of its aspects

  • @MysticDreams9903 I can agree on that, i just liked the gameplay better of ff8

  • @MysticDreams9903 That is because FF8 is a completely different game from FF7. of course it wouldn't be the same

  • @MysticDreams9903 They have their own individual charms.

  • I like turtles!

  • thats a big turtle

  • this turtle does look like Gamera

  • pff

  • Well that was interesting. thanks for showing. =]

  • Damn, a good glitch when i see one. SOMEHOW, my game froze when i did this and when i reset it, i was in the debug room. WTF? possibly because i cast stop then big guard on it and shit happened.

  • @drunkdrag0n

Have you ever used a Gameshark in the past for this game? 'Cause if you haven't I'm gonna do this bug again, and again until I get to the Debug room too XD.

  • @darthaeris I wasn't using a gameshark during the glitch, though i was at the point just before the temple of the ancients.

  • @drunkdrag0n

    >:)

  • That'll teach you to cast spells that you don't know.

  • fake n00b u loze

  • @delmago1 lol wtf? n00b? with 0's? and loze with a z? jesus christ, What is wrong with you.

Even IF you spelt it right, he hasn't " lost " anything at all, except some MP for casting Big Guard.

If you're referring to him as a " n00b " at the game, which means new to the game, or just really bad at it.

Clearly, he is not, by even getting this far at such low level is a skill rather then being a noob.

    Go fuck a fruit basket.

  • 8I

  • dam imagine runnig into this problem and not saving very often like me lol

  • @ultmgammer Doesn't matter because the game continues on after you hit the displayed button combination to exit the battle.

  • messing with old games

the best way to proove that japanese used to do errors, still ya gonna find an´ just about 20 years after the game release

  • That's... fucking weird. Cool find. *Subscribes*

  • Data Error!

    Nice attack!

  • The bugs were a big part on FFVII success, like the "Soldiers 1/35" or the fish near the Forgotten City of the Ancients.

  • is trur no Action Replay 2 V2 code data code

  • Data error, the ultimate attack.

  • You call Red Nanaki too!!! :) Whoo! *high five*

  • @Amybayme Me TOO! *High Ten!*

  • @aznsuperhero7 me three *high 15*!!

  • lol i tried this on the psp, it still works

  • Obviously the data error occured when you tried to pump the adamentine with more defence, as if it weren't hard to hit already.

  • some fights you have to win so how do you keep your level from rising?

  • @cytysonjames88 You keep characters dead and let aeris absorb it all for as logn as you can.

  • Double weird! When I went to post that last comment, the captcha was "friggin"

  • Frigging weird. Can this also occur if you hit him with BIO?

  • HAHAHAHA

That Adamantoise totally got what what was coming to it.

Ungrateful bastard. You sure don't get people casting Big Guard on you every day, you prick!

  • Oh I had this happen to me once. I went through playing for a few hours without saving and then this happened to me. I was so pissed off.

  • does L1+R1+Select work in any other battle situation or only when this (or similar errors) occur? I've never tried..

  • interesting and funny...

  • i have that problem, i haven't been able to fight throughout the whole first disk, except for the bosses... HELP ME

  • LOL I tried it works

  • I'm just curious... How did you know Admantoise was trying to cast cure?

  • Same thing I was wondering

  • Because with the right software, you can find out the monster AI scripts.

  • Oh alright thanks

  • I EFFIN miss 7! mine is too damn scratched... Does anybody know where i can get a new one????

  • Either by Google or by Torrent.

  • or if you have a ps3 you can buy it online and download it into your ps3

  • even if you own a psp you can buy it for there and download it, only $10 totally worth it!

  • Where? I cant find it...

  • playstation store lets u buy it for ps3 for 10 bucks but if u want all your data than get ps1 version on ebay or something

  • You can get something to plug your memory card in and transfer your game files.

  • oh yeah good idea, but tell him that lol

  • 9.99 on PSN if you have a psp or ps3

  • You know you can play FF7 on any disc, it's just that the FMVs are stored on seperate discs. Mine's scratched too, but I put in the second disc, choose new game, then when i put in the first disc it starts up. If the game freezes at any time, just reset and put in another disc before that part happens again.

  • Wow, wasn't aware of that. Thanks for the tip!

  • @MrSevenLung Yeah, I don't know if that's every game, but so far I've been able to do that on almost every Squaresoft game. Very useful trick if you have old discs.

  • LOL!

    WTH that was epic!

  • Wow, I remember this happened with my friend after he used a cheat device on one of his saves. Apparently the data was corrupted somehow, and that error glitch happened every single time there was a battle. Basically rendered his file useless. xD

  • haha i called red xiii nanaki and i also called princess garnet from ff9 garnet n_n

  • with nanaki, when you can rename him, I always call him Rojo instead on nanaki. why? dunno, name just popped into my head and got stuck.

  • That wouldn't make sense, story wise. Her name would be a total mystery to everyone - and then it just so happens MUCH later in the game that the one she picked was her real name?

I don't think there is a problem naming Garnet Sarah, but NOT naming her that doesn't make someone 'fail'.

  • Except it's "Sarah", not "sara". You fail.

  • It's interesting that the game tells you what to do in the event of a glitch such as this. If these were simply coded instructions implemented during beta testing and left in the finished product, I imagine it'd be in Japanese. I guess the error(s) was never remedied for whatever reason, so the text was translated.

  • Garland, can I post a video response please? My little FFVII glitch collection.

Of course, if you say "no" I'll not post it.

    thanks in advance!

  • Lol. Very interesting.

  • That happened to me once i wanted to know what big guard did so i used it against the turtle and i went OH NUUUU

  • I called Red Nanaki on my second playthrough..lol !!

Its funny in Cosmo Canyon though cause they say Nanakis real name is Nanaki..LMAO

  • Same here. Another funny part is when he said "Nanaki, better known as Nanaki" i don´t remember well when

  • You did the same thing I did with Red's name. Nanaki, lol...

  • Nanaki? Who's Nanaki? Oh, you mean Nanaki. Nanaki, why do these people call you Nanaki?

  • Lol already did this too ^^

  • Red XIII's birth name is Nanaki.

  • @DispariScuro I looooove that part! xD

  • @DispariScuro ummmmm wow have you even played ff7 if you have then you should know red XIII's real name is Nanaki

  • @MugenHeadNinja And if you've played FFVII you'd know that if you actually name him Nanaki, people act like they don't know who Nanaki is, because they call him Nanaki, not Nanaki.

  • @MugenHeadNinja haha zoom you missed the joke

  • @DispariScuro I do that just to fuck with the Continuity too >:)

  • LOL, I did that too ;p

  • i always call him nanaki now.

kinda tradition after seeing that scene

  • Heh. Nicely spotted.

  • Moral: If you have a monster with a move in its script, make sure it knows that move. :)

  • Heh, I just noticed that this video is featured on the Final Fantasy Wiki.

  • Something about this is very creepy

  • yeah, in sort of a "The Matrix" sort of way. like what if real life froze up like this?

  • Yeah, yeah, just like that. I knew somebody would understand.

  • Hahaha funny xD

  • man that happened to me before...but ha i didnt spend a decade researching it hahaha

  • Yay, you named Red XIII Nanaki like I always do!

  • first time i got this game i called him Red XII just to keep it original ^_^ but then changed it to Nanaki! Has to be done =]

  • XD I've considered doing that, just so that they're all "Who's Nanaki?" even though that's what they would have been calling him all the time. But, I have a different name I give him that I think suits him well, so I always go with it instead. ^_^

  • Wait, how do you know he's trying to use Cure?

  • That info comes from a guy named Terence, AKA The Godfather of FFVII knowledge. He's been studying the game's code for almost a decade.

  • so thatsa glitch then, it was intended that the adamntaimai had cure, but it qas remove, and then voila not all th data was comletley erased, or moved?

  • @GarlandTheGreat Actually, the creature isn't trying to cast cure at all - it's casting *nothing*. That is, the AI script doesn't have an exception for this event, so it doesn't pass a spell ID to perform. The battle engine therefore tries to cast spell 0000 (Cure), and because there's no defined caster animation, the player sees the catch all warning 'data error', followed by the number of the scene (179) and an error type number for animation failures (32).

  • @jbreckmckye The plot thickens.

  • @GarlandTheGreat Incidentally, did you know there's evidence that Ruby wasn't supposed to withdraw both tentacles when only one is killed?

  • @GarlandTheGreat

Does this Terrence have a YT account? I would mind going over there and bowing before his godhood.

  • oh my goddd! xD nice one!

  • hahahahaha, that's awesome

  • I just tried doing this in the PC version and right after he did that "Light Shell" attack, the game simply crashed. =/

  • i tryed it on the german ps version and the games frezzes for me :P maybe they have not transleted the data error or so :P

  • ha nice find.

  • ew. that sucks.

  • §½%#@!!! This happend for me while being in the arena (i had about 61042) it was on PC so it just crashed

  • Something tells me this was caught pretty late in development

    This is great

  • Now that is a weird glitch, I wonder why this happens??

  • If you cast Big Guard on it before it can, it will try to cast Cure. It doesn't know this spell, which causes a crash in whatever's responsible for selecting enemy spells to use. Game goes "OH SHIT" and locks out the battle, forcing you to use the force-exit code shown above.

  • @CidSilverWing

    Belated reply, but whatever:

The Adamantaimai Cure glitch is a little more complicated than that. Each block in the SCENE.BIN, that contains the encounters for a particular area, has a list of permitted attacks loaded. Cure is still within that list, in this case. However, each creature has a set of 'associated' attacks and the animations they use when casting it. Adamantaimai doesn't have a model animation attached to using this spell. *That's* the cause of the data error.

  • A splendid example of logical thinking!

The error message is describing "Missing animation" then?

  • @CidSilverWing

'Data errors' occur in lots of situations. If, for instance, an AI script has some kind of syntax error you'll get similar messages. It's not that the animation is missing, but that there's a list of attacks 'associated' with a monster, and their attached animations, but Adamantaimai doesn't have an entry for Cure in this scene. As to exactly how the 'error catching' mechanism 'works', you'd have to ask someone with more knowledge of the executable and battle engine...

  • @CidSilverWing

Or: there's a general "magic cast" animation for the creature, that should be used, but the game is never told to actually utilize it, so it detects a flaw in the SCENE, producing the error message above: a problem in SCENE block 179. I can't tell you off hand what code 32 refers to, but I've had the same message when I've updated AI without altering the list of 'associated' attacks.

  • where the hell is cloud lol

  • he's in mideel due to mako poisoning. read the description.

  • At least it doesn't blow up the game, eh?

I'll have to try that one!

  • scene: 179

    what? that means there's more?

  • good one man

  • Oh yes, there's more. I just found scene 65 :D

Expect a video in the near future.

  • i accidentally pushed r1+r1+select at i different point during the game just for kicks, and it restarted my game... i was so mad...

  • que pasanda

  • this happens to me all the time, its so anoying cos every time i go into battle to lvl up, i get a data error =(

  • why would you go round casting barriers on monsters

  • WOW Nice ^_^

  • i came accross this too! but this is the only serious bug in the game, considering its size, they done a fine job

  • i think it's because with a big guard that monster overcame the limit of the max defence level of the game

  • wha?

  • Damn you Scene:179/Code:32!!!

  • Eh,this is weird!:D Surely that guy must really know everything 'bout FFVII.

  • How do you know it's trying to cast Cure?

  • The info comes from a guy who's been studying FFVII's code for almost a decade. I'm not kidding when I say that he knows EVERYTHING about the game.

  • Wow that's awesome. He should make an open source engine for the game. That would be kickass.

  • I'm glad u appreciate the game so much, it truly was/is wonderful and will always be something i will remember till the day i die.

  • AGREED!

  • SquareEnix should make sure to contact this guy if they ever make a FFVII remake (which I sincerly hope, it's the best game ever made)

  • wtf? how'd you do that? lol.

  • He casts Big Guard on the Adamantaimai, it gets fucked up and tries to cast Cure, it doesn't have that ability, Data Error occurs.

  • Whoops, commented on the wrong vid! xD

  • I would rather have Sephiroth called by that menu "phone" and could trade anytime.

Cloud + Sephiroth + Vincent in my team, PWNAGE 8D

  • Adamantai's talkin' nerd's stuff. (I KNOW ITS A GLITCH)

  • Hahahahahaaha!

  • O Rly?

  • YARLY! :D

  • 0:22 is when it says data error at the top lol

  • oh thank you for explaining that i would have never seen it way up there, dumbass

  • You have to admit, the game is very honest, what with when you did the glitch the game basically says "Sorry, we dropped the ball. We appologize for this unsolvable test chamber. Make no attempt at continuing the game." and, like a trooper, you move forward in spite of this pessimism and continue on.

  • what the hell are you talking about??

  • beach plugs have big guard, not adamantai.

wow, i sounded like such an ff7 nerd just then

  • and that's nothing to be ashamed of >_>

  • Wonder what bug in the code allowed this to happen.

  • You would have to know what error 32 stands for.

  • 32 probably means something along the lines of "database script violation" or an invalid attempt at accessing a spell it's not supposed to.

  • Basically the system finds out that Adamantaimai gets afflicted with Barrier/MBarrier before the enemy's turn, and then does not need to re-cast it. However this somehow tricks the system into trying to make the enemy cast a spell it cannot, thus an error occurs.

  • Some games have many glitches, i mean look at Crash Twinsanity...

  • so there is much more behind FF7...

  • Game shark? Secret place? I have no idea what you're talking about. Please elaborate.

  • he didnt do it with a gameshark i just tried it too...

    D:

  • Well, at least the game doesn't crash on you... good thing the programmers thought about exception handling.

  • WOW...

  • I got one of those When I fought that boss after That fat ass Con Dorneo made you fell down in the sewers. Though it was due to a gameshark code.
