My dad wanted this case for his gaming/video editing computer... I though it was the same size as my phantom, even the UPS guy has never seen such a huge case. I don't think its even possible to fill it out...
I have a pretty big tower and mine could probably fit inside this thing still. That's huge or maybe it's just the small asian women throwing off my perspective lol
I purchased this for my nephew's computer I'm building for him before I go overseas so he and I will be able to play together. (I wasn't planning on spending this much on a case, but he chipped in some cash) Since his bedroom floor is a nightmare, we had to put it on his desk...to do that we had to build an extension on lol. It's a fantastic case though. A little flashy for my taste, but the interior is a dream.
lol They put handlebars on the case. Why would they do that? No one will be carrying this case around often unless they're daft. I also found it amusing how Newegg put the small asian girl in the background and the 27 inch height Desktop case in the foreground. Nice visual image trickery there.
Seriously though, excellent review. Well Done! One thing that should have been shown. The front panel slides down automatically and smoothly. Joanne was a bit too forceful there.
Good golly.. I know everybody & their mother's said it @ this point, but that thing's makes her look like a midget! (even if she is Asian/tiny to begin with) For the most part I think she's a pretty good reviewer, though did over-emphasize a few words in a rather annoying manner.
This would be a good case for the WWE's Big Show. He wouldn't have any trouble picking it up and taking it to a LAN party.
I like the design and I've always like the design of the Cosmo cases. I wish they would have spent more time detailing and explaining what you could do with a radiator.
I had a 932 with 580 sli plus a 280 phyx card. Man, that baby was dumb enough to bring to LAN party, and I thought my next case should be small and light, maybe use Lian-Li case. My first reaction one this fatty case was: SR-X and GTX 780 quad......, damn, it might have weight abt 80 lbs by then...................
I like my original cosmos better. This just seems like an overkill, sure cable management is great in Mk2, but I bet it is louder and "eats more dust" then the original. You should also keep in mind that you really start to get diminishing returns on those extra fans. Plus $350 is a third of a budget of a very capable PC (excluding the monitor).
@valeriy1987 exactly what I came to say. The Cosmos 1000 is still the best of the bunch for most gamers. I like this new one, because overkill doesn't bother me if it's not diminutive to the purpose, but I'm not a fan of Coolermaster fans for everything...give me the option of not buying them with the case. Additionally, if you're going to include all those fans, make a freaking power rail so that I only have to plug that in during the build. Takes care of LED's, hotswap bays, etc..
They used to be good, but I've had nothing but problems and they don't like to respond. Don't go by name or looks, I've had two cases with bad wiring and V6 CPU Cooler lights went out. They eventually did reply but it was impossible to get real service in a timely matter. My cost more than this one and I had to mention BBB before they finally replied. Which I appreciate. But still, Cooler Master if you want to compete again, please ramp up CS!!!
I have the Cosmos S and it's massive. This thing is overkill and at $350 way pricey. Cooler master support is also TERRIBLE; RMA's are impossible and I have had 3 reps lie to my face about shipping parts. It's a beautiful case, but as soon as the next one comes out CM doesn't give a shit about your last years case.
I could park my DeVille in that case and still have room for a server with two Noctua's on it. The thing weighs 49 lbs...EMPTY! It is so stupid it defies logic. What a joke...and an expensive joke. I WANT ONE...NOW! LOL
I have a RV02 EVO which I thought was the most beautiful looking cases out there, till I saw this behemoth, I think im in love. At this point I can't justify buying a new case, but man does it look nice.
I have just checked the price, Overclockers UK, selling at £339.98 which is $528. That is a lot of money for a case, it has awsome features, but the it depends if you want a huge case and willing to spend a lot of money.
@TheRealVerxius I know, I checked the US price, and it was $178 cheaper, UK customers will always get ripped off, what ever you buy in the UK, it's guaranteed it's cheaper in the US, and you can't even buy from the US, as UK charges VAT, Tax, all that crap so in the end you still spend roughly the same money.
woah, When i saw this case, I just thought this is a huge case, and looking at the features, this will differently be the most expensive case on the market, in the Uk it's currently the Obsidion 800d, this will be a £240+ case. Anyway great vid.
shortly after the original cosmos cases came out, newegg offered a pretty steep rebate on it and gave free shipping. i'll wait for newegg to offer a rebate on this before i get it.
i'm currently rocking the original, silver, CM cosmos case with the optional side panel window. a side windows would be nice on this thing.
@robthatguyx I think it's funny when people say that $350 is too much for a case. Video cards cost how much? And are generally upgraded how often? I've been using my original Cooler Master Cosmos 1000 case for the past about 4.5 years now. In that time, i've had at least 3-4 different motherboards and CPU's in this case, and i went from dual GeForce 7900GT's, to an 8800GTX, to a GTX 295, and now a GTX 570. I think other than a power supply, a case is something EASY to splurge on.
@darknessofkrish I'm just saying.... there are things i'd much rather make sure i'm getting something nice for. I've also gone through my fair share of cases... and this Cosmos so far has lasted me the longest. MGE Quantum.... Ultra Aluminus... Antec P180 (which i didn't even keep because it was an annoying case).... I've come to the conclusion that i'm less keen on the smaller cases, and i HATE aluminum. the cheaper cases just don't thrill me either, like yours.
@theElemDragon I was just remarking on the '$350 not too much for a case', in alot of cases I'd say yes. You seemed to say that it means it will lost longer, but a $60 antec 300 will last just as long. Now on the "thrilling" part you got me there, if you've got the disposable income, sure, the tempest is pretty boring as well, and by today's $100 case standard its also now lacking in a lot of features. On that note, there are now some thrilling cases in that range.
@darknessofkrish well, i don't necessarily mean more money = lasting longer, either. Just that i haven't found a cheap case i didn't quickly grow tired of yet. the cheaper the case, the less features, be it connectivity wise, or installation wise. I love the idea of the Cosmos II having two hot-swap bays right up front, which could be used as a BlacX hard drive dock of sorts, except it's not just sticking out of the top of the case, and works with two drives so you can easily swap storage.
@theElemDragon for what we see, we think 350 is high. we're willing spend maybe half the amount for a maybe a coolermaster haf932 for about half the price? sorry you've had such poor luck with mobos and cpus and gpus that required annual upgrades
@jbones1987 Well no... they weren't exactly annual upgrades. I guess i shouldn't have even mentioned the 7900GT's, since they were quite a bit before the Cosmos. Actually had the 8800GTX before the Cosmos, too. But the 8800GTX i used for about 2 years... same with the GTX 295. I usually only upgrade if it seems worthwhile. The only reason i got rid of the 295 for my current GTX 570 was because i got it cheap, and it's DX11 compatible, which the 295 wasn't.
For anyone who's interested in owning a Cosmos II, please don't shove the drive bay panel down; when the magnets detach the panel slides smoothly all by itself.
I didn't think of this until I saw this video but there are going to be so many average height/short people who like to have their case on the desk that need to stand on the tip of their toes to turn their PC on. I find this hilarious. They should have done like the TJ11 and put a power button on the front as well for short people I'm glad they didn't though because it would be an eye sore and I wouldn't be able to stop and laugh at the fact that some people need steps to turn their PC on.
thiis case is entirely to big get a grip if u need this much case something is bad wrong and no side window to show off the 4 grand worth of equipment we have inside we wana show off!!!!!!!!
I won't be upgrading my Cosmos S for this.. I do not like the front panel design of this. The whole slide door is not to my liking. I like the hinged side doors on this model though.
I am gonna wait until Coolmaster makes a nicer looking Cosmos IIS.. if you are reading this cooler master... get on that and I will buy it! When designing it think... "Super Car!".. it needs more sexy appeal :D
@wardog3d Agreed about the door. A few days after doing our video, we realized that having that door down blocks airflow, and having it up, blocks drive access. It should be a side mounted door like the original. But they could also easily go the Cosmos S route and have no door at all. It's pretty quiet.

If it wasn't for that i would definitely pick it for my next rig.. oh well back to good old 800D i guess.

For anyone who's interested in owning a Cosmos II, please don't shove the drive bay panel down; when the magnets detach the panel slides smoothly all by itself.

I'm gonna use it as a shop vac to suck up all those other PC's laying around the house.

"Super Car!".. it needs more sexy appeal :D
wardog3d 1 month ago
@wardog3d Agreed about the door. A few days after doing our video, we realized that having that door down blocks airflow, and having it up, blocks drive access. It should be a side mounted door like the original. But they could also easily go the Cosmos S route and have no door at all. It's pretty quiet.

I suppose Cooler Master is already the king of computer cases.
