Preacher Blues, Neighbour Neighbour, Jubilation, Maajun, The Fakir, Both Sides Now, Sally Free and Easy, Moanin', Fire in the Soul, Jenra, Walkin the Dog, Rif Mountain, Pretty Sally, Watermelon Man, Anji
When I first heard him in the 1970s via The Complete Guitarist, my friend and I just looked at each other. Our facial expressions said, And we thought we were guitar players.
Further to that, The trees album is called " on the shore" from about 1970. Search for sally free and easy on this web site and play the trees version( the one with the girl throwing water) on the album cover. Pure class! ...enjoy
Its called "sally free and easy". I have a version by a band called The Trees from the 70s. I would imagine its a traditional english folk song. Hope that helps
Thank you :) But I found it after hours of looking! I can see that many people has been inspired from Davy Graham. I think specially Led Zeppelin's guitarist Jimmy Page has been inspired by him!
Really, I have no method. They are just simply MP3s that I have cut up and put together on windows movie maker, which doesn't upgrade the sound at all. I know music used to suffer on Youtube, it would become a mono sound, I think it allows stereo now.
this man was amazing. thanks for upping this to introduce us/me to someone with amazing talent that I/we might not have heard of otherwise. im absolutely blown away by his style.

Awful, awful news! I am deeply touched by the news of Davey's passing yesterday, despite discovering him, and his art, only a few weeks ago. He was truly one of a kind, and a great inspiration to me already, and to a dozen before me, surely. Damn, I hope he's happy whereever he might be now.
I didnt know he had died :( Oh dear, his music lives on. He will have his health back now he has slipped into the ether, and he will play to his best standard
Yes, the tracks used on this in order are: Preacher Blues, Neighbour Neighbour, Jubilation, Maajun, The Fakir, Both Sides Now, Sally Free and Easy, Moanin', Fire in the Soul, Jenra, Walkin the Dog, Rif Mountain, Pretty Sally, Watermelon Man, Anji
search nicolas and the iceni vassal song. they write beautiful folk music which has echoes of Davy and the early folk revival sound.

I don't think he was an underrated talent, it"s just that it was a long time ago...
pettycur 2 years ago
I agree, I think underrateds the wrong word, maybe just under exposed because he influenced so many greats, but remained fairly obscure himself.

Excellent playing, and what a range he had!
The songs that moved me the most were the two between 1:27 and 2:40. I'm assuming those are Maajun and The Fakir, but please correct me if I'm wrong.
Knowing that then, which album of Graham's do you suggest I get first?
bleuroo 2 years ago
Yes you are right, indeed they are probably my favourite Davy tracks.
I would recommend 'Midnight Man' as your first buy, with Folk Blues & Beyond a very close second ;-)
