  • the people who wouldn't believe this they say that because

    1. you try to be cool.

    2. YOU WOULD BECAUSE HEY GUESS WHAT NO T.V BACK THEN

    3. uhhhhhhhh.

  • I can only imagine how freaked out the listeners must have been if they had missed the introduction and tuned in later...its pretty beleivable and pulls no punches.

Were all far more cynical now, but if you tuned into the BBC or CNN and had a serious presentation on going confirming death and destruction you'd beleive it..Great production..!!

  • Remember guys, back then there wasnt movies about aliens and the supernatural these people had never seen stuff like this before so of course they believed it..

  • genius! LMAO

  • wouldve been funnier if this was made on april fools day

  • The stunted delivery and focus on state and local procedures as well as expert witness aspect make it very believable to me. Remember, this is what a news broadcast sounded like back then.

  • I would have believe it myself

  • I can see where people would have believed that this was actually happening. It sounds very realistic.

  • you guys do not remember but some people killed themselves

  • @seancore64 Nobody was killed by suicide or otherwise... not in the 1938 airing anyways

  • @seancore64 Alright mister "I LIEK MAKING UP SHIT"

  • omg i just realized this was broadcast on halloween.. wow i can't believe anybody woudln't factor that in before they started freaking out. hmm...

  • @TopSideUp This happened on October 30th. Halloween is on October 31st. That was a different time back then. People were spooked a lot easier than they are now. Also that is during the time when the war ended and a lot of men didn't have jobs and people couldn't afford to put food on the table so I don't think they were worried about halloween. That is if they even celebrated in the first place during that time. Trick or treat didn't really become that popular until the 1940's.

  • @BonesAndrea u make a really good point. But i still think that people could have sat there to think just for a little while, i guess thats what people were like, easily scared. I still don't understand, i guess i'de have to be a poor american with a radio back then when information was a little less ubiquitous

  • @TopSideUp I know, what a bunch of tards, right? No fucking way would I have believed this load of unrealistic shit/
