@tiadaid Thank you for watching my #AirAsia X Video at London Stansted. I too had read that they will be leaving Europe. They lasted a good while at Stansted before their move to Gatwick. By a number of accounts it was quite a coup for Gatwick to get Air Asia X, but clearly the economics were little improved to sustain operations.
I think Lao airline is the best and safest airline in the world. We don't need to do any maintenance check at all. Any time before we fly we just have a buddha or a monk to do a ceremony or pray. Since Lao airline begun to operate 1990 we never have any accident or crashed.
@nyobnrogkevlwjsiab hello I think the aviation authorities and regulators would require more than a buddha or a monks ceremony before allowing an airline to fly whatever their religious beliefs. Thanks for watching!

From October 2011, Air Asia X will move to Gatwick Airport instead after the airline stated a 10% loss of passengers due to lack of connections at Stansted. plus the airline say that Gatwick is closer to London.
@JoeRoss1993 Sad to see #airasiax leaving stansted. I wonder if the deal at LGW is more attractive, I suspect it is. I'm not sure how there is a lack of connections at Stansted with the shear volume of Ryanair and EasyJet flights, let alone the handful of other carriers. I would guess that there was a good incentive package offered to them to move to LGW. #aviationvideos

@heywatchme101 thanls for commenting on my @airasia x video. stansted is certainly nicer than heathrow because its smaller and less crowded especially nice after a long flight. pity arent more long haul routes from there. thanks again

@Aviationnation10 You'll need a few hundred to spend at least - like everything the more money you can spend the better the technology. Take a look in one of the high street stores, get a well known brand, one with as many CCD chips as possible, 3 CCD is best as one chip per red, green, blue colour. The chip size has affect too.. I'd probably stick to Sony or Panasonic HD Handycams for first time.
Has any one ever thought of WHY Air ASIA and other low cost airlines ARE low cost airlines. @dougiecoolietrini Hi dougiecoolietrini thanks a lot for your comment, you make the case for why LCC's exist very well, thanks for watching and commenting.
@dougiecoolietrini good insight. But consider this; Entering late does not make you a medium sized airline like Air Asia if you do not have any market power or innovations. Air Asia is the first to include modern fashion such as jeans in their uniforms. They create a branding not just as a carrier. Second, there may still be competition. Developed airlines such as SIA are cutting costs to compete with them on pricing. Entry of Tiger, Jetstar, Valuair e.t.c are taking away their market shares
The difference between a low coast airline in europe to an airline in asia is that you still on an asian carrier are treated with superb service and respect ahiel on a european airline they treat you like dirt from start to finish. Air Asia, Bangkok Airways, Nok Air has better service and safety than many non low coast airlines in europe. I fly with Bangkok Airways two times a week and get something to eat and drink for free no matter how short the flight is.
Decision of landing at which airport in some cases are not the airliner's call, it has to be made by the airport authority of both original departure airport (KUL) and landing airport (LDN), also for those who know little about air transport safety, it is a standard procedure to follow strictly before the EU country ministry of transport would grant the landing permission to Air Asia, for instance Indonesia Adam Air was 1 of it been banned to enter EU open sky due to its poor safety record.
@khm8191 I really don't know what you mean about endangering people's lives. Air Asia and Air Asia X are safe airlines and like all airlines, they operate to strict safety standards which are monitored by all territories that they fly into. If they were unsafe would they be allowed in Europe? No, therefore are they perfectly safe? - yes. LHR is much more costly than STN, additionally STN offers other deals for new long haul and better slots. All airlines maximise profit - the yield nothing new
@khm8191 what do you mean cant afford there a muli billion bussiness they dont want to fly from there neither do there passengers and heathrow costs a substantial more than stn
@averredude101 Hi averredude everyone is entitled to their view, however as a counter point, arguably low cost airlines are environmentally better - often they use newer aircraft and have a higher load factor. It's a bit like with buses - a bus is only environmentally sound if people use it, otherwise the larger engine and diesel burn is more poluting than a number of small cars...
@trent8002003 Air Asia X seems to buck the trend because it's not a stand alone carrier it has the vast Air Asia domestic network which much help feed traffic. From recent reports they seem to be doing well.
@trent8002003 Actually long haul flights are much more profitable than short haul flights. Even Southwest Airline and Ryanair agree with this statement.
I would like to say my gratitude for your HD quality videos for this AirAsia A340's. We Malaysians are proud with the achievement by AirAsia. Therefore, would like to request your for most favour to upload this types of videos more.Thank yo so much!!

If AirAsia plan to have stopover point for flight to America, I hope that the stopover point will be somewhere in Europe, to bring those European to U.S., and COMPETE with Ryanair.

Hi there cardiffguy85. No I've not flown with Air Asia X, but from another website I read that they'd had something like 75,000 people book with them. I do know someone that is going to be flying with them later this year. Remember VIrgin have an interest in Air Asia X and they have a huge network in Asia itself so I think they are probably pretty good. Try Trip Advisor or "Air Asia X Reviews" on a search engine to get actual flyer views.
ok will do thanks for the info its just i want to fly from london to perth australia coz thats where i live and with some 1 like malaysia airlines it cost 500 british pounds but with air asia it costs from about 250 to 300
HI no problem. I'm not sure how the Air Asia X website works, like if it's possible to book str8 thru to Perth or if u book STN- Kuala Lumpar and then book the second leg yourself, but certainly looks like u could save a load of cash - hope it works out.
good value for money no doubt. flight was ok and seat is comfy. Apparently the KL - London route use an ex-Air Canada plane so pretty spacious; other routes use new Airbus A330 that offers has less room from what I heard. You have to book 2 separate flights and make sure enough time in between. Enjoy!
If you book with AirAsia, You have to pass through immigration, collect your luggage and re-check in. So, I suggest you to have 1 night stay in Kuala Lumpur or at least more than 4 hours transit time. Because AirAsia is a point to point low-cost carrier which will not compensate you if you missed your flight to Perth because of the delay of flight from London.
But, don't worry so much. Their on time performance still acceptable.
hi frequentairbusflyer8, thanks for your message. I use something similar to Sony Vegas called Liquid Edition. There's a few semi-pro editors out there like Liquid, Vegas, Adobe Premiere, Ulead do one too.
Hi globespan767 thanks very much for your comments, I'm pleased you liked some of my videos. It's always nice to know it's worth it. I haven't been back to Glasgow this year, but hopefully will do again, if nothing more than to experience the fun and bumpy landings that we always have!!
The tune is my own composition I use it for a few of my "Flying Into" videos, bit of a theme tune that I remix each time.
hi, Air Asia flies out of London Stansted airport. It is London's third busiest and is closest to the east of London and the London Docklands area. Air Asia flies to Kuala Lumpar
The Kuala Lumpur route is now at the moment the only long haul route serving stansted, because PIA have just stopped their services to Islamabad and Lahore via Dubai after a month of service!
I think all airlines starting out have a very tough time getting recognition against established airlines. That's often even more difficult for airlines at STN I guess they must have a good deal on landing charges or something as an incentive to go to STN rather than elsewhere.
Hi ToCorrectYou thanks for your comment. I think there was a light cross wind, but that's probably not much different to any time a plane comes in to land. The winds on this day were nothing major, i've seen worse at STN. Thanks again
Thats what i heard on wikipedia they'll also serve new york jfk, but I heard the flights to LAX and JFK will have to stop at Stansted, probably for refuelling and also including Stansted in the schedule for the routes as well.
No, thank you, thanks for your very kind comment, I am pleased you liked the video and it sounds like you've had good experiences with Air Asia. I saw Asia X coming in to land this morning, it looked nice against a bright blue sky.
fantastic video. thank you. im a regular customer of air asia ,top class low cost airline well managed ,good on time record. i will travel air asia x for sure if i get a cheap fare to KL.once again thanks
Certainly is after the losses of Wizz, Eastern, American, MaxJet, EOS, SkyEurope, Air Malta, CSA, Centralwings, FlyGlobespan, Transavia, Blue1, Air Italy Iceland Express going, Norwegian going but for 1 flight. Will be interesting to see how well this venture does by comparison. Thanks for commenting.
Yes it seems like the only airlines to be successful at Stansted are Ryanair, easyJet, Air Berlin and maybe some cargo airlines like Fed Ex and UPS. No problem.
Apparentely, PIA have now re-intorduced twice weekly services from stansted to lahore (on wednesdays), Islamabad (on fridays) and Dubai (On Wednesdays and Fridays).

hi frequentairbusflyer8, thanks for your message. I use something similar to Sony Vegas called Liquid Edition. There's a few semi-pro editors out there like Liquid, Vegas, Adobe Premiere, Ulead do one too.

P.s. What is the song called ?
globespan767 2 years ago
Hi globespan767 thanks very much for your comments, I'm pleased you liked some of my videos. It's always nice to know it's worth it. I haven't been back to Glasgow this year, but hopefully will do again, if nothing more than to experience the fun and bumpy landings that we always have!!
The tune is my own composition I use it for a few of my "Flying Into" videos, bit of a theme tune that I remix each time.

sealalula 2 years ago
hi, Air Asia flies out of London Stansted airport. It is London's third busiest and is closest to the east of London and the London Docklands area. Air Asia flies to Kuala Lumpar
bananamanuk 2 years ago

55.8 miles by road. Motorway all the way M11 - M25 - M1
But 27 miles in a straight line and using smaller roads.

The Kuala Lumpur route is now at the moment the only long haul route serving stansted, because PIA have just stopped their services to Islamabad and Lahore via Dubai after a month of service!
JoeRoss1993 2 years ago
I'd think Air Asia X wouldn't have lasted for long if their london route landed at gatwick because of their high landing fees.
JoeRoss1993 2 years ago
I think all airlines starting out have a very tough time getting recognition against established airlines. That's often even more difficult for airlines at STN I guess they must have a good deal on landing charges or something as an incentive to go to STN rather than elsewhere.

Cool there are little of cross wind ?
ToCorrectYou 2 years ago
Hi ToCorrectYou thanks for your comment. I think there was a light cross wind, but that's probably not much different to any time a plane comes in to land. The winds on this day were nothing major, i've seen worse at STN. Thanks again

kidcaptian 2 years ago
Thats what i heard on wikipedia they'll also serve new york jfk, but I heard the flights to LAX and JFK will have to stop at Stansted, probably for refuelling and also including Stansted in the schedule for the routes as well.

Nice to see a major long-haul airline coming to Stansted.

Thanks for commenting.
bananamanuk 3 years ago
Yes it seems like the only airlines to be successful at Stansted are Ryanair, easyJet, Air Berlin and maybe some cargo airlines like Fed Ex and UPS. No problem.
malmo66 3 years ago
Apparentely, PIA have now re-intorduced twice weekly services from stansted to lahore (on wednesdays), Islamabad (on fridays) and Dubai (On Wednesdays and Fridays).
