I need this now Honda,I'm disabled and can only walk about 100 feet, before the pain is so bad I have to lie down, this would give me a life,I could go places, shop in the malls,go to a car or electronics show, please Honda, please,I need this now.
This is awesome but it looks like they have a ways to go. The girls are obviously very nervous and continuously trying to plant their toes on the ground. I'd love to see the outtakes of mishaps from this video.
This is a great invention so don't knock it. If you can walk, then walk. But if you're disabled then this U3-X can make a huge difference in your life. I have Rheumatoid Arthritis, Osteoarthritis, Fibromyalgia and Multiple Sclerosis. This U3-X would actually allow me to have somewhat of a life outside of my house. If lazy people ride one, I'd think the embarrassment of being seen doing so would be enough to keep them walking instead!
they need more work to make a more robust version to hold 500lb fuckers when they ship it to america. god thats all we need, one more reason to not get exercise. its a plot. ah ah! i see now, trying to kill us off with our own laziness.
Think of the impact if they applied the omniwheel system to cars.
but seriously, if this gets sold, it needs to be a high price to keep the lazy people away, because (no offense) America's overall health may get worse if they get their hands on it.
I see the future now..... We all have our own "personal mobility devices," which have their own intravenous Coca-Cola drips systems and McDonalds dispensing units. These vehicles will come complete with telescoping arms so you never even have to stand up. A solid and liquid waste collection system will be built into the Lazy Boy style seating for ease of release. Heart and diabetes medication supplied by Big Pharma will be released into the IV as needed. Grim future.....
@ambeck8704 This invention is every Ameri-Cant's wet dream come true, and the only time you have to get off your diabetic ass is to go shoot brown people for their Oil and Opium crops !
@mookixox I bleed red, white, and blue, I obviously can laugh at our short comings. I suspect your skin to be of the color I would like to put bullet-holes through. Hippie.
Awesome technology, but damn humans are fucking lazy. This will eliminate the little crumbsworth of exercise everyone gets nowadays; we'll all be dead by 40 if this tech takes off.
The seat flaps are far too small for the vast bottoms that would inevitably be sitting on this type of device. Frequent use of the U3-X would probably take 20 years off anybody's life expectancy.
Why to walk, lets all sit like retards and move around, why would we use hands, lets just become human plants and lets move around with mind controlled devices!
buy a roundabout buy a rascal buy a eletric wheelchair with a blowstraw attachment. don't buy this. i bought this and i will regret it everyday of my life until i expire
Honda! Dont sell this to us Americans! We're just going to get lazier and fatter while we talk shit about you and play with our v8 trucks that are about to die at 75k miles! America is too damn proud to admit love for Honda, and from that pride spouts ignorance.
Before she undid those flaps I was like "You gotta let it rest in between your butt cheeks?" And then I got excited to see her sit on it hahaha. Ahh...
Amazing technology no doubt, and i think it has its application...i.e for use with disabled persons...but beyond that..its just an exscuse to be lazy.
@MultiIPwnage It'd be great in an office setting to get around the building, but long periods of sitting on this thing all day at a desk would eventually start to hurt as from the looks of it you have to be sitting in a pretty tensed seating position.
All-in-all, I find this thing rather ridiculous. It'll probably cost a small fortune to buy one too, so no thanks, I'd rather keep my leg strength and not look like a complete and utter lazy tool.
that looks exhausting!! You have to keep your posture in line at all times or your start to drift! This looks like an back muscle training device rather than something you would use for transportation! Please forgive me Honda if I would rather just walk.
If only this and segways etc were allowed on uk pavements...so stupid that they are illegal! You arehardly going to do any damage with that! Youd do more damage on a bike.
I'd imagine that, as with ASIMO, this is more a technology demonstration than a marketable product. There's a clue in the word *concept*. We don't know how long the batteries last or the maximum gradient it can cope with. You probably have to have a decent sense of balance to use the device, and as others have said it would be of little use on rough terrain or stairs. However, for older people or people with limited mobility, even with its limitations it would be of enormous benefit to them.
Seriously? Why would you want to even own this? What's so wrong with Legs? At least I wouldnt have to go and get my legs tuned up, or charge my legs at night. This is probably the stupidest creation on earth.
@lolotnihil Lol, Fail Comment is fail. Secondly, I WASNT TALKING ABOUT THE HANDICAPPED. I'm takking about these people that are perfectly capable of walking, using this shit. So please, kill yourself, and have a nice day.
@JohnnyDorkable Dear Johnny, Thanks for your response. Thanks for admitting you use the prop/crutch (bike). . This device doesn't look all that practical or usfull at the moment; at Easter 2011, a security door slammed shut on my foot and my doctor told me not to walk on it for seven weeks! . . I suppose the U3-X seems to be as 'useful' as electric windows for automobiles, were once. But who knows how slack the future-man will be. . Cheers. from, del-boy.
@lolotnihil Says the fool who felt the need to say so. (;
If you think this is technological ingenuity, please I beg you do not go into the business of inventing. We need things that better the world and the human mind. Not aid obesity. So here's to YOUR stupid comment<3
