I've kinda been into trains but not model trains. Just a couple of questions for you guys... How much does it cost for one of those trains? (Like the one at 0:25.) Also how much would it cost for the layout and table? Thanks :)

@TheAZJacob It can be an expensive hobby. I dont wanna detur you, but one can easily spend thousands on an HO Scale layout. That is the Union Pacific "Big Boy". MTH sells them new for about $600. Not all locomotives are that expensive, but you asked about that particular loco.

@TheAZJacob I was wrong. That isnt the famous UP "Big Boy. Tho if you pause at 0:31 you will see the "Big Boy" I am referring to. I have spent about $400 so far on my layout and am barely getting into it. Since, I have purchased my Athearn set. I've purchased 2 more locomotives(diesel not steam) under $200. 1 was about $75 and the other around $100. So, you can assume it can get spendy fast even if you try to be frugle. This doesnt include track, scenery, rolling stock, or the layout structure

at around 6:00 there is an articulated steam pulling some np freight, does anyone know if that is an NP engine and where one would be able to get their hands on a locomotive like that?

I remember seeing the N gauge mountain layout at the end in a model shop the last time i was in Seattle, 2005 i think. It was a great looking layout as i recall. Seattle was also my first experience of American railways. Living in England where everything is fenced off it was a surprise to see trains running down the side of the road when we drove to the museum of flight.

OK, they made the track gauges. So what! All the NMRA does is take (money) dues to fund all the expensive salaries down in their Tennessee headquarters. We need a new organization that is in touch today's model railroading. Spent years paying for dues? Ask youself, what did you really get?
