Why is striders health so low if his damage output is so low? That doesn't make any sense because he's not a glass cannon. So strider's job is to set you up for someone who can deliver big damage? What kind of BS is that? By the time you tag someone in to finish the combo the hitstun degrade is going to be ridiculously high and the damage buffer will be high as fuck. with the DHC glitch having been removed strider looks to be nearly useless for the simple fact that others can do the job better.

in regards to game pad vs joystick, I agree with Max that it's all about preference. Personally i prefer joystick because I use my game pad for shooters; which over time wears my controller out. Thus, having a nice joystick strictly for fighting games allows me to not worry so much about execution in regards to a used game pad. Also, not having to replace batteries on a joystick is a plus too hehe.

We may have to accept the possibility that Strider sux.

He brakes like glass and hit's like eggshells. You're going to be working twice as hard for half of the reward. It may not seem so on paper, but Damage input/output can change the entire dynamics of a character.

Maybe we should play him like Dark Phoenix and only bring him out with level three x factor? But even Regular Phoenix still does damage.

Both Vergil and Zero beat Strider hands down.

The moment you mentioned a POSSIBLE DLC feature to remove X-Factor, that became a blessing to me. Not too often, but often enough, I would beat my opponents first two characters using combos I picked up during my time in training mode. After my opponent's third character jumps in, they would activate level 3 X-Factor and knock out my entire team.

I know this has happened to others and by removing X-Factor, it would lean fights to more raw skill rather than relying on a level3 power boost to win.

@XxNightflameXx I agree with you to some extent, and level 3 X-Factor can be a bit overwhelming at times, but I will say that I think X-Factor is what balances this game. As much as it can provide lesser skilled players with comeback opportunities, it also provides higher skilled players a second wind, especially in the example you mention here(Kill two characters etc), and let’s not forget that it allows for some of the craziest/fascinating of occurrences possible in this game.

@ant659 One is typically going to be at a disadvantage if they're facing 3 characters with their 1. Not only is there usually a life advantage at that point but they can no longer call assists/DHC/TAC whereas their opponent can. Losing the abilities to DHC and TAC, which somewhat coincides with combo extension, are HUGE as they play an important role in killing off opponents’ characters and will probably be even more important in Ultimate judging by the modified hit stun deterioration mechanic.

Ken parrying Chun-li's super art.
