  • Thank you!

  • oh, Tremonti SE Vintage Cherry :)

  • thanks, worked like a charm

  • Hey man, thanks a lot. My bridge volume knob of my 50th Anniversary 1959 Les Paul was far too low and tight and I was afraid to touch it. With your helpful tip, I was able to lift it off and reposition without any fear of damaging the beauty. I can rest easy now...

  • "knob." How cool is that :) nice tip, thanks!

  • Thanks!!!

  • how do you put it back on?

    sorry im new to this.

  • Thanks sir, it helped with my ibanez js metallic ones!

  • HOLY CRAP!! thank you sir! I'm working on my old First Act guitar, trying to make it better (like, replacing parts with better, brand name parts) and I messed up one of the knobs a little bit, and they're the same knobs as the ones you have. I know how to take off my Strat's knobs, but the First Act ones wouldn't come off, so I thought I might be doing it wrong or something. This video helped though!

  • how do u remove it when its all the way down to the shaft touching the guitar?

  • i tryed to remove the hat to tighten the nut holding it in place and the actual metal part that has to turn came out, now i cant get it to go back in and hold its place in the pot. do you know how to fix it?

  • Awesome :D I was able to put in knob pointers now because of this thanks man

  • Thanks man...gotta luv youtube for being able to just punch in anything and...waa laa....there ya go.

  • Can I just ask do most people change the guitar knobs because they want to change the look, e.g from silver to gold . . or is it usually because they are damaged or . . . ? :) thanks

  • @JamGraMusic Im going to change the bell knobs on my epiphone les paul to black speed knobs just for the look, thats my reason anyway.

  • THANK YOU!! SAVED THE DAY!!

  • Excellent!

  • Thanks so much, I was about to give up after trying with...kitchen tools :)))

It worked perfectly even with my brand new 335. Thanks for sharing this!!!

  • What about when it is flush with the body of the guitar? I can't get even a very thin cloth under this one.

  • excellent video, very helpful, thank you. now the hard part is making sure the numbers line up when you put them back on a fender strat.

  • excellent demo!

worked exactly as described and shown

thank you very, very much :~)

  • easil y the best guitar maint tip ever! well done

  • fantastic, cheers buddy.

  • thanks bro.

  • Easily the best way to do it. No risk of damage and it's so simple to do.

    Cheers mate!

  • nice idea.........yeah, trying to pry them off with a flat head screwdriver (going around the edge little by little) can be dangerous. Some of these knobs are made from very brittle plastic. The only thing you have to watch out for with this technic is that if the knob is on real tight it may damage the control shaft......but this method seems better than most. They actually make a control puller that works safely and quickly but its around 40 bucks.

  • really helpful. thankyou so much :D

  • bloody brilliant idea, just looked for something like this for ages then resorted to prying using a similar technique, sliding a sock under it to protect the finish. wish i'd found this a few minutes earlier though :)

  • Man, thank you very much!! It's so easy!!

  • you are a genious...i've been trying other techniques and this is by far the best, good show to you sir

  • I was wondering about this subject removing, Metal knobs on a telecaster.

Just tried this method very, very easy.

    PERFECT.

    Thanks

  • thank you very much for this

  • can you just pop it back on?

  • wow, thank you so much dude! I was going to put destroy everthing trying to remove the darn plastic on my pickguard! Even the shoelace trick wasn't working for me! but that's perfect!!

  • thanks for the tip you saved my day

  • thanks man

  • thanks

  • Wow, haven't tried yet but this seems a great method. thanks

  • Shoelace works good too. But thats tight.

  • Thanks for the tip. Could you please explain the proper to replace a tone or volume pot nut without doing any damage to the top of the guitar. Thanks

  • hey thanks man!
