Thermaskirt has already secured a 4mil pound contract and more contracts soon. Also middle class people don't see the cost as something bad and find the convenience of it to be quite pleasant.
I can't believe people are disliking this product, it is effectively perimeter heating, the pipes that run all over under your floor are put around the edge, if you have a brain you know any heating installation is done before redecoration. Also this prduct saves mony so you wouldnt need to dry clothes off a radiator you could get a drier, in time the cost of anything comes down like this would, Radiators weren't always £100 look at the old Victorian ones! This is a great idea.
I don't think this is a good product, simply on the price £400 versus £100 for a normal radiator, for a house needing 8 radiators that's suddenly £3200 versus £800.......
Also, I'm sure that in the scheme of things, it's very complicated, what about around doors ?? What about corners ?? I don't think it's worth it. And finally, a lot of people use their radiators to dry clothes on !
@Jez2008UK You could use them only in rooms that wouldn't accommodate a radiator easily, like entrance halls and family rooms. My parent's cape-cod style house had baseboard heat downstairs and upright convectors upstairs. Baseboard "radiators" have been common in N. America since the '50s, but most are really convectors; being totally radiant, ThermaSkirt would be an alternative for people who want in-floor heating but don't want to worry about thick carpets blocking the heat.
@Jez2008UK I live in a small bungalow and the radiators take up wall space I need to put furnature, I think the skirting board radiators are an excellent idea as the heat is also spread around the room instead of from 1 spot..
