To anyone watching this review, I'll highly encourage you to read the manga instead of the anime. While you miss out on the voices (Don't watch the dub for that matter), you get three times more out of it then you would this. Tons more character development, good heartwarming arcs and more time to see everyone grow. Not to mention it has a good epilouge.
to comment about the sub versus dub...I have watched both versions, and personally I like the dub. The sub was excellent, I will give credit where credit is due, but after wathcing the anime and seeing the entire nature of the show, the voices of the dubs really to me seemed to match the character. One change would be that I would not give Kitsune that Southern drawl, that just seems to be so stereotypical when you have a character that is supposed to be from the Kansai region of Japan.
Not to be rude or racist, but black people don't suit blonde hair. By the way, that little boy was fast, going the same speed as a lorry, you should become a olympics player later =D
I would like to request/beg you to review Gundam Seed and Gundam Seed Destiny, their my favorite shows and I'd love to see what you thought of them, thanks :P
Normally I agree with your reviews, pretty much to all of them, but for Love Hina I just can never get over it. I'm not into the whole "beating up the guy because he accidentally touched you" Thing. And from what I see, that's a huge factor to the anime and is very hard for me to get over, because I don't find that funny what's so ever. And please no one bash me for me opinion. And if I'm wrong about him getting beaten up and given an extremely hard time then please tell me.
eagletrigger, i enjoyed the review. Love Hina is one of my favorite animes, and I did like how they ended the series when Naru finally confesses to Keitaro. However, I feel that after reading the manga that Love Hina is based on, I think that they could have possibly made Love Hina a little better buy using the whole are where Kei gets kidnapped by Su and taken to an island paradise, and it actually brings the entire group together.
If you have time, read the manga, I think u would enjoy it
3. Love Hina can be pretty bland for today's anime fans, but it's remembered fondly for replacing Tenchi as "default" harem of the decade, and its highly regarded as most likely the first ever fansub distributed mainly through internet. Still remember those 40mb real media files...
1. Ok, technically you're right. She isn't a priestess. But, as is often the case in anime, priestesses are tasked with dispelling evil spirits. Which is what Motoko does. Also, her dress (white top with red trousers) is often worn by priestesses (see Kikyo from Inuyasha and the one mother from Happy Lesson). So you can consider Motoko's character a branch of the priestess girl.
2. If Blood: The Last Vampire can be called a movie at 45 minutes, I can call these movies.
your forgetting the fact that Blood: The Last Vampire Sucked and some things are considered TV specials and some movies, also Blood was on its own without a series yet so of course they'll call it a movie and honestley I don't usually like watching subs but I'll go watch the sub just because I really like Love Hina, Not because of the voicing because I think it matched just fine
1. Is/was there any anime that you watched and were surprised how good it is/was?
2. Would you consider reviewing shows that are not anime? (e.g. The Twilight Zone)
3. Do you read any comics/manga? If not check out, in comics, Transmetropolitan by Warren Ellis and 100 Bullets by Brian Azzarello, in manga Akira by Katsuhiro Otomo

people out there, read the manga. The anime SUCKS. They alway ruin Akamatsu-sensei's mangas, like Negima.

8( What a shock! I saw the whole show in English, didn't mind the dubs, but DIDN'T KNOW THE SUBS WERE SO MUCH BETTER IN SCRIPTWRITING!!
Anyway, good review. I have to admit I disliked the OVA Love Hina Again (except the ending) myself.

I'm more of a dub fan too. But after seeing the first five episodes of this eries in English, I went: "okay, nevermind. Sub me up, buddy."

Compared to your other reviews, this is nice, but you aren't enunciating clearly enough. No offense.

no offense taken. I often mumble without realizing it. just something i need to work on in later reviews. thank you
eagletrigger 2 years ago
Don't mention it. At some point, you should try checking out another show that's from the creator of Love Hina. It's called Negima.

1. Motoko is not a priestess.
2. TV Specials are not the same as movies.

Hey, first episode of Katanagatari is 50 freakin' minutes. Its still a TV episode. Its not the length that the deciding factor, the purpose is.

3. Do you read any comics/manga? If not check out, in comics, Transmetropolitan by Warren Ellis and 100 Bullets by Brian Azzarello, in manga Akira by Katsuhiro Otomo

Since your not going to answer what your favorite anime is. What is the worst anime you've ever watched?
necronomicon009 2 years ago
@necronomicon009 watch his top ten worst anime ever. And that is DearS

Damn, that's some fluid animation. Kudos to the production team, as considering the genre they easily could have just phoned it in.
