I remember this game as if it were yesterday. What an awful stadium to have a football game. The beer sales were all in the stands. They would open a can and pour it in your cup (full of sand) and you'd have part mud part coors light all for 5 bucks, only in vegas.

I live here in Vegas and was at this game, everyone was getting so much sand in their eyes and mouth that people were watching from the concourse. That would never happen today, the area that was empty desert around the stadium is all built up now.

PS - the day after this game we got a couple of inches of snow here. All that wind was pushing a cold front through.

I remember watching this game on VHS after working. I was so pissed the Aztecs lost and they still have not been to a bowl game since.

brian schmitz was the punter. he was a 1st team all american that yr. #6 was the gunner that yr that would down all his kicks lol....

Player of the game was Carolina's punter. Made some great ones into the wind.
