@ProximaB Yes, Nicky was wanting to broaden Clannad's horizons so him and the band could make more money but they insisted on sticking with irish folk music. Eithne, being a late addition to the group & feeling like a 5th wheel, was then asked by Nicky if she was willing to go solo & make it rich by branching out. She agreed. That was the genesis of 'Enya'.

The producers I mentioned are known as Timbaland and Missy Elliot (R&B music genre). Besides making records, Aaliyah also played the title role in Anne Rice's Queen of the Damned. Tragically, she died in a plane crash before the film's completion. My classmates and I were devastated when that happened.

And yes, Nicky deserves a lot of credit for the success of 'Enya'. His unique recording methods has also helped the deaf to, if not hear at least feel, music they can dance to, and this was before he signed on with 'Clannad'. Quite a remarkable man that's always been in the background but without him 'Enya' would not have been possible.

And in addition to Enya’s music and the def, I read somewhere that her songs were tested in a hospital setting, where patients with hypertension experienced a drop in blood pressure. I myself played one of her albums on loop while asleep. And in response, a most horrifying memory resurfaced. I guess weird things like that can happen when the mind relaxes enough. But yeah, there’s definitely something to Nicky's art form.
