  • I loved when steve williams got knocked out in the wwf brawl for all!!

Watching him do mma was pathetic...never been a fan and never believed the hype about him.

  • Ray may come off the best in this debacle (though wife stealing isn't nice, unless you're Benoit - at least according to his dumbfuck marks). He shakes hands with Williams, who did a not nice thing by taking money to hurt someone who wasn't expecting it in an environment where trust and cooperation is so important. Abrams was a scummy cokehead who shot himself during a cocaine frenzy. Human filth, basically.

  • At least Ray was a professional towards Williams, despite the shoot, offering to shake his hand.

  • That wasn't very brutal. Anymore footage of Herb flying off the rails?

  • Im sure Steve Ray had a good laugh when he saw Steve Williams attempt at MMA, it was embarassing.

  • Jesus the guy calling the match is awful. What was that pin count? "3, 2... Yeah".

  • The kick at 6:35 looks like the real one i'd say?

  • craced

  • So a lot of the heavier guy's attacks seem either very stiff or legit. I'd hate to be the guy that pissed off Herb.

  • I suspect the nose break is in 6:30 - 6:35, the series of kicks to Ray's face

  • Where does he break his nose?

  • When does he break his nose?

  • R.I.P. "Dr. Death"

  • Nice presentation, I like the authenticity.

  • was not a shoot

  • @devinlane256 It wasn't a shoot in the strictest term of it, Williams just stiffed him like mad is all.

  • that wasa good match even though they were kinda shooting on each other.. it ended up looking good without getting to sloppy for tv

  • This is a tremendous slap in the face to Rick Vaughn.

  • I can't believe people think this is a shoot. Compared to his Japanese matches, Dr Death was pretty easy-going in this!

  • @Suriel1981 The difference is that stiff/shoot wrestling in Japan is still coreographed so it's still going to look faker than a few legit kicks and punches in this match. Go watch a real fight video on YouTube and it will look a lot different than a stiff AJPW match.

  • Bruno on commentary.

  • hey death karmas a bitch aint it?? oh yea you're dead

  • @MSVU2009 Karma may be that but it gets us all one day.Itll get you too.

  • It looked stiff as hell but not a shoot

  • @mhlafors People misuse the word "shoot" all the time. This was a work that got stiff, nothing more.

  • @meekrob

    prove it.

  • funny as hell outside of this fed and global no one really ever heard of steve ray lmao

  • RIP !!!!!!!

  • Steve Ray Looks Like He'd Be Tha Closet Thing To THE RAM!!!

  • this is LEGEN wait for it Dary! I just gained so much respect for DDSW. You see Herb Abrams come up and say something to Steve Ray right after Williams fucking absolutely brutalized his ass with stiff shots, the ring post backbraker, and whatever catch-dude-while-jumping-and-dump-him-on-his-fucking-head spot he did, and Ray took a swing at him. Classic.

  • The reason this went down the way it did was Ray was stickin' it to Abrams' wife and Abrams knew about it so he slipped Dr Death an extra $500 or something to work stiff.

  • This was a shoot. They both tried to work it, but yeah there were several definite shoot shots in there.

  • @MarvelousMatt No offense, but no way it was a shoot because if Dr. Death was shooting he'd have torn the guy's head off in seconds. He actually could wrestle at a high level plus he was about 50 pounds heavier than that other clown.

  • that ring sux ass

  • Definitely looks like Ray stiffed the Doc with those kicks at about 3:20. And then, he got his receipt. Several times. That running backbreaker into the ringpost looked like it hurt, and then Doc just dumped him like a sack of shit.

  • when does the shootery kick in? I'm only seeing a regular pro wrestling match so far.

  • bad wrestling show but far far away from the old bill watts uwf back in 1987 - but steve williams is one of the best workers of all time !

  • Unfortunately(or maybe fortunately) I only got 2 years of UWF-lived in Louisiana for 2 years. But yeah...this IS a long way from the era I got to see UWF 85-87. Dr Death used to be a gnarly f*cker!

  • I remember watching this match as a kid. This was why my brother explained kayfabe to me. Ray slept with Herb Abraham's wife(legit) and offered Williams money (legit) to hurt Ray. There just aren't badasses like Williams anymore.

  • @bwaam Yes that is how a badass is defined. "Take money to sucker punch a guy when he is least expecting it in a situation where his career is over if he fights back." So tough...

  • @AbsoluteJake so true. well put.

  • @AbsoluteJake troll fuck off, it was 2 different thoughts. the first one was the story behind the video, the second was the fact that the man was a bad ass. not because he took money to pound this poor loser, but because he could legitimately beat the crap out of most people

  • Why one of the commentators sounds like Kevin Nash? lol

  • I believe you are hearing Bruno Sammartino actually ^_^

  • Steve Ray = Randy the Ram

  • Ha Nice reference

  • I was at that show.Herb came out in the hallway and was yelling at him about money and don't get any blood on my wife.He was pissed at him more about the money.Herb was a coke addict.

  • wwe generation take notes

  • Lol. I'd never agree to shoot against Dr. Death or any other old school non filtered Marlboro Reds smoking wrestler lol.

  • I heard a story that Kevin Von Erich also once tried to shoot on Dr. Death but when Williams shot back & roughed him up Kevin said "ok, lets go back to working" LOL

  • I have heard about this match too and after watching it it really does not seem like much of a shoot to me. It looked more like Doc just worked stiff, which he usually did, and that Rey was plain sloppy from being so green and as a result they had several potatoes & miscues & tempers migh have flared. When Rey did that jump off the top rope onto Doc on the floor he really overshot him and landed hard.

  • agreed. this is a a stiff match with a couple of botchamania spots but far from a shoot

  • wow...interesting video when you know the rumored backstory behind it. I enjoyed watching the old UWF episodes on espn classic last year.

  • Classic.Nothing like today bullshit wrestling.

  • Classic? Are you kidding me!? Abrams' UWF sucked! One of the worst booked promotions ever. It can't even hold a candle to Attitude Era WWF.

  • At least then it was about real wrestling then today's watered down "kid friendly" bullshit!

  • What!? Have you even watched wrestling in the last 15 years? Wrestling in the '80s & '90s were much more "kid-friendly" then wrestling is today. My ex-wife yells at me all the time for letting our kids watch wrestling today because of the violence, swearing & sexual references.

  • Ever heard of a John Cena , mister?

  • Yes, he is actually from my home state. I would say that Cena is more aimed at young adults in their 20s who identify themselves w/ Hip-Hop culture, but even still your going to condem all of modern wrestling just for 1 guy? U ever hear of Triple H, Randy Orton, Vladimir Koslov, & JBL??

  • I think you misspelled "condom"

  • Yea UWF was terrible, I remember it winning awards for the worst promotion ever, old school doesn't necessarily mean good.

  • Is that one half of the former WWE tag team Well Dunn?

  • No. that's Steve Dunn. This is Dr. Death Steve Williams.

  • No. I meant Steve Ray.

  • Oh, ok.. Sorry :) Not sure tbh.

  • Steve Ray definetly kicked him a little stiff, and when Dr. Death goes to the amatuer shit, that's when school begins for Steve.

  • Well, near the beginning of the match when Steve Ray had his run of moves you can see him start to take a few liberties with some stiff kicks and when he knocked him out of the ring. Steve Williams taught him a lesson lol, Steve Ray was humbled after the match that's why he offered his hand at the end.

  • everybody has to start somewhere

  • Spoken like a true WWE fan, and no ... that's not a good thing.

  • Steve Williams got his face beat in by Bart Gunn during the WWF Brawl 4 All back in 1998. Bye bye reputation.

  • Not really a fair comparison at all. Williams was a shooter & a legit tough guy, but Bart Gunn was several years younger & much quicker then Doc was.

  • It was also a boxing match with goofy takedown rules. He basically got caught with a lucky left from a southpaw then fell badly on his knee injuring it

  • I just watched that fight and it looks like Dr. Death may have injured his leg in the takedown that occurred just before he was knocked out. Either way, you are right that the rules were goofy.

  • This wasn't a shoot. There was nothing out of the ordinary that happened here other than Steve Williams working stiff which is how he's always worked

  • Extremely true, Doc was always stiff as all fuck.

  • Few things wrong with this story:

    1) A worker owed a promoter money?

    2) Steve Ray slept with a promoters wife? lol

    3) I don't see Doc breaking a guys nose for 100 bucks...he may have done Ray's for free!

Ray could not work or sell. The only thing he had was a good look for the early 90s' and some charisma. But that was all he brought to the table. Everything he did in this match sucked. Not ONE thing looked good.

  • Hello friend that comment about "could ot work or sell. The only thing he had was a good look and some charisma" describe 90% of the WWE wrestlers.

  • Dr. Death may actually be able to fight, but who cares. That's not what pro wrestling's about, it's a show. All the people who wonder why guys like him and Barry Windham never made it as superstars in America need to shove it up their ass and watch UFC. WWE, give me some wrestlers who aren't just boring clones who wrestle with their given names.

  • What does enjoying how awesome Steve Williams is have to do with UFC?

  • well, I watch UFC and WWE. I'm just saying wrestling needs to be about the theatrics and entertainment, and I'm tired of this era of boring ass wrestlers. Steve Williams is alright, but there are always people saying how he should have been put over as a champ. He's a good guy to have on the roster, it's just post-Stone Cold, I got sick of all these bad ass redneck types who just fight. Lots of people get pissy about wrestlers with gimmicks, when we're all watching fake wrestling. Have fun.

  • he would fuck u up!

  • Theres a lot of guys I wouldnt want shooting on me but in all honesty Dr. Death would probably be at the top of that list lol.

  • I love the UWF,i have dvd´s from the good old days, this match too

  • lol

  • I read on the internet that Steve Ray owed Herb Abrams money and he was fooling around with Herb's wife. So Herb paid Steve Williams an extra $100 to rough Steve Ray up and break his nose.

  • nothing surprises me in pro wrestling anymore!

  • I heard that too, but I heard it was for more than $100.

  • well if u read it on the internet it must be true. lmfao

  • bring back the fury hour on espn classic

  • Why would he shake his hand afterwards?

  • It was probably a "I don't know what the hell that was about, but I still respect you" gesture. Very professional on Ray's part.

  • would you really? >.>

  • @SaveHolmes oh he knew what he did. Dont stiff someone like Dr Death & dont expect a receipt

  • This isn't what I thought it would be after reading about it a while back. I guess WSilliams roughed him up a bit and gave him some shoot kicks to the nose.

LOL at Abrams running in and shoot taunting him. Oh how I wish I knew what he said.
