Cynthia is right!!, The bailout for the banksters has been a waste of money. They just held the money to buy the weaker banks and monopolize their power.

The money would have been better used to create new jobs on the green industries, not those that cater to the oil industry (by building gas guzzlers)

yes, agree with youth being criminalized. even out here in rural america where we don't have much crime. gas stations, restaurants, businesses etc... enforce no loitering laws on teenagers but the welcome retirees sitting around drinking coffee all day. I know that sounds silly, but it's clear discrimination.

Rosette-I have seen american blackout, it was supposed to be about the 2000 election but it mostly focused on McKinney's congressional campaign.Mckinney cannot hold a candle to nader's accomplishments which include seat belts in cars,air bags,clean air and water acts, freedom of information act,OSHA,FDA, labeling on food and prescription drugs,etc. Nader has a trackrecord which even 1 of his accomplishments is an envy to any pres candidate so i fail to see how mckinney has better acomplishments.

Cynthia McKinney is building a Political Party. Nader's issues are good but it will take an ENDURING INSTITUTION (Political Party) that will create the collective resources to CHANGE the system. McKinney has that experience first hand. Knowing WHY the Democratic (and Republican) Parties fail and what it takes to create a Competitive Political Party. 6 terms in Congress and preceding terms in the Georgia state legislature makes her uniquely qualified to BUILD a National Political Party.

Peace and Freedom is a state party affiliated with no national party. The FEC has definitions of what a national body is. McKinney was nominated at a national convention of affiliated state parties. Nader was not. McKinney identified a party affiliation. Nader has not nor has he said that he's creating one. Nader has always chosen to be independent of any political party. The Green Party has been running and winning local races for years.

A party is a collection of people who run for office at local and state level, create state parties, attempt ballot access beyond a single candidacy, affiliate nationally. It means running candidates to create ballot lines under their state election laws.

There just doesn't seem to be any evidence of how the party is actually growing.

The McKinney campaign is bringing in people of color. I'm seeing that first hand. It's up against "Obamamania" though.

Keep in mind the Nader campaign has drawn many Greens and would be Greens.

It still leaves the fundamental question as to whether one wants an enduring entity to change the system and whether that will be the result of the Nader campaign (it wasn't in 2004 and may not be in 2008).

McKinney supports that institution with a certitude. The Green Party has endured so far.

The GP members are great people, but the leadership and some decisions made by ur campaign haven't been so favorable.The vision of the party is lost in what their strategy should be,while membership and votes dwindled.I have choosen to vote 4 nader based on what he has done and what he offers.I have nothing against mckinney personally,i just won't vote 4 some1 because they are with a national party, even though the party is dwindling.

rosette, nader has worked in influencing policy decisions, you will not find anyone that will argue against that. He's been in senate hearings, published books, lobbied for consumer rights, and so on since the 60's! You can say that he does have "washington" experience. Nader has endorsed Kucinich before and in the primaries along with Gravel and Ron Paul. So name me more meaningful legislation than the ones listed in one of my previous posts, and tell me that isn't political power.
