I think they're both VERY good. These parts are SO hard to sing, I should know, I'm a classically trained 18 yr old and I played Maria when I was 16. It's one of the hardest musicals to sing, most of the songs are set for grade 8+ singers. I think the girl does have a very slightly popish voice but she has a beautiful voice none the less. well done guys. Tony has a fab voice too! I bet you enjoyed it. was this an american cast?

even if she does have a tiny tiny bit of a "popish" sound, i think it makes the song even more emotional. not for one second does she remind me of today's nasty pop stars, she still sounds pure and beautiful.
