A huge blunder because in 1998, when the BBC hosted it, the BBC has just spent millions on their new logo and it appeared on the eurovision Ident before the Birmingham contest in 1998.
What I meant was in 1997, RTE failed to show its new logo on the eurovision titles...as shown above...yet the BBC's logo was shown before the 1998 contest...therefore RTE's missing logo was a serious blunder because the BBC showed theirs a year later!
Marc-Antoine Charpentier is the proper name of this French composer, and this is indeed his setting to the old chant "Te Deum". But the music is Baroque, rather than Gregorian, I must point out.
I remember that blooper. It really was a silly mistake to make considering that only a few months previous, RTE had spent millions on rebranding their corporate logo. Considering that it really is a contest between broadcasters!
ahh class remake

That makes no sense, at all.
The logo appearing was meant to happen, and the BBC Logo was created in 1996 but rolled out in 1997.

Oh, I see now. Sorry about that, I was confused.

The only thing embarrassing is that you consider it a blooper that the RTE logo was not part of the introduction!

"A misfitting error, of complete accidence which results in an amended, altered or degraded quality of televisual product." - Blooper.
Yeah, I'd say this is a blooper.... you disparaging arse. Leave him alone.

If the mere logo is so crucial to your idea of quality then - I'd suggest you need to get out more often.
