I plan on making a shirt with one of my favorite pictures on it. I want to use acrylic paints but I want to know if I do not have a fabric medium would the acrylic paints fade away or flack off?
@RoxxyBoxxy555 Regular acrylic paints may turn stiff, that is the difference with fabric acrylic. I would definitely heat set it with a iron. Test it on other fabric than the shirt first. Good luck.
Hey! Awesome work! I have a question for you... I've made a t-shirt and used oils, acrylics and permanent markers. Do you think it'll survive in the washing maching? :p thanks!
I tried painting a T-shirt once and I had to put multiple coats of paint on it. I placed a newspaper between the two sides of the shirt so that the paint doesn't bleed to the back. The painting took me a lot of time (days) and by the end of it, the newspaper had stuck to the inside of the t-shirt coz of the paint. What can I use instead of a paper to avoid this? Also, the painted area of the fabric got pretty thick and didn't fold easily (coz of the multiple coats i guess). How can I avoid this?
@AdvaitChoudhary I just painted a t-shirt and I used a cardboard inside a plastic bag - then I "dressed" the t-shirt on it held it together with binder clips. It worked out perfectly. Hope this helped
@bratzdirector Good question! Yes it will totally disappear so I will paint it again.:)))
Just kidding! No it won't! It is permanent fabric paint and I would heat set it after painting. The brand I have no longer there, but there are better ones available in the market such as Seta Color.
Hey man, I know you are using acrylic paints, but is there a specific brand you use? I just want to be able to get a high quality painting like yours.
hello my friend....I must ask I hope that you will reply me soon....That acryilc paints...on that shirt...can you wash that shirt...will that paint be washed off....sorry for my bad english I hope that you will understand me :)
@thanx4life Opt 1) water soluble pencil as it will wash out fairly easily and if there are any faint marks left over then they will fade and disappear over time. Opt 2) Chalk is generally a fairly muted color and therefore will be quite a pale marking. Opt 3)Fabric marker pens are designed solely for the purpose of drawing on a variety of fabrics and then washing off or fading in time. You may find them in your local fabric stores. Thanks!
very cool compliments i like panda on the t-shirt :-)

JuSeo91 2 years ago 3
@JuSeo91 No, just fill in white colors. At 3:28 is in thin white (more water, less paints).

i got a question. when u iron it, do u use anything to cover betwenn the t-shirt and the iron? thanks
spirit0221 2 years ago
@spirit0221 No I didn't. use anything. You could use a cloth or iron on the wrong side though. I just wait it dry overnight then iron directly.

is it going to clear when i wash it
issaaden 3 years ago
No, it won't wash out or fade because I was using acrylic permanent fabric paint and after it dries, I heat-set it with an iron.

I have Chinese painting lessons now, it looks so easy, but it isn't :-(
We tried bamboo, orchid, chrysant, and mini landscape...
Great to follow your lessons too.
