  • This was one of the first BK movies I had ever saw and it wom me over entirly. Its rare to see a scene like this in any movie, Cliff Edwards and Buster oh, they should of made more movies. After seeing this, I sought out many of his other films and enjoyed them all.

  • The song is called "You Never Did That Before" You can hear Buster singing the lyrics at 1:08 or close to that.

  • Buster does look hot in this, but so does cliff. Theyre both such talented geniuses and focused in this, making it all the more deep! Never found out the name of this wonderful song though! NObody knows it!! Hate the way they had to turn it into a comic bit. Would Love to hear then do the whole song! they were friends in real life.

  • I just love Buster that much more : )))

  • Was there ever a man so lovely and so talented as Buster? Certainly not! Enormous love for this video :-)

  • My eyes and ears are for Buster only. He was beautiful and extremely talented.

  • This video just makes me happy.......love it!

  • Does anybody know the name of the song that Cliff Edwards is singing just before they all break into the scatting? I've been trying to figure it out. :^\

Thanks for posting this--this is definitely the best scene in Doughboys, and one of my favorite Buster Keaton moments EVER.

  • Love, love, love this!

Can't get enough Keaton, and this is fantastic. Kudos to Ukelele Ike and Mr. Sedgewick, too, but Buster Keaton is the man.

  • I love the song and Buster looks so handsome!

  • Pardon my ignorence, but could someone be so kind as to inform me which of the individuals in the performance is Buster?

  • @BillaWoh The one in the middle, with the ukulele ;)

  • @BillaWoh Thank you, i was totally under the impression it was the guy drumming

  • @BillaWoh the cute one x] :))

  • Love, Love, Love the film...

    Hillarious...

laughed so hard I fell off my sofa chair stitched up on the floor in tears and laughter...

    Love.....

    :)

  • LOL cool! I liked that! :)

  • Buster loved to sing and play his ukulele and I love his bass. He's adorable here : P

  • what is that style of screechy singing called? its gorgeous.

  • @AwesomeTheDog It's called "effin", sort of a precursor to scat.

  • I love Buster's flailing at the end :)

  • Great scene! Thanks so much for sharing it. It looks like an 8-stringed uke, or maybe a mandolinetto with uke tuning.

  • What the hell, is Buster eating the tuning pegs at the end?? Aww, he's so yum :')

  • @glassoniongirl64 Looks more like he's playing it like a flute :P Still yum ;D

  • @yellowsummerdress Oh waaaaiiit, I think he might be trying to tune it XD I don't think it's possible for anyone to be more yum than Buster :) <3

  • @VisualizeJess: I guess they took out another part too: the scene where I run in the room, pick up Buster and sling him over my shoulder, and then run away with him ;)

  • Classic!! The best uke-scene EVER!! Cliff Edwards and this scene were the whoile reason I took up the uke!! Many thanks for posting this.

  • Thanks so much for uploading this!!!

    I LOVE Buster, he's the best :)

  • I see they cut out the part of the movie where I ran in and tackled him because he is so amazing. <3

  • @Meowmena: I can't thank you enough for putting this up on YouTube!

P.S. I wish Buster Keaton could provide the bass for every song ;)

  • Yes; that's the movie.

  • @brmaz Thank you !
