  • Perfect details!!! Excelent!!

  • Absolutely brilliant! Exactly the right sound, and excellent, clear teaching. Many thanks, Oldvole.

  • Finally someone who knows what he's doing! WELL DONE!

  • THANK YOU BROTHER!

  • Thanks for taking the time to make this. It was a lot of help.

  • Nicely explained ol' chap!

  • Nobody plays the highs on the intro which is obviously played studio and live.

  • Well, you support what my guitar partner came up with. Now I just need something to compliment what she does. Thanks for the video.

  • I've seen tons of WRONG ways to play this song & yours is the only one that's absolutely right!!!! Why do people who haven't learned to play it right, think they can teach others how to play it wrong? (Arrogant amateurs make me sick!) This tune is probably THE most butchered song by amateurs on YouTube; At least you posted it 100% correct. Now if only the rest could be deleted, eh? That is except yours, the originals of FREE or Schone & Shennan w/ Paul Rogers. Keep up the great work!!! Thanks!

  • @Guitarman1146 Thanks for you kind comments. Please check out my video for the solo too. I never claim to be perfect, but you're right, there are some dodgy versions of this song around. I once went for an audition with a great band and was the only person all day to play this song pretty accurately. I saw some very strange versions from the other guys who auditioned that day!

  • @BiteSizeGuitar Did you get the gig ? You must have .... Sure as heck you know your craft !

  • @Guitarman1146 no, i think it comes second with sweet home alabama being the most butchered song cos everyone says they can play it, but very few people can actually play it and fewer still can play it well. i don't think that amateurs are being arrogant, they're just clearly delusional. Except when they start bragging. Then thery're arrogant

  • Sir, thank you for this great tutorial of a great song!

  • Great video, one thing, on the A chord put the little finger on the 5th fret of the bottom E and hit all six strings.

  • @Kit100 My God! You're right!!!!!

  • nice marcelleke =) great lesson

  • There are so many duff versions of this tune floating around YouTube, good to see someone TOTALLY NAILING this song - good ears...

(solves the mystery surrounding the exact voicing of the initial A5 chord too)

  • I sure wish I had seen this video before I recorded this song for youtube...HAHAHA. That suspended D chord arrangement has eluded me for years. I knew it must be something really simple but I just haven't been able to find it...now I'm smacking myself on the forehead saying, "OH YEA, you DUMMY!" HAHAHA. The arrangement I used sounds more like Steve Miller's Keep On Rockin Me. Well, we live and we LEARN, don't we? Thanks for posting this.

  • First class guitarist..

  • now youtuber friends, thank you; please join-in GUITAR CHORDS group to enhance the groups lecturing; you rock!

  • nice riffs

  • Ains, thank you very much for explaining this song in such great detail! I teach guitar & definitely take a few pages out of your book. You keep the student interested and most importantly keep it fun :)

  • Your attention to detail and x-ray ears shine like a light! Most folks do not have the drivenness and/or curiosity to go the extra 10 miles in really getting every detail right. You are a pro!!

  • Very cool lesson. I always wondered what that suspended chord was. :-)

  • Hey Ains. Thanks for this! I played along and had it down (minus any sign of Kossoff vibrato!!) in the time of your vid. I can play the bass to this one so is cool to add the verse/chorus guitar parts. Solo will be a challenge! All the best. Phil

  • Great Lesson

  • Thanks!

    Ains
