At any rate, the term "Norman" in this context refers to a 12th century story called "Cogadh Gaedhil re Gallaibh" which is more about symbolism than actual history now, so this song is not supposed to be historically accurate, it's supposed to be about that story and the socio-economic symbolism behind it.
