She was not the first to compete that tumbling pass, layout with a full. Kui Yuanyuan did that long before Ban ever did. If you want to see how it should be done check out Kui's beam routine. She is quite brilliant!

She def looks part midget. I know female gymnasts are all short, but she REALLY looks like her mom or dad was a midget and then she came out. Also where is her neck? She looks like she wasn't born with a neck:(

@unevercalled Nevermind. Only a real gymnastics fan would get it. I 've talked to tons of other gym fans and they GET IT without saying anything. Courtney Mccool. Odd looking. No neck. Same with Oana. It's the way they look doing gymnastics. A stretch position. Again, this is NOT something I have to explain to people. We don't care WHAT their faces look like. We care about their gymnastics. Her beatiful work is sometimes downplayed by the way she is shaped. Not her makeup and face.

Hey, are you talking about the full in skill?? I have great news... there are TWO romanian gymnasts doing this skill and there are videos of it .. 2009 Romanian Nationals - Larissa Iordache BB and also Diana Chelaru BB. both are now doing this skill which i am very happy about. Have fun watching

@QueenieQue please explain in detail how shawn lacked fluidity and presentation? her flexibility was always an issue and she definitely proved herself with her work ethic and effort towards the olympics. Gymnasts can always be compared to other gymnasts but what it comes down to is how hard they worked to achieve high honers. And Oana Ban, as amazing as she WAS, did not compete her same difficulty in the olympics and held back...that is not achieving greatness but settling for what will do.

Yes, Romania is a great country for gymnastics. Here in the Netherlands we are only interested when someone is succesful. Unfortunately the golden days of woman's artistic gymnastics for my country are over.

Yes, the Wevers sisters are from my country. But they have extreme bad luck with injuries. I mean to say that gymnastics over here was popular over here in 2001-2002 when Renske Endel and Verona van de Leur were winning medals at European and World Championships, but now that nobody is winning such big tournaments anymore, the popularity of the sport is waning...and then you get these stupid reactions like every men watching woman's gymnastics is 'pedophile'.

But our men are now doing quite well. Yuri van Gelder, before he started using coke. And nowadays Epke Zonderland is very succesful. But according to stupid people, men gymnastics is gay... Idiots!
