The guy does not know how to drive. Did you hear the car shut down due to red-line, his shifting was terrible. The car sounds like it has some serious engine damage due to inexperienced drivers.

But yes that wasn't the best driving especially if the guy owns the car and all he was doing was heading down the straight. Doesn't help that Esprits have a pretty average gearchange (gearbox from a Renault Alpine in that model) for a supercar.
This sounds nothing like my 88 turbo esprit with the factory Lungsford exhaust.. It is a V8. Look at the rear license plate plinth on the left at the beg of the vid.. It says V8. It also has the V8 ground effects, wheels, and wing. It is a 97.. That is the only year with the boomerang dash for the V8.. Cheers!
The Lotus V8 uses a flat-plane crank like a Ferrari or a TVR and have different firing orders to your average yank-tank V8. Hence it sounds like a 4-pot

Back when it first came out (some decades ago) it looked relatively better. But the newest versions just don't hold a candle to the Mercs, Porsches, and TVRs.

You can pcik up used ones from the low 20's (Be very very careful) to the 60's (and up, again, use common sense...You can find someone who will sell you one for more if your giving away money)

They did not export the Esprit to the U.S in 96.. It is either a 95 w/4cyl or 97 with V8

Looks like a GT3 to me. The wheels are wrong for the V8 and it sounds like a GT3.
I have a s4s and it has the exact same kit as the V8, (split rims, wide arches and high spoiler). Awesome cars though.
