been a fan for years, saw him perform live for the first time last month in vancouver....this was his second encore....you could literally hear a pin drop while he played this song ...it was unreal...
One of my favorite songs. I totally cried when I saw him sing it live. Seriously, this is true talent. You can't listen to him and not feel moved. He is a perfect example of what is means to be a true artist.
Just saw him at Bumbershoot...he was amazing...heart-breaking all over the place...and somewhere in the stadium audience was the girl I fell for many years ago, unable to reach out to each other in ordinary life, but at that show we were united in sorrow for what used to be...
just got back from his concert in Newcastle. He was amazing and this song made me call my girlfriend long-distance. Too bad ol' Ray kept complaining about the sound... Sorta ruined the mood for everyone. Anyway, he's still the man.
I just got back from his concert.. Tears were rolling down my cheeks while he played this song.. It was so beautiful. It felt like he was singing this song for me, cause it seems he understands what I feel en go through.
I was kind of disinterested in his new album, not too big of a fan of the single spinning on the radio...but then my boss told me, like he always does after listening to satellite radio, "Hey, look up this guy; Ray Lamontagne, Like Rock and Roll on the radio!" So, I look it up, and there it is, the story of my life. It will be my next album purchased, for sure.
This song is possibly my favorite from the album, but having heard it first live and then actually seen/heard it played live, I must say that the live version is much much much better. This man owns my soul. SO beautiful.
I was and am blown away by such a song, i came across it while unable to sleep and i flicked the channel on the TV (not the radio) at 5am to be so lucky to have caught him perform it live... great song wonderful voice.
All of his songs are like the soundtrack to my soul... if you are not moved by his songs and his voice, then you are not human. Thanks for uploading this.
Best Ray Lamontagne songs:
1. Like Rock & Roll and Radio
2. Empty
3. Jolene
4. Old Before Your Time
5. New York's Killing Me

Bob Dylan's been my hero for 35 years, since I was a little boy. Bob's just been replaced. Ray's an epiphany.
