That was a model R-370 Renaissance. However the quality of sound is typicall compromised on U-tube due to its broadcast limitations. It is comparable to the current model Q-370 Quantum series Allen.
I use an Allen Expander II on stage (Similar to the Ensemble) when I play keyboards on stage with bands. Allen is the very best for offering good MIDI products!
Rodgers PDI is a marketing tool to sell organs. Stereo sampling simply does not work in an auditorium/sanctuary environment. It presents significant imaging problems and in no way emulates the affect of a pipe-organ chamber. It's very ineffective in its use of audio channels with a significant amount of harmonic distortion (tries to process too much competing information in each channel). Not good!
This is absolutely not the case - unless you're looking for keyboard sounds. Allen's sampling and audioprocessing techonology is unmatched, and is far and away the best sounding, technologically-advanced pipe-less organ in the world.
i believe the smallest drawknob is about 40,000. Our church was saving up for one but the prices kept rising faster than we could raise the money...we ended up buying a Rogers instead, cheaper and same quality :)
Rodgers don't even compare to Allen in quality. Take a close look at the keyboards, drawknobs, sampling and audio process, and cabinetry construction, and you'll quickly see why Allen is the #1 organ builder in the world. Rodgers aren't that much cheaper to buy, but they are significantly inferior in quality.
i'v played and listened to both. i havn't noticed much of a difference..both sound and feel like pipe organs to me. however i favor the higher "pipes" and mixtures on the rogers, but i favor the celest on the allen.

It is basically just like a pipe organ. If you can't get a pipe organ in your church, just get one of these!

ha im 15. I think they start at in the renaissance series, it is like $35k
Brandotuomikoski 3 years ago
Thanks for the info. Do you play the organ also? WLB

They did away with the renaissance series several years ago.

Allen built upon the success of the Renaissance series with the Quantum organs. There is nothing like them in the market today.

This organ costs something like 80k. Little Allens are something 10k. Allens are expensive but they are very very good!!!!!
Principal16 3 years ago
with 80k you can get a decent real pipe organ
Ntalikeris666 2 years ago
Not really. Unless you can get by with 3-4 stops.
bradtaylor32 2 years ago
you can't even get a used, 8 rank, 2-manual pipe organ for under $100k.
meridianmusicco 2 years ago
It depends on the manufacturer.
Ntalikeris666 2 years ago
That might be true...discounting quality or age or condition.
meridianmusicco 2 years ago
Yeap.
Ntalikeris666 2 years ago
that's not true. recently, I saw a 20 some rank, 3 manual Cassavant for $105K which included installation. It was out of a church that was closing.

@organmaster1000
there are those rare exceptions
meridianmusicco 2 years ago
depends on what you want in the organ, stops and such.

Having had the opportunity to see and hear both "up-close," there is a big difference in the quality of these two brands.

I do think Allen's string and celeste stops are one of their strengths. Their reeds are pretty respectable too.
