Well done Joe! Love the winter videos! That thorn shrub looks like a species of hawthorn (Crataegus sp.)? Southern Ontario is an epicenter of speciation of NA hawthorn. You have many species, and they are discovering new varieties all the time. Ferro rod: Was that a LMF or a softer mischmetal rod?

You're probably right about the Hawthorn, they are exploding down here.
The Ferro rod was a LMF style, but I usually use mischmetal.
I like switching back and forth between the 2 types so that my technique is often refined.
