Sarah Palin is so thrown for a loop by the complete fluke that got he where she is through no ability or accomplishment of her own, that it has given her a bright eyed air of wonder and amazement that is really captivating. This has given her an attitude that anything is possible, because the impossible has sure happened to her.
All this is emotionally appealing, unfortunately it has nothing to do with her ability to understand and do anything. But she sure can give a perky speech!

You know, Sarah Palin is not talking ludicrous. Hollywood DOES use Alaska as an example of some 'long forgotten' place where folks actually practice ecological hunting and consume what they kill...as opposed to other places....when in actuality ecological hunting is practiced in every state in the union. SP is easy to poke fun at but lets not pretend these are not valid points.

@sarith21 Umm.... Every history book ever. They weren't against the second amendment specifically, but they were against what the second amendment stands for which is the right to bear arms. All aforementioned dictators took guns away from their people, and then systematically controlled/murdered them.

And they succeeded; Hitler had to be elected democratically. Hitler extended gun-control laws only to prevent Jews (and occupied populations) from having em. You could still register and own a gun in Germany in them days...

I agree with you in that 'bad' people will always get their guns, but I think (as is the case with prostitution) that if something can't be eradicated, the solution is registration and regulation. I have an air rifle too, y'know =)

@sarith21 Do you think it's easier to attempt genocide on a people that have guns? I'm not saying that the holocaust wouldn't have happened, but it would have been much more difficult to facilitate and I guarantee not as many people would have been dragged off.
Registering and regulating guns seems like a good idea, but the only people that will participate are law-abiding citizens, making it that much easier to later find and confiscate the weapons from the only people that would stop tyranny.
