  • Biggest Problem in the business today, TNA and WWE. They're rosters are too bloated for their own good. There is no way to showcase the full depth of talent they have between them. Now if you were to take the main event and midcard of WWE, and the X division, tag teams and Knockouts of TNA with Kharma, Phoenix and Natalya and form a roster with about 35-45 wrestlers. That would be something.

  • Yup That's the Paul HEyman System he just left out Bankrupt company when on top

  • did he writer in tna?????

  • I'd be willing to give Heyman control over everything in my company EXCEPT the Financial part. Hell no. Just look what happened to ECW. That was all Heyman's doing. Heyman is a great booker, but he can't manage finances for shit. To me, it's a win win situation to bring Heyman in, ESPECIALLY since Vince Russo is gone completely from TNA (*cheers*). Thankfully, it's not my decision. I'm just a fan. It's up to Dixie Carter to pull the trigger.

  • I disagree with Heyman chopping off all the 40+ year olds, I mean, a vast majority of those guys are okay to get rid of, but I want to see fucking Daniels remain on the roster. Even then he's over 40, he's the BEST of his age group, IMO.

  • @TSpudProductions Daniels may be over 40, but I imagine Daniels would easily be one of the guys Heyman would keep because of his talent. He wouldn't keep 6+ Legends. I think it goes without saying that he would keep good still relevent talent, but then again who knows.

  • @Heroofclowns Yeah, I really think that Daniels is one of those guys that I really think in Heyman's scheme, could end up as a World Champion to pass the torch to someone like Kazarian and the like.

  • @TSpudProductions

You're forgetting Kurt Angle. Kurt is 43 and is STILL one of the best wrestlers in the world. Kurt can make anyone look good because he's a damn good wrestler. I'm not hating on Daniels because Daniels is still a great wrestler, but Angle is one of those once in a lifetime guys.

  • @AttitudeEra4life459 Angle's one of those exceptions to the rule, but I really think Angle's more of a technical master, while Daniels can pull off a lot of different styles, he's more all-around then Angle. Again, just my opinion. Daniels has all the tools to be a Main Eventer, yet TNA doesn't want to push him over the top.

  • If i was starting a company the two guys i would want to hesd it, are Paul Heyman and Jim cornette. Both of them have the idea that young wrestlers should get the spotlight and use booker's as opposed to writers. It is just to bad they do not get along.

  • I have sumthin 2 say as a real TNA Fan not defendin heymany or Russo but theres more of a Problem in TNA then the old Man getting the spotlight but what happened 2 the Good Gimmick Matches no more Ultimate X or Feast or Fired or even the Cuffed in a Cage TNA really needs a make over and this problem started Before Hogan and Bishoff Takke over

  • YEAH SURE RIGHT CERTAINLY

  • Paul hayman is a genius and tna should hire him ASAP even though I think they are doin ok ATM I must say.....they captor also do with a push for Samoa Joe and angelina love and also re sign petey Williams but they are topics for another day lol

  • vince russo is no longer a head writer.Come ON!!!!!! TAKE THAT SPOT PAUL!!!!!

  • Heyman is so right about having legends on a show TNA did a good job a few years ago when they just had Sting and every now and then Nash and the rest of the roster were guys who could still wrestle in my opinion when TNA started to go downhill was the Main Event Mafia angle they never recovered since

  • I still don't get why wwe didn't just have ECW be tv-14 and allow more violence on the program. the company could have appealed to two very different demographics and rake in a lot of money.

  • @Ironman1o1, what were TNA's numbers before Hogan Bischoff and Russo got there, what good did Cornette bring to that company? Paul Heyman probably wanted too much money and Dixie said "fuck off" and this self-righteous rant is his way of saving face,

  • @Ironman1o1, AJ Styles held every belt in TNA,not just the world title, who gives a fuck about sting or angle. Did you criticize WWE for putting the belt on Hogan at 49 years old?(2002) and when AJ Styles had the belt, Hogan wasn't even in TNA yet if i remember correctly. So don't come at me with all that bulls**t defending Heyman or dissing Russo. Russo pushed the Radicalz in WCW and Booker T, he tried to give the young talent a shot at greatness, but it was too late, way too late.

  • Sure...

  • Man, I wish Heyman would be given 100% creative control (like he asked) and go to TNA.

  • @KevinLockard23 After listening to this interview I 100% agree with you...Heyman with 100% control could definetly turn Impact Wrestling around.

  • No, Paul, don't go to TNA. That place is fucking shit and will ruin your legacy.

  • Paul in TNA would have been pretty cool. I would have given it another try.

  • WWE is PG now, TNA should just do what Vince did back in the day and go Attitude!

  • @CheapJabroni Changing the rating won't do anything if they still can't put on good matches

  • I'll set paulie and all these "Russo, Hogan, Bischoff" haters straight, A.J. Styles had the longest TNA world title reign in company history and Russo was the writer at that time(2009). Besides, anyone who watches TNA knows damn well B.Roode,J.Storm J.Hardy hold down the main events and Samoa Joe is involved in tag team matches and he seems pretty happy in that role, so Heyman is just armchair quarterbacking. Ironically, Russo was demoted anyway so you haters got what you wanted.

  • @MrDust1981 And Kurt and Sting have had 4 times the time with the belt then AJ. They have also held the belt 9 times, to AJ's 1. You also left out when AJ HAD the belt, it was all about the Hogan's Hall of Fame ring.

  • this is why Heyman needs to be in charge of the creative system of TNA rather than Hogan and Bischoff

  • they have no old guys now, hogan, sting & flair never wrestle, foley is gone, the ecw guys are gone

  • He says a lot of the same things as Jim Cornette

  • he cant save tna he lost ecw to wwe only thing thats going to happen is that he will kill tna and wwe would take over

  • I have recently finished watching 'The Rise and Fall of ECW' and I must have watched every youtube video of Paul Heyman that's available! The man's compelling listening and viewing.

  • you simply work new talent with legends and build up the new talent... same winning formula with all pro teams for success...

  • ECW Legends were hard to come by for a reason. They made their legacy in the ECW ring. Guys like Raven, Sandman, Tommy Dreamer, Tazz, RVD and Rhyno made their way in some of the most dangerous matches out there. All for the entertainment of the fans. It was a different animal and not afraid to be edgy or hardcore. Heyman wasn't a promo guy but he was a wrestling guy. ECW always had the better competitors. In my opinion Eric Bischoff and Paul Heyman... together would make the best product ever.

  • Heyman is a great booker, but I would not, would not, WOULD NOT trust him with the financial aspect of my promotion if I had one and was going to hire him.

  • @lawrence142002 Well said. Heyman is a creative genius but moronic businessman.

  • @lawrence142002 I could be wrong but didnt he have a lot of financial problems with ecw?

  • @Carnius797

Yes he did, which was the whole point of my comment. Heyman cannot manage money. He still owes some of the ECW guys back pay. Even when Vince was sending him money, he still couldn't pay the guys... First priority should be to pay the boys what you promised them. His mismanagement of money is enough for me that I would never let him handle any of my funds if I was the promoter.

  • @lawrence142002 Thanks for clearing it up for me. And I agree

  • @lawrence142002 Exactly, that's why his 2002-2003 run as booker in WWE was so good. He handled just the booking, whereas in ECW he tried to handle the money.

  • @lawrence142002 question out of all the people in TNA that are running and thats pratically everyone on top, who would you trust with the financials? Dixie, russo, jarrett, bischoff, dutch etc. Not one of these guys understands money. I mean bischoff bought for 3 million a year bret hart and never used it. TNA has never made money plus heyman only lost money trying to keep stars he won't have that problem as much with TNA.

  • @lawrence142002

I wouldn't trust him to run a bake sale. Vince McMahon was basically funding ECW. Not only that, but ECW is the only company I ever remember that went under despite selling out arenas everywhere they went, getting decent tv ratings and increasing their ppv buys. Paul simply ran it into the ground. Creative genius, but as a business man he was atrocious, and a bit of a con-man who stiffed his employees.

  • @lawrence142002

what i would do is have somebody ELSE handle the money problems

  • @lawrence142002 Well you'll probably never have to worry about being in that position, otherwise you already would be or would be well on your way.

  • @lawrence142002 That is why you do NOT have a company.

  • Comment removed

  • @EdayW

You're right, I don't. But I'm not claiming to be a great businessman, merely pointing out that historically, Heyman wasn't one either.

  • @lawrence142002 I would, you are only believing what you have seen in docs and on TV. He is a great businessman but ECW was not widely accepted and WWF and WCW was already accepted. Around that time, Indy promotions were dying off and becoming unpopular and ECW was only a little more popular than indy.

  • @lawrence142002 i don't think anyone wants him in financial anyways.

  • @lawrence142002 Hes Jewish and therefore would probably know alot more about money than you

  • He hit the nail on the head you can miss three or four weeks of either TNA or WWE now and you haven't missed much.

  • Paul Heyman is stupid. No wonder ECW doesn't exists anymore.

  • WWE & ROH have very youth-orientated rosters so I don't know why TNA doing the same would set them apart. His genius is not much use when his true passion is with MMA and posting pictures of models on Twitter while the wrestling business needs guys like him more than ever. He could walk into WWE or TNA if he wanted to.

  • I agree mostly....Id say you cant DITCH all the legends....but id say most. Id say keep Sting and maybe 2 others, thats it. Id say keep 2 other legends to put over young talent, and id have Sting be the legend with air time.

  • Paul is right, fat birds have pimples and should just fuck off

  • Paul is ABSOLUTELY right, it's really that simple.

  • WTF this was genius! TNA would've been a hell lot more entertaining instead of Hogan running it.

  • @RafealxPhoenix OK I know this is coming out of nowhere, but I used to watch TNA and I still don't know exactly what the x division is, is it cruiser weights, mid-carders, hardcore, or what? Can you tell me what the deal with that shit is?

  • @sleepyredbull It's kind of a mix between Lucha Libre and Cruiserweights. You have smaller wrestlers doing a lot of high flying move but with a more daredevil style. The X division spots are more impressive. Now, they kind of dropped the ball with the X division. I think now everybody can have a shot at it.

  • @Videogamestwin Thanks for clearing that up.

  • Damn, if only Dixie would let him cut all the legends. Very rarely do I watch WWE's Retirement home(TNA)... because when I do its boring crap. But I can guarantee you if Paul took over I'd tune in every thursday to watch his ideas come to life.

  • TNA sucks with Hogan just like it sucked without Hogan. Heyman talks about youth, but the youth suck. There is absolutely no psychology, it seems like the younger guys are not taught how to WRESTLE anymore. I do enjoy Matt Morgan, Magnus, Robert Rood, Crimson, and James Storm, They are the exceptions but as a whole I find the young guys unwatchable. You can bash Hogan and Flair and Sting all you want personally I would rather watch them for nostalgia then a bunch of random spots.

  • Jerry he King Lawler needs to break this guys jaw again, he talks constant shit and is an absolute master at it. Pity he's not as good as he says!!

  • @thgm2 u mad bro?

  • @MysticTaco9 mad about what bro? Making a statement doesn't = mad it was more Jerry the King Lawler broke this guys jaw and he should do it again!!! Lol at getting mad at a youtube vid you funny man!!!

  • @thgm2 lol your right i am funny but the fact of you wasting time to reply to my sarcastic remark makes you more of a clown than me

  • @MysticTaco9 what a lame response!! do you actually believe that shit or are you just trying what you thought was a good response? The biggest clown here is you bro otherwise YOU wouldn't have felt the need to reply and even more make a lame arse effort of it!!! Try harder next time you may actually make a good comment!!!

  • @thgm2 we are both obviously wasting time with this back and forth shit vato so in other words fuck you and have a nice life :)

  • @MysticTaco9 I disagree, I made a comment about the vid and you replied so you are wasting your own time. I find this quite funny so I'm not wasting my time at all, now who's mad bro? lmao!!!

  • this is depressing to listen too

  • Is that why ECW FAILED?

  • @ChrisHill991 nah. WCW and WWE poached all of ECWs good talent and buried them. Vince would do the same now

  • So can we impeach Dixie n bring in Heyman for Prez!? lol

  • This man is a Genius, Heyman for president

  • rebrand them selves as not a kiddie show just for big boys that would make more kids and teens want to watch it. go live every week and move to a larger venue 3 things that would help tna alot have more unpredictable story lines and controversial promos ala cm punk or danial bryan

  • Heyman knows what turns fans to watch wrestling! simple....WRESTLING. thats why ecw was so awesome because it had awesome wrestling matches. TNA need focus more their own product and not try to be like WWE...and they need to fire all old guys who can´t wrestle anymore.

  • @Hordak84 heyman didn't say wrestling once

  • and people say the wrestling business is full of idiots, paul is a business genious

  • Paul PLEASSEEEE TALK TO TNA PLEASSSSSSSEEEEEE! SHOW THEM THESE COMMENTS! SHOW HOW WE ARE BEGGING! PLEASE!

  • some sence finaly and no one can deny the impact hes had in wrestling

  • Paul Heyman is funny!

  • the only thing i have a problem with is i wud have 3 legends working rather than near a whole locker room full personally i wud have foley hogan n jarrett and the only reason i say this is because foley cud be the gm hogan be the man in front of the cameras and jarrett in the creative team along with heyman also wouldnt drop team 3d for about 10 more years so u gt like a road warriors like legendary tag team also i wud pair aj n daniels together again zema ion wud also be a worthy champion

  • fuck you Paul all u wanna do in tna is let all the wrestlers over 40 go come on now u can't tell me u won't bring your old buddies from the shitty company u didn't make any money join sorry your not making tna into ecw like Nash said fuck you u

  • Paul try to talk to TNA again. please!!! WE need you hahaha

  • keep Sting as GM and done

  • absolute genius.

  • Thats bullshit what heyman said, as popular as ECW was, it was losing money because it couldn't market legends

  • ECW was the best organization ever.. It was cool, TNA and WWE are commercial MTV crap

  • classic seedy pedophile look

  • ever since hulk hogen joined TNA i stopped watching as i knew he would fuck TNA right up 2006 personally was TNA's best year where they could of become the best wrestling company out there if given the right choices and such or completely fuck it up which they did and the legend on TNA as heyman would keep angle as he is a LEGAND and he is the man in the ring but we need the youth and the x division as the man focus again

  • Just bringing back the six sides would do them the world of good.

  • Big mistake by TNA to not sign Paul Heyman. He's smart...fans respect him a lot and have faith in him. Hogan and the other ancients are killing TNA and I'm afraid that Vince will die or go senile before WWE can get better (sounds harsh...legit fear). I think with TNAs potential size they can keep at 2 legends though lol

  • Imagine if Paul heyman was Managing Ziggler and swagger in the WWE he would do laot Better than Vickkie is

  • Comment removed

  • @TNAwrestling Abyss With Paul Heyman VS Bully Ray With James Mitchell Monster Ball Coming Soon...

  • wow dixie needs to have someone help her make decisions since paul heyman is the best

  • this right here proves how dum TNA is they rather pay hogan, nash, flair, matt harddy, bishoff jersey shore idiots n a hanful of others tons of money that they dont deserve anymore rather then pay heyman the money he wanted to SAVE THE DAM COMPANY THATS IN THE DAM SHITTER they could not last a month on mondays with wwe heymans right young guns all the way they had it right years ago but they fucked up

  • if tna was smart the company would get paul heyman and let me do what he want to do to the company because i agree with him about everyhing

  • I feel Heyman and Bischoff working together and combining their great minds can give this company a huge lift and a new directions. Heyman on the creative side, Bischoff on the commercial side.

  • Keep Angle, let him be the legend. This man is right, and TNA is in the toilet because of this

  • Thanks Dixie. You'd rather have Hulk Hogan & Eric Bischoffs b.s. and you passed on Paul Heyman's logic. EPIC FAIL. And ultimatley that's what TNA is going to equal even though they're pretty much in the shitter right now.

  • no WHY DID HE NOT JOIN :(

  • Damn, I wish Dixie would just let Heyman do his thing in TNA, it could only do wonders.

  • TNA would be so much better off if they gave Paul E free creative reign to do what he wanted. The company would be more interesting to watch and more succesful.

  • Paul Heyman + SCSA + JR need to run TNA together...... to bad it will never happen -_-

  • Paul, you couldn't keep a lemonade stand in business.

  • Dixie too NICE WOMAN UP

  • tna was modeled of wcw hell they even have there tired old wrestlers.............news flash tna wcw died so will u if u keep this shit up

  • once you notice the "yeahs" and "rights" from the interviewer its hard not to hear them anymore

  • This is truly the most intelligent thing I heard anyone say about wrestling in a long time. This is why Heyman is a mastermind, and why WWE or TNA need him to turn around the awful ratings

  • @Warzone329 In fairness. Considering thier Animosity, both Jim Cornette and Paul Heyman say the same thing about TNA. I think Cornette said they brought in the guys who finished WCW 10 years ago, and they are all 10 years older.

  • Heyman is bang on the money. Lots of people know the TNA roster is far too old for its own good.

  • Is it me or was tna better when jeff jarrett run it

  • Damn..still thinking how good TNA would be if they have Heyman in CT

  • Ridiculous. People may notice the fat girl with pimples, but they still won't want to date her.

  • Heyman's right, AJ Styles should still be the face of TNA. I think TNA is heading in the right direction with having Roode the champ, but Kurt Angle needs to be on a legends contract, and maybe appear at the biggest show to build up a young star. Sting as GM is good, they need to keep it that way

  • biggest scumbag/ liar the wrestling biz has ever seen ecw went bust because he was getting to big for his boots and couldnt match wwe/wcw money wise so why not scale back and preapre for the worst like TNA has done impact zone is alot cheaper than taping on the road and if u havent got the money budget. Tna will never need paul heyman and his plan in the vid is already being used somewhat with the tna orignals being the centre of the show.

  • isnt he working for wwe some what agin ?

  • This man truly is a visionary. He could bring about the revival of wrestling entirely.

  • I think TNA is slowly starting to put what Heyman Says about the legends Sting isn't a wrestler they made a decent angle with him as the "control figure" flair is now gunner's company not a main eventer guys like dreamer and foley are gone altogether angle is training for the olimpics and they got him away from the tna title hogan takes a break from tna and in the title picture/ main events you see jeff hardy styles roode storm etc. There is hope :)

  • @MrVaaran

Yea I agree ever since Bound for Glory they've started pushing the younger guys and I like the direction they've gone in since then its fresh and the guys know how to work hard in the ring.

  • @MrVaaran The thing with TNA is they always take a step forward and 10 backwards. After BFG, it's a good thing they brought AJ Styles back into the title picture along with the talent still in their prime. That's a start. TNA's next focus should be minimizing their overbooked finishes to their main events and illogical storylines. Seriously, James Storm deserved better than his 1-minute title win over Kurt Angle. No buil-up whatsoever. Same thing with Roode's win 2 weeks later.

  • @Mr1131988 shit TNA will be lucky to still be on TV in 3 years...

  • @mnemrod As much as I hate their product, I'm not a WWE fanboy that's gonna wish they die just so my favorite promotion wins. We all badly need an alternative but you're right I don't know how much longer they'll live. But haven't people been saying that about TNA before the end of every year?

  • paul has point.

  • The ironic thing is that TNA tried to do the MEM angle over signing Heyman however Booker and Nash left so they lost both

  • The only one that makes since in all this is Heyman.

  • i wonder why did ECW fall off so hard now. He has good ideas

  • @bdove2007 They lost too much of their top talent. By the end, Rhino was the heavyweight champ. That, and they lost too much money

  • @bdove2007 He was a wrestling guy. Paul Heyman wasnt to well off with the economic portion of the business

  • @bdove2007 They couldn't get a TV deal and the WWE and WCW kept buying up their top talent.

  • @bdove2007 WWF's Attitude era and WCW's NWO era really buried ECW but ECW was still good in it's own right. The popularity of these two promotions was a major factor in bringing down ECW.

  • It's very sad because Heyman speaks the truth with this. I stopped watching TNA circa 2007 because I could see the writing on the wall once Sting was brought back and pushed to main-event status over Jarrett (who should've been on his way out himself). Proof that Heyman is 100% correct with this interview? WCW.

  • I agree with everything he said apart from MCMG, I'm so glad they're not currently wrestling. Impact Wrestling should be about big guys smashing each others apart not skinny guys jumping around. It's gonna turn into a pussy company that way. Aeries and Kash are the only REAL X-divison wrestlers.

  • And when it comes to Wrestling Dixie Carter has about as much vision as Stevie Wonder

  • Paul Heyman is a genius. There's no other way to describe him. His business ethic is no doubt the best in the business.

  • @copyright12222111155 He was trying to compliment Dixie Carter but what he probably wanted to say is when it comes to running a Wrestling Organization She wouldn't know Shit if she fell in it

  • i am certain that tna was once a credible and significant wrestling identity. i am even more certain that this was before flair bitchoff and hogan showed up.

  • @dwiilaster Credible? Certainly, even moreso than WWE at some points. Significant? Unfortunately not.

  • chop ur head off = fired

  • TNA IS THE #1 CO IN THE WORLD YEAH! ;-)

  • i used to hate paul until i knew how creative he was

  • ecw was an indie promotion that got over big because of heyman. they

had ppvs, they had merchandise, they even had a fucking video game (or two).

all because of heyman's ability to market the product as a worthwhile investment.

the fact that u had this small company reach any kind of tv deal during the 90s (when internet was far smaller than it is today) is amazing......heyman was also responsible for smackdown's peak during 2002.

so.....obviously he's got the right vision!

  • Genius of a wrestling marketing and entertainment

  • The most boring thing about the Legends is that every promo they make (specially with another veteran/legend) is that they talk about their past glory things that the new generation cant always get behind :\

  • Biggest criticism of Paul Heyman's plan is that Spike's availability limits TNA's growth. They can't get above a mere 1.5 rating; creating the perception that they CAN go big one day may set the stage for disappointment. What TNA needs is a sustainable model, where they aren't spending money that matches or is greater than the amount they take in.

Given that , I don't know if firing most of the "legends" is worth it. Especially since last year, a lagends centric PPV did 24K buys at BFG.

  • @ExplorerPersonHI Well as he said TNA needs a serious overhaul,Truth be told they are in state of Emergency and Legends are not the answer

  • Paul Heyman and his fanboys are what is wrong with wrestling

  • What the fuc is this guy talking about? Hogan stays off camera, Roode is getting the push as champion and the knockouts get the 2nd biggest push. Flair and Sting appear in limited roles, so that "Dixie is conned by the veterans" routine is old.

  • All of creative in tna HAS TO GO!!"

  • @TNAwrestling Abyss With Paul Heyman VS Bully Ray With James Mitchell Coming Soon...

  • FUCK YOU DIXI!

  • Just let Dangerously run the damn show then we would get Impact to where WWE is

  • Let's go Heyman!

  • TNA needs paul heyman.

  • Heyman is 100% right!!!!

  • Hey Paul, why did you run ECW into the ground?

  • @PanterA1984 he didnt have the money like vince did if he had the money ECW will have been alive

  • why doesn't paul heyman build his own wrestling company ? this guy has a good buisness mind i agreed with what he said....expect i would have kept like 3 legends instead of 1 but that's me

  • @prinzeV Because in the end he would stop paying his guys and run the company into the ground like he did in ECW. He may have a great mind, but near the end, a lot of ECW guys lost their respect for Heyman for fucking them and their families over, then Heyman and Styles shit on the guys who left because they had to go somewhere else with guaranteed money to ensure their families had food in their mouths and a roof over their head. Heyman has a great mind, but he can't run a company for shit.

  • AMEN Paul!

  • Who is Ariel Helwani (sp?)?

  • @AceDagger1 mma reporter

  • Those who say Paul Heyman is "smark-sainted" and overrated r the real flaming faggot smarks. Those cynical enough to say Heyman wasn't that good because ECW went out of business r biased and ignorant idiots 2 c the glass half full. They're too dumb 2 realize that ECW, for a promotion as small as it was, sold out every show they had in smaller venues. For the little resources it had, it existed as long as it did coz they had fans who wanted an alternative.
