  • The 109 who disliked this are men and are wife / partner beaters

  • You deserve what you put up with.

  • @garply101 wth dude!?

  • im fuckin love you

  • This is terrible. Absolutely terrible. I admire Keira for doing this and I think she's the best actress ever!!!!

  • @star4shine100,

This is reality, not movies. Besides what are those arseholes going to do? Will would cry like a little girl while Jack would be drunk off his arse to notice what's going on around him. Grow up and stop watching shit movies.

  • will turner or jack sparrow should come and rescue her

  • I was shocked the first time I watched this. Shocked. Then I watched it again and I cried. It's horrible that people are subjected to this kind of assault, that they can die from it... oh god...

  • I must say, that even though I think these men should be taken outside and shot, these women knew they were marrying impulsive criminals. Just saying.

  • @Dan474834 ~ sadly, we do not know. And by the time the symptoms start showing, we are already completely living with the person and it is a very hard thing to get away from, espeically if you don't want to lose your dogs or your kids, etc. People like the abuser here are usually extremely charming to everyone on the outside, and first start with emotional control of their victim

  • I keep coming back to this. Gives me goosebumps.

  • So sad D: I can't believe the horror of being in a relationship like this...

  • RAPE

  • LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL

  • @h2soccergod,

You have extremely low standards on women. She looks butt ugly, there are way more beautiful women out there in the world.

  • this woman is STUNNING!!!

  • They really presented this ad in a clever way.

"This wasn't in the script" --

Domestic violence isn't in the script. It's not in the role of a wife or girlfriend. No woman signs up for that.

But there's no one to stop it :l

    The set is empty.

Coming from a family where my mom was abused, this ad really hit me hard when we saw it at school.

I wish every family could see it. Then some people know that they need to find a way out immediately, sort of like my mom did.

  • U going for those douchebags !!

doesn't it mean that u love those animals ??

doesn't it mean that u love been hurt ??

Dont answer me . ask ur selfs ....

  • @CertifictJones it wasn't meant to be funny, it was meant to raise awareness

  • I shocked when he hit her after she said ´that wasnt in the script ´

  • am i the only one that felt like beating the living shit out of that guy?

  • @ColdSharpshooter women like to hurt with words more then fists which makes a man sometime go crazy ive seen it

  • @matmanxify if you were a real man you would not hit a woman for her words.

  • @ColdSharpshooter You're actually suggesting that men/boys are the main victims of domestic abuse, purely based on youe experience vs. actual statistics.

  • OMG FUCK THE MALES

  • makes me feel really bad about being a male

  • I never had much respect for keira knightly as an actress - i think she's fairly mediocre - but after seeing this chilling and really effective advert, I definitely think a lot more of her.

  • To this day i don't like crying for me it equals weakness.Telling him about how i used to cut myself was the hardest thing I've ever done because he just didn't understand. I felt ripped apart and broken after telling him. I love him but i don't understand him at all. I've always promised myself that i will never be involved with someone like that and have kids only to have them learn to not cry when someone says something hurtful. No child should have to learn that at all but i know i was lucky

  • It's a shame this was never shown on tv.. I've never been a victom of physical abuse but emotional abuse is just as bad. When i was little my dad would say things in a loud scary voice that made it sound like you were in trouble. He could have been making a simple comment but it was the way he said it. I had to learn to not cry in front of him because that made it worse. He still has a temper like that one minute laughing next minute mad over something stupid

  • I think the acting was pretty good.

  • Shocked me.

  • @RicoHarkwood It didn't shock u. You REACTED to it with shock. Subscribe! :)

  • Not much of an actor, but I bet she fucks like a machine.

  • a movie in a movie.. MOVIECEPTION!!!! sorry i know its a lame joke... THUMBS UP?? : D

  • на 0:34 Кира Гопник

  • Y do people hype Keira up so much!? shes not really very beautiful at all, yes I'll admit shes a pretty gud actress, but thats it. I think I know y she appeals so much to mainstream, think its cus shes actually a rather average looking British woman, who seems to hav made it big in Hollywood. And I guess thats the true appeal, that people r sick of near perfect looking Hollywood Superstars and Keiras come along and proved otherwise lol. Im not insulting her at all, its just way I see it lol.

  • @RaikenXion

Actually, I think the opposite is true. I think she's become a well-known actress precisely because she's extremely good-looking, not because she's a talented actress. She's not a bad actress either, but fairly mediocre. She's a very attractive woman, pretty much standard Hollywood looks.

But that's besides the point. This ad sends a much-needed warning about the dangers of domestic violence and I think Keira does a pretty good job here.

  • @matoushka Well I cant see whats so attractive about her so it must just b me lol, which I dont mind, I hate following a crowd anyway. Ive always thought Ashley Judd is a extremely attractive woman, and has done alot to show attention to domestic violence, and just general violence against women full stop. She emits raw emotion and is a great actress I think, very underrated, cus the mainstream never talks about her.

  • @RaikenXion 'not insulting her' loool, oh yup.

  • @flabrigella Calling Keira Knightley a fairly average woman is not insulting her at all mate. Calling her a ugly bitch, and other such creative words is insulting her. Im just stating my opinion theres nothing wrong with what I commented, just simply making a point. Ofcourse if you dont like what Ive stated you can always vote it down lol.

  • @ColibriAnna08,

Go back to your lesbian orgy you carpet munching slut.

  • @Ruthlessgal,

I'm not a man, I'm a woman. Sucks to be you bitch!

  • This is really hard to watch...

  • If the roles were reversed, if the woman kicked or slapped her man, it would invariably be not tragedy or horror but comedy, or, for some, justice.

Violence is always wrong. Even when it's against men. Even when it's perpetrated by women, hidden by the media, or ignored by authorities.

Oh, and if we defend ourselves? Then we're the abusers. Best to run, and to never get too close. Sad but very true.

  • Brave. They seemed to have "censored" it from British TV... how is that even possible? Censoring the inconvenient truth. Must be that the world is still led by men, and men hate a true image of themselves, which this is, at least of quite a few of them. They didn't understand that the message is more important than their, or anybody's "sensibilities" getting "hurt". If a woman like Keira, an icon, is hurt, it adds to the message the right amount of shock. Never abuse a woman. Until better times.

  • @winehousedrunk Actually, I've seen a drama about a wife who abused a husband, it was really good, and very serious indeed. But I do agree with you, the idea of a woman abusing a man is usually seen as funny... it's like, aww, she's angry, isnt that cute?

  • rihanna is the only woman that asks for it

  • Comment removed

  • Orlando, what happened to you!?

  • Well this certainly puts a different spin on Keira and Joe's working relationship.

  • If only women went looking for the nice guys instead of the ass hole jerks. And when they do finally go for the nice guys, it's too late, because the nice guys were tired of being treated like shit, so they became the bad guys. Women have bad taste.

  • @CPenha It's too bad there are people out there that think like you. It is never the victim's fault, no matter what. Period.

  • KEIRA NOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11111111

  • @mohab18 so obviously you have no idea what the fuck domestic violence is. good to know. now why don't you run along and go back to watching beavis and butthead, while the big boys and girls handle all the serious shit, okay? alrighty then, buh-bye.

no seriously, please don't comment on things you don't understand, it just makes you look really, really stupid.

  • @meenee126

What? I know what domestic violence is, but better yet please enlighten me with your vast knowledge of this topic.

You live in Canada, and I am going to assume since you are butthurt you are probably a female. Domestic violence occurs in the US/CA to those who allow it. because they don't see a better life for themselves. Why should I care? I take care of myself pay my own bills, and school loans. So if they can't help themselves I don''t see why I should toss cash their way.

  • @mohab18 you must understand that your comment was highly offensive, as you're suggesting that those who experience domestic violence are the ones who deserve it for not being in a position to stop it. that's a seriously chauvinistic and outrageous opinion, considering that you (well, all of us really) have been raised alongside women, none of whom deserve that kind of treatment. as for ur money, i couldn't care less about that.

  • @meenee126

Even if I was a physco and mentally fucked, I would never hit a women, or even anyone just because I am in a depressed mental state. Also "Honestly this is what you get for having bad taste in men," was meant for those who stay in relationship with depressed alcoholics who plan on killing themselves, so when they drink they take it out on them(65% of domestic violence). Anyways I would rather donate to the Red-cross or UNICEF those people really need it.

  • @mohab18 Your comment was a little forward, you should probably tone down your views, or at least not express them in such a way. If you think this whole advertising campaign is dumb then turn around and walk the other way, don't try and argue with everyone. Maybe you think its easy to get outta a relationship if the person is abusing you, but what if it was maybe a father? And he was beating you? Could you just walk away then? You gotta understand the implications involved, and not assume stuff

  • @mohab18 do you get how terrible this can be for someone.the money you donate goes to women shelters to help pay for a place for them to stay, food, help them get back on their feet, and keep them from letting the person that did this to them from scaring them back.most women that are in abusive relationships have kids and im sure if a woman could thank you for donating money just so she doesnt live in fear of getting her ass beat she would.so please change your attitude.you could change a life.

  • @mohab18 Walking up and leaving is one of the hardest things to do in an abusive relationship. Abusers keep their power over their victims through a lot of different tactics. Threat of violence (sometimes against children if they are a factor) is common, intense shaming and guilt ("I wouldnt have to do this if you didn't make me"), controlling finances and property, and sometimes the victims own religious or cultural beliefs keep them chained to their abusers.

  • That's just terrible 0: I'm glad she put this out to show the horros of domestic violence. I myself have never been a victim (I'm only 16) but my mother suffered beatings like this when she was pregnant with all 5 of us (the twins died early from a miscarrage.) And I was really shocked to hear that these fuckin critics were complaining about how "graphic" this is. Well that's reality, my friends. It's not right in front of our eyes 24/7. And that's just sick. I can't stand men.

  • @iluvrimmel and this is way toned down compared to what some people go through in domestic violence. It's a shame that people feel they can do this = ( I hope your mother is not with that guy anymore and sees that she is worth sooo much more than that.

  • @weeblawabla

No, she left him a while after I was born. It's a long and sad story behind it all, but I live with her now (: And my brother and sister are on their own. She's remarried to the most amazing guy ever (: But thank you.

  • @iluvrimmel that is soo good to hear = )

  • Dude kicks like a pussy.

  • I wanna know who that actor is so I can brutally hurt him.....jk haha. No one hurts Keira like that!!

  • Beautiful PSA

  • I was a victim to domestic violence with an ex. You can't imagine the horrors when you first date. The verbal abuse comes, and you're scared. Afraid to leave, and the physical abuse begins. You're a prisoner of your own relationship. It took 3 years of public complaints of Domestic Violence before the police stepped in. They came asking for him. I lied, I was scared. They took him, and I got obstruction of justice for lying to the police. But that was the day I was saved.

  • someone killed that man , he kicked Keira!!!!!><

  • @delude101 That's all kinds of disturbing, mate.

  • 2 of my ex girlfriends used to hit me but merely holding her down *meant* I was abusing her! She would also lied about me abusing her...She would pretend to say "Stop! You are hurting me"...like a nursery rhyme! I had a hard time breaking up because both of them would threaten to go to the police with false allegations. There's no shelters that would accept a man! Talk about Sexism!! Women re-enforce this idea that only men abuse! Women use mental as well as physical abuse and are not punished.

  • @luckybozo1 I realize that in your life experience you may have dealt with some mental abuse inflicted by some women in your life, however your comment did disturb me nonetheless. I am ashamed of women who use false claim of domestic abuse to get what they please. I hope you realize that regardless of your negative experiences, please do not become ignorant of the fact that the number of women killed and raped everyday is more than you can keep count of.

  • @seaturtles1 How does a man who is concerned with abuses to men in any way become "ignorant" of same acts done on women?? the statistics DO lie...as I mentioned, it is easy for a woman to lie about rape and abuse and therefore add to the statistics so right away your so called statistics cannot be taken seriously. Let's put it this way..if both genders abuse the same way, women still get help, men do not! That is why I am here helping men who are not getting help.

  • @seaturtles1 ...also, look at the movies, commercials, etc...they are always men who were abused by either men or women. And you would see blood, scream, dying scenes on men and never on women! They would cut out the actual getting beat up part when it comes on women...but when women are hitting men, that's "girl power". Society also think when a woman hitting a man, it would be his fault or he's cheating. This is no statistics, this is real study!

  • @CryptycBau ??????????

  • This is sad as fuck, I don't understand how any guy could ever hit a woman it makes me sick thinking of it.

  • @TS198 There's nothing to understand. It is about the power women get that they know they could simply whisper to the authority and without lifting a finger, the man is ruined for life! You are sick because that's what the actors are making you believe! This is rehearsed and planned. You will never see the woman throwing kitchen knifes, running over a man with her car, hiring a hitman to kill her husband. It is not believable. It is not what you were told and shown that women are not angels.

  • Such a beautiful and chilling advert!

  • if divorce and custody laws we fairer I guarantee that there would be less women killed or beaten

  • @edd77

Yeah well, that the AMAZINg American justice system for you ( Put a woman away for 3 years for trying to sell her newborn for $500 at Taco Bell (true story!) but give a pedophile 2 years probation. It's just all bullshit.

  • @ReddFalcon,

Guess who doesn't know how to spell sandwich?

  • If anyone did ever hurt keira knightley i wouldn't let them get away with it

  • keira is so amazing. but besides that, i wish girls would stand up for themselves, by hitting the man back 2ce as hard or phoning the police. i know what its like and i hit the guy back 10x as hard and started screaming as loud as i can to get peoples attention. he never got away with it. im 18 and that only happend a few months ago.

  • @Sophaayx

"i wish girls would stand up for themselves, by hitting the man"

Every situation is different. You meet the wrong sort of man and fighting back will get you killed. A better default plan would be to scream like hell (as you suggested) and run, preferably to a public place.

A great deal of the problem is of course the codependency that tends to exist between abuser and victim that would tend to rule out even the soundest rational advice.

  • @Sophaayx I kinda agree with you, that you should never let a man hit you, and i am proud of you for defending yourself, BUT you have no idea of what kind of sick people are out there. I am a victim of abuse and when somebody has that many mental problems, selfdefense is a lot harder.

And please remember that abuse is not only hitting or kicking. When somebody starts hittng you with a belt or puts a knife on you throat, there really is not a lot that you can do.

  • @bodiltje i dont mean to sound rude, but i said "i wish". please dont treat me like a child, i know that abuse doesnt just cover hitting and kicking, and i also know about the mental problems because when my boyfriend hit me i didnt leave him for a long while after that because a lot of mental problems i had as a result of being with him. so i although i dont know what its like to have a knife put to my throat i do know alot of other things. i hope that doesnt sound rude.

  • @Sophaayx I'm sorry if my comment came across as bitchy or rude, that was not my intention.

  • That blood looks like sauce.

  • @fortheloveofJB,

    Learn to spell you dick.

  • @Japansepuppy2481,

Please mind your own business. This discussion has nothing to do with you.

  • @sparkly21 Shut up, you pathetic piece of shit.

  • @sparkly21 hahahahah troll..... i think even you know you aren't very smart and/or horribly misguided. did you get mad at @Japanesepuppy2481 because they were smarter than you? and their response and logic made sense?

  • Good advert.

  • Is she not one of the best actresses on the planet, she has the classic moviestar look and is not fake at all.

  • I thought at fist ir said "2 women die from domestic violence every year" that's not alot:O, then i read it again....

  • thuis uis sooo keria

  • keep the cameras rolling guys !

  • :(

  • I'd quit.

  • Basterd was probubly pissed about her not being in Pirates 4, and that's no excuse, you fucking asshole to treat her like dog crap.

  • well that was difficult to watch.

  • That was unpleasant.

But still, I don't get it. Why the pull-back to the empty film studio at the end? What does that signify? Domestic violence has nothing to do with performance, or role-playing, or whatever.

I expect Joe Wright, who directed this (along with Atonement and Hanna) is one of these people who doesn't really have an idea about anything in life beyond the cinema. So an anti-violence advert he directs has to involve the cinema in some way.

    Not cool.

  • @terratrema i think it was more like... it's not scripted so therefore it can't be stopped like she tried to do ... they're helpless

  • @terratrema Misinterpret Win

  • @terratrema i think the concept is that anyone who is abused feels a sense of depersonalization...that means that they feel as though they are watching a movie of their own lives....making the main character's occupation acting ties in the concept beautiful......at the end of the day, when she returns home, she is trying to deny and repress that her life is one of abuse....she looking at the 'camera' asking for a do-over, cuz she is so depersonalized with her own reality...

  • I don't ever want to watch it again. :(...

  • yup i cried again. :(

    anon

  • Last time I saw this it made me cry. Let's see if the same happens this time.

    ANON

  • @Ruthlessgal,

Why are you defending this person? Mind your fucking business please.

  • @sparkly21 Troll

  • @ColibriAnna08,

Get a life please! Defending a feminist commercial isn't getting you anywhere. If they had the roles reversed, would you still be commenting on this page? Or would you be calling out on the man who is getting his arse kicked by a woman?

  • @sparkly21

Call me a sexist thug if you want, but men don't often get serially assaulted by live-in female partners.

That thing you wrote makes absolutely no sense in a literal way, and it doesn't even illuminate anything on a metaphorical level.

    So shut it.

  • I think we forget that a lot of men are also victims of domestic abuse, but that their abuse is somehow lesser than that of women's inflicted by men.

  • i love her. i wonder if she chose the music in the car cuz then i would love her more

  • how will donating money to womensaid save lives?

  • @sparkly21 "dumb bitch""dyke" Well, aren't you well spoken! Insults do not negate a point, dear. They just harm your arguments by ruining the credibility of their source - YOU. As for the sammich remark, men seriously need to get some new damn material. You never fail to pull that one out of your ass when called out on your ignorant sexism. In fact, I know exactly when it's coming most the time. Boring, predictable, AND sexist. Way to go! ;D

  • @sparkly21 umadbro?

  • @sidewinder2132 Troll

  • @AWonderVenus /watch?v=YTR5EVI1TK8

  • Comment removed

  • @sparkly21 well we obviously know for a fact your a male chauvinist pig and currently can not take the fact that you get controlled, physically and emotionally by a specific woman in your life, hence why so much negativity towards females... and the fact she hit a nerve of yours shows with your childish remark ''dyke''.''dumb bitch'' i honestly recommend counselling. but the fact remains your a moron with no back bone so you use the internet i.e youtube to show your brave!

  • @sparkly21 Wow, you're so uneducated you can't even use proper grammar. I assume you have two hands, go make one yourself. You've proven to show intelligence below the average 3 year old. You are a pile of trash, and you need get some self-respect. You can't do anything for yourself and you use YT comments to prove yourself? You are pathetic vile. A narcissistic child on repeating what his abusive guardian tells him. I feel only pity.

  • @sparkly21 Troll

  • "Isn't it time someone called cut?". Someone should never have called action.

  • That first hit, hit me harder and more sudden than a sock full of pennies :(

  • @sparkly21 Troll

  • i thought it was a great advert....keira knightley is awesome imo. shame they cut it. it felt like a horror film when she found the blood on the floor.

  • She would have been fantastic in "Black Swan" instead of Portman.

  • @shimmyhinnah Portman was the best actress possible in this kind of movie , it's just my point of view and i respect yours.

  • Comment removed

  • Strong acting.. I hope advertisments like these do help someone in the this world

  • That's horrible!

  • @69andri73,

Go fuck yourself you carpet muching skank!

  • @sparkly21 ..smooth comeback...

  • @sparkly21 Wooow... what a comeback. I'm simply fascinated by your eloquence.

  • Is that real because I'm a fan and that scared me

  • @yourfireinside,

Women aren't "powerful" or "strong" by pissing off their boyfriends/husbands if they don't want to be beaten they should get out of the relationship or try and work things out without resorting to violence

    @69andri73,

You, my dear, are a fucking feminist. Who's on here being sarcastic??

  • @sparkly21

Not only are you trolling, but you're doing so in a painfully unoriginal and unfunny way. As long as we have you here, perhaps you can lend some insight to the mind of people like you. What do you get out of this?

  • wow.

  • @sparkly21 No matter what a person has done in their life, they do not deserve to beaten. You are not "strong", "dominant", or "masculine" by beating a woman (or anyone else for that matter). You are only proving that your mind is weak, so you resort to violence.

  • @sparkly21 You, my dear, are an idiot ;) Sarcasm isn't always funny

  • @sparkly21 Oh well then... if this is not a sarcasm than you are not an idiot, you are just stupid. And I am not a fucking feminist, I am a feminist (open the dictionary and find the difference between 'feminism' and 'radical feminism')... and you are still stupid.... and that's sad, that's really sad. I feel sorry for your mother. Who is a woman, in case you haven't noticed. Would you like her to be beaten?

  • @sparkly21 Cool story bro.

  • @sparkly21 you are a horribel person you dick

  • @BabyyaaAnabelia767 No you robot bitch

  • @level242 LOL YOU'RE SO FUNNY YOU MAKE JOKES ABOUT ABUSING WOMEN VIOLENTLY INTO SUBSERVIENCE TO GET FOOD AND ANAL YOU MUST BE SUCH A COOL INTELLIGENT ORIGINAL AND EMOTIONALLY DEVELOPED GUY

  • It was a joke.Jesus do you think I actually want some second string actress from Bend It Like Beckham to actually suffer like that? Now shut up,take your clothes off and lay down.

  • Oh my god.

  • Love Keira. You know, she did this for free.

  • Omg..Keira! :o

Well, it hurts me to see her suffering like that, even it is just staged. Oh i get nightmares because of her scream and the stupid violence which you can see very often in such a relationship. This clip is very authentic and expressive! Just a good movie about this matter of reflection. Thumb up!
