they only recommend double clutching because not everyone can float properly.they want to weed out those idiots that jam gears from being able to warranty their trannys. if Eaton/Fuller says double clutch and some dbag that cant drive limps his rig in they can have a valid excuse to not swap it out.
but we all know that in the real world that you float.
Most experienced drivers don't use the clutch after taking off. However, Eaton/Fuller recommends that you double clutch each lever shift. They designed the transmissions. They should know. If the drivers that float the gears had to pay out of pocket for the transmissions they messed up it would be a different story. As for me....I use the clutch. MrDaylow...read the Eaton/Fuller transmission operation manuals online. If u can read that is.
if you need to use the clutch you need to learn how to drive, syncro sves fuel time and parts. you loose both speed and time double clutching. double clutching was meant for direct drives in gassers and double or triple gear box apps.
in driving school is better to used de double clutch 4 sure ....;)
if your working on trafic in town used clutch was probleme clutch & clutch with out clutch better is the same to used clutch pratice with clutch &with out clutch I no tge reality on school need used clutch thank you for you comment merry christmas to you
UMMMM I wonder if this driver realizes that most drivers that didn't graduate truck driving school shift just like that. This bull crap these truck driving schools are teaching about double clutching and always using the clutch is for the birds.
@coolbreeze120 I got my CDL in IL. It was a long time ago but not double clutching when I took the road test would have been an instant failure. I'm not defending the schools but they have one purpose and that is to get the student a CDL. If the States want double clutching that's what the schools will teach. Thankfully I was taught both in school.
@arazu88 Oh yes I fully agree. But there are a lot of drivers I have come across that have drove for years and have no idea you can shift without the clutch. I do understand why they say we should, but to the drivers that are going to learn how to shift without the clutch, DON'T JAM THE GEARS. that's what tears the transmission up. It's ok to rub the gears. I have had people tell me they think is harder to shift without the clutch. Not me. I can't shift worth a crap with the clutch lol
allo thank yopu very much but is more easy whith out cloutch just make sure your rpm good & you are ready ton nerver use again clutch ;) have a nice one thank you again

@coolbreeze120 how come?
just curious it would appear to be easier than without the clutch
what makes it harder?
also do you wish you had an 18 speed?
tnphysics 1 month ago
@tnphysics If you don't match the road speed to the engine speed, it won't go into gear, with or without the clutch.
