  • Oh the memories this music brings back, WOW! If only i could relive that time again, Thinking of you Esker.

  • The Cool Chi-Lites...

  • MARVELOUS!!!

  • SUPER!!

  • GREAT!

  • Lawdy, what happened to real music, real singers, real group dance, and real good times? Just visit the music from yester years and see how much it has fallen off.

  • Music from the heart, emotions set free, from a time when life was better than it is now. Just to go back for a day to relive what was and to escape the now for a little while. Love this song with all my heart.

  • Great music from a better Time

  • Those were the good ole' days

  • without this music, there wouldn't be rap.rap started with Hip-Hop,which started with R&B,which is this type of music.

  • gonzo from the bunk was here

  • i love this song:)

  • Eugene Record died way to early.

  • Ok,I made a poor comment,I said this Is what music Is supposed to sound like and that RAP wasnt music, what I meant to say was ,This Is music at It"s best and RAP is music at It"s worse.

  • @MTD45 But that's your opinion. You really can't determine what's "good" music and what's "bad" music. Don't like hip hop? Don't like rap? That's ok, but it doesn't give you the right to say that hip hop is "bad", because there is no such thing as bad music. I like jazz, hip hop, R&B, rock and classical music though I hate listening to house music. The fact that I don't like house music doesn't make it bad, just not my cup of tea.

  • @icmjazz Ughhhhhhh yea I can say it Rap and Hip Hop is horrible because THEY TALK

LMAO They cant sing so they TALK. Get it now ? And none of them can play a lick of music should it surprise you they cant sing ? LMAO

  • @MTD45 Rap just flat sucks.

  • Flashback!!!

  • ? wots rap? this is class, respect.

  • OHHHH GIRL!!!

  • damn

  • ha! love it!...takes about 4 hrs to get a fish on the line!

  • rappers love to ryhme.....well RAP is CRAP !

  • @SuperWigwambam

don't you rhyme when you sing. dummy!!!!!

  • This is music youngtsters need to really listen to these lyrics!! Stop!! disrespecting these women with bad lyrics and nuture what's precious...

  • n p.s music is an art of sound in time that expresses ideas and emotions in significant forms through the elements of rhythm, melody, harmony, and color.

so that makes rap...music, what there doing to rap is the same thing they did to rock n roll, heavy metal, jazz, the blues and really just singing, That's the devils work. anything new that people can't understand they condone it. i'm just 20 i was raised on rap, oldies, jazz and the rest, i consider them all music because they are TU n peace.

  • Ill just say this once rap is music and its not at the same time, rap is just poets speaking on a beat, the same thing as singers are just singing on a beat. i love all types of music and its funny to me how people condone rap, ya you can say some things about it like its to violent and over sexed or whatever but that not all rap, you have to listen to the real rappers that speak on a message and life, not just how there chains shines.

  • @killinyadreamz Some people will consider rap an art form, which when it started sort of was, By the way of settling an arguement without physical contact. It came from the streets. But the content of the (songs) now are vulgar! The are sexually explicit, they encourage the youger generation to have less respect for women, themselves or anyone else for that matter. I generally like all music as well but very few song out today I would call music. This song has meaning frm the <3

  • @MsAlone4now I get this 100%. I am a white male just married to a white woman and love stuff like Chi Lites! I dated many black ladies and loved two of them, but they were each still somewhat hooked up to abusive former black boyfriends. Rap music is not the cause of the disrespect of women (especially black women, but ALL women...I see Irish red-haired WHITEY blasting this crap too). Good luck and keep listening to beautiful and inspiring music like Chi-Lites.

  • @seymouro I,m a whitey who blasts RAP all day,it's all i listen to mostly and i never disrespect women, they are gods gift to men.You and i can cuss and swear with anyone,it is up to the individual,i agree with you.RAP,is not the disrespect-er of black women/women,,,,,lets leave it at that.

  • @MsAlone4now Rap music was initially a response to ghetto life, which is brutal. I felt as you, but once I listened to the lyrics it opened my eyes. Rap at its birth was vulgar to a fault, but when the artists started adding melodies (i.e. Eminem "I died in your arms tonight" Dr.Dre "Li'l Ghetto Boy" Lil Wayne/Bruno Mars) it changed. Rap began making social statements. Rap is here to stay. "Oh Girl" is Old School, one favorite black genres. I do understand your feelings...but things change.

  • MOST OF U FOLK'S R SAYIN' GREAT THING'S 'BOUT THIS SONG... IF U HAVE A NEGATIVE THING TO SAY ABOUT THIS SONG .... YOUR PROBABLY A FUCKIN' PUNK WHO BELONG'S IN L.A . COUNTY JAIL !!! ... HAVE FUN ASSHOLE ..... THANK'S UPLOADER !!!

  • Folks... Whats amazing to me is that there are only 126 thousand hits on this song. Hell, I think I've listened to it more than that. Really fantastic. Also found a guy in the UK, Paul Young, did a remake and a pretty good job, but nowhere near the Chi Lites.

  • rap singers cant even afford to buy those dresses

  • DAS ANTIGAS SÓ PRA QUEM CONHECE

  • I can spend hours on you tube listening to songs like this. Sheer class that will never be reached by today's artists.

  • 4 people have nothing inside their souls, 955 people + myself are thankful for having one

  • All the people who complain about the clothes...wait til there in their forties or higher and see what their kids say about their pants falling off their back ends.

  • @marytschida De betekenis van die afgezakte broeken komt uit de gevangeniswereld... Als mannen daar 'zin' hadden lieten ze bun broek zakken tot onder de helft van hun reet, zo wisten ze wie er gepakt wou worden...

Translation: The meaning of them pants almost falling off comes from early days when prisoners wore them like that to say they were willing to .......

  • @marytschida amen to that! so ugly!

  • remember this jayne pinnell x

  • beautiful song .

  • they must regret those outfits today lol .... i think there cool anyway

  • One question. Why dont they write songs like this anymore? Am i showing my age? Remember slow dragging?

  • there is noting better that work with this bad ass music

  • Simply classic...These bruthas were so smooth that captivated audiences with silky vocals.

  • Oh so awesome! I remember this song coming across my older brothers clock radio the first time I heard it. Remember it just like it was friggin' yesterday! Thank you so much for rekindling a fond memory.

  • This has always been a favorite of mine, a lot of the music from these days had so much to say.

  • @GuemesBill1 Hey do you remember those old 8-track players that we had back then? i remember the tape woud always get jammed up in the recorder

  • @GuemesBill1 Hey CJ, yeah I remember those 8track day's, seemed like a good idea at the time but didn't know about what was coming in the way of disks. But the up side was all of the great music that was out there and all of those memories and the good times going on back then...when there was good music and great groups and bands.

  • my man in the middle in the back is a slick mah fucka

  • A beautifully performed video, with Eugene and the 'Lites at their absolute best ... just one little item missing here (and also cut-off from 90% of the radio plays) -- his final, desperate words in the last 5 seconds, "... have you ever seen such a helpless man, ohhhhh "

If you haven't had the pleasure, find a version that delivers this little piece of MAGIC !!

Nevertheless, BRAVO !!! Thank YOU !!! Happy Christmas to ALL !!! YES !!!

  • What a great song BG

  • Those afros are great. If I was black I would have a fro.

  • Yeh, this song was everyone's favorite in my seventh grade class 1970. The Chi-lites followed with a string of hits: Have you seen her, etc., but if not mistaken this one was the first to be released.

  • Rent parties/house parties

  • Simply Red remake of this song is simply shit compared to this original version.

  • @maxlimbo007 mmmmm confused.com simply red never done this, they did brand new by stylistics..

  • @bigvoicebigsong OOPS, my bad...his version of THAT song sucks in comparison to the original... I take my soulò black, not blue eyed!

  • This song came out when I was beginning to discover love.

  • KILLER CLASIC!!!

  • I may be white, but when it comes to music, you can't beat the groups, these guys are among the best, not cutting down any of the others, I like them all, starting from the Ink Spots.

  • Smooth. If this song can't get you a woman you are in trouble. Man!!! What a voice.

  • when i was a little girl in the seventies i felt so sorry for this man!!! what did i know then about love....i just wanted somebody to help this poor man i was almost crying..""oh girl pain will double if you leave me now?'' lol its so funny now but memorable..

  • Hey there Lonely Girl, I'll Pick a Rose for my Rose, Homely Girl, It's a Shame and Oh Girl all have happy memories for me. Saw Earth, Wind and Fire and Chi-lites Live and they didn't need any show - just voices. Diana Ross had a different outfit for every song nearly.

  • Meant to say songs today.

  • How can you seduce a girl with the words used in songs. This was seriously a song to sing to the girl you were holding. I feel so sorry for the girls today. We were so lucky.

  • This little gem holds a special place in my heart…it was playing the first time I slow-danced with a boy. He stuck to me like white on rice and I smiled and smiled…'cause it was Very Nice. WhooHoo!

Young'uns these days go on a dance floor, grinding like a sugar mill. That over-stimultion quickly leads to the bed (or any flat surface for that matter) but sadly, the premature physical relationship turns sour real fast! Slow down and Dance Y'all!

  • BEAUTIFUL SONG!!!!!!!!

  • Love love love love LOVE this song. Seeing them live was the highlight of 1975 for me. Fantastic.

  • why do we hate on each other, but love the same music ???

  • the best of music the chie-lities. i like remember good times

  • black music of the 60s 70s early 80s was the coolest music my gen ever had, i'm a 50 yr old white man. this is great compared to the the rap crap everyone does nowadays

  • @reidersx1 not all rap is horrible. there are rappers that have actual messages but the labels & media can't make money off them so they dont make them famous. they instead choose to sign talentless idiots to represent a genre of music as poorly as possible

  • @reidersx1 Mr. 50 year old white man, you need not be quick to judge. Blame the media for not allowing a bigger variety of music to be heard. Some genres aren't of my taste, but I respect them nonetheless and know there's positive and negative in each. It just needs dissection depending on what the individual likes. Be open minded.

  • @reidersx1 AMEN!!!!!!!!!

  • @reidersx1 Your just old...

  • @asi34 Im just kidding I love the oldies, I am 19 and its all I listen too..
