  • Unfortunately, most diabetics have to deal with this and every close friend and family member of a diabetic should know how to do this and where the glucagon emergency kit is stored. This is also why it is so important to have a diabetic tag. We have Nicks diabetic dogtag for my son, plus a cool black strap bracelet with all his medical info in it.

  • Sorry to tell you this, but they better not be giving him an insulin shot if he passed out. My son is Type 1 with a pod. If he passed out, we would have to give him a Glucagon shot, which is glucose. Insulin would probably put him in a diabetic coma or worse. Low blood sugar (too much insulin), would cause him to pass out. Turning off the pump was correct, as you want to stop the insulin until he is stable. Then you get a glucagon shot ready. Not premade.

  • NICK! *crying*
