just a quick tip for anyone who wants to do this, he modeled the rock the hard way. You can just use sculpt mode instead of edit mode.

And people, STOP COMPLAINING! This was '07, and it's not his fault it doesn't work. It's the people who made Blender's fault. If you wanna do it so bad, go out and get the old version of Blender that he used. And I haven't tried it, but you should be able to just have the meteor emit particles that render as the sphere. Should come out the same.

ok so i have the model of the meteorite made and the plane is on top of it, but in the version of blender i have, i have to click ad new in the particle system and once i all the settings are were you tell me to put them, nothing shows up. i have version 2.46 what are you useing?

I fixed that a little but now all the spheares go on top of the ball instead of replacing the particles.
