i have a golden balloon molly and a black molly. The black molly is pregnant by the golden molly. Should I put the female in a bucket or should i let her have the babies then put them in a bucket? I have no money for a new tank! I have a big green bucket and i researched what t6o feed them but I dont know where to put them or what to put them in! Please help!
@DuffyMooCows If you leave them in the tank the male may eat them. So I would actually leave the male in the tank, and see if you can afford a smaller breeder. Costing approx. $5.00 thats the cheapest they make. You dont want to put her in shock in the bucket, but if you do, make sure the water is the same temp. The problem with a bucket, s it's NOT for fish, so if you put her in there, she and her babies could possiably get sick. Try to find something that is made for fish. Good Luck.
I have Two Balloon Bellied Mollies, And they are both males Hobo and Chumly, At the time I really didnt want babies, but now, they have grown to be one of my favorite fish, I think its time i go get some females! Lol. Nice video by the way, they are so cutee(:
I just got a female molly(among other ones as well) just yesterday and she had 13 babies today! We put them in the little baby container in the tank, if that makes sense, so teeny! :)
@stejeda20 mollies, platies, and guppies are all live-bearers (they don't lay eggs they give birth to live fish) and they give birth about every 4 to six weeks although some of mine have given birth as soon as three weeks after they had one litter. You'll know they're pregnant when their stomach gets even larger, and if they are spotted or white you will see a large dark spot in their stomachs... that's the babies! It's called a gravid spot.
The water was crystal clear in the morning, and by the time everone started having their babies, it started getting cloudy. But I'd like ya to know the water is clear again yet their all getting ready to have more babies!!! Thank you for ur comment....
Id put them in the bucket, if you cant leave them in the tank in a breeder.. I had bout me the cheapest breeder for mine.

@foreverspongebob84 it's ok just let her have them and remove all hiding places in the tank, the adults will eat them all for you.
