no not at all the pro treaty free state won the irish civil war 7,000 to 8,000 of the free state's army were former ira volunteers whilst the (anti-treaty) ira with approx 14,000 ira members lost.. the treaty's own superiority in law were all deleted from the Constitution of the Irish Free State in 1932, following the enactment of the statute of westminster the statute removed the ability of the British Parliament to pass laws in ireland meaning the Irish Free State was free to change any laws
