Attractive you keep your autopilot for the speed thing on at 145knots until your 100feet fromvthe runway then turn it off and simply go idle throttle and land
mubibibi .....that is known as the Chase Distance ..........go to the flight controls and see which key ha been assigned to the Chase Distance assignment ..and during the final approach use the key and the autopilot will automatically call...........!!!!!
practice with the 737 more. 747 is a very heavy plane and fsx is pretty realistic for a game. Make sure your speed, vertical speed and pitch are in check.
@danny31235 the thing is if i have a 188knots while im descending for landin i end up on a stall approach :( because, is it because i have too much load? or something how do u calculate what speed you are supose to be going if you have a certain amount of weight?
my approach speed in the 747 is usually like 160 knots and 10 degrees nose up, you can google how to calculate it but i dont think fsx really takes fuel weight into consideration
actually looking at your video, your flare at the end was bad, you pulled back way to much. You should only be pulling the joystick slowly to about halfway.
I added many airplane to my FSX game but when I play they ar not included in air traffic and just have basic standard fsx airplanes a part of traffic, how can I have them as part of air traffic?
I got the FSX Deluxe Edition, and the 747-400 is one of my airplanes. My problem is, my "radar" or "map" is black. I've got det compas, but i can't see any airports, it's all black.
i needed some help!! well wen i am performing the ILS landing in an airbus i can perform properly!! but when i try it in an boeing as soon as i press appoach button the plane starts rising n eventually stalls n crashes!! basically all the hold buttons such as altitude n speed n auto pilot get switched off!
you've activated the ILS too soon. Wait till you are established on the localiser before activating and make sure that you have the correct ILS frequency in Nav 1.
is there any way to make auto the rate of descent for landing on middle marker full automaticly without any manuel interference setting to vs and kias ?
how do u control the speed at approach i always stall because the speed is too low but i tried to approach at 200knots and i stalled for low speed i just cant control the speed the whole flight and i know how to fly
hi, i do many ILS landings but i seem to have a problem with the overland models, they're great but when it comes to ILS i dont like it controlling my altitude, it brings me down onto the grass (default aircraft do this to i think) so is there a file i can delete or a piece of text to delete to disable this effect(ILS controlling alt) Thanks
Instrument Landing System...basically in a nut shell, certain frequency transmits to the pilots the correct glide slope as well as position with regards to the centerline of the runway. they are given a visual reference in the cockpit.
F%*#! dude, when you're landing in bad weather, you have to turn it on to reduce the risk of a real bad landing. yeah, he should of landed manually though.
can someone please tell me how to do the ILS landing ?? i configured everything i put the ils runway on the radio nav1. and when i was at 2700 ft i put approach hold switch on and put it to nav instead of gps. but it does not line me up with the runway.. it only follows the red line from the gps.. and when i approach the runway i go way of course.. can someone tell me ??
I make a flight plan etc. But the ATC is fucked up! All i get offered is flight following, and they never say 'turn heading 025 decend to 3500'etc. but the used to, wot am i doing wrong?????
how come your 747 has that cool rattle effect when you land? Mine doesn't make that sound. And the voice when you approch minimums - mine doesn't do that either. I am using ILS when i land. Any help would be very much appriciated - from anyone!
There's no need to set the course, otheriwse "CRS" when doing ILS. I've done hundreads of ILS by just tunning in the ILS freq without the CRS.
After cleared for approach, turn on NAV to capture the localizer. When you start to see the glideslope appearing after localizer capture, and comfirming that you are below glideslope, switch to APP.
The ATC in FSX is terrible at traffic seperation. If you add in real world AI, that's made worse, especially at larger airports(EGLL, KJFK, KEWR, LFPG, EDDF, etc).
It's also full of errors as well. Once I was told to taxi into position and hold just before clearing me for take off, while at the same time clearing another guy for landing!!
Min didn't flare for me, always gav me a hard landing.. =/ I always disengage AP at 100 feet, 50 feet if there are crosswinds, then do the flaring myself.

You get that if you make a IFR flight plan.
Go to free flight--fligt planner--make a flight--check IFR--select a type of flight (High Alt, Low ALT, Direct GPS, VOR to VOR)--FInd Route--save.
Now you get information of ATC
