Even at the age of 7, I didn't fall for buying this record. I knew I'd think it was stupid. I only remember listening to a flexible record that was included in one issue of the magazine, called "She Got A Nose Job", which didn't impress me.
However - after the passage of nearly 50 years, I know that I'd definitely appreciate "Mad Twists Rock 'n' Roll" today far more than I could have in the early '60s.
The dance is a joke. Mad magazine put this out. It's a joke on all of the whacked out dance songs that were coming out at that time (bop, stroll, twist, watusi, etc). If "The Pretzel" actually caught on people would be dislocating knees and other joints lol
