They might be well under the radar, but flying that low they kick up enough dirt that they would still be spotted miles out.

It amazes me that they can filter the intakes so well and keep that dust out of the engines

I had a crew chief try to explain how the filters work on the black hawk (I figure it's the same with the apache since they have the same engines). It uses centripetal force to separate the materials I think... Someone please correct me
