@MrSpenc3r barbell squats strengthen and thicken the core , where as hack squats, leg press, leg extensions and any machine add size to the legs but not the core. Bodybuilding is about a proportions , a small waist makes everything else look bigger and this also a 6 week program , when the 6 weeks are up you can change your work outs and add free weights , the diversity can actually help you grow , the body responds to change

I personally do a maximal effort minimal volume circuit bodybuilding routine. I weight train 4-5 sessions a week. Why do the typical/traditional one body part per session?! If an individual were to annihilate back on monday; wouldn't be tough to work delts on wed? Also the back's muscle fibers have nearly finished healing by wed-thurs so MAKING THE BACK MUSCLES BE DORMANT FOR 3-4 DAYS IS IRRATIONAL I perform intense brief leg workouts 4x, total back/chest 3x, and delts/tri's/bi's for 2-1x.
You do what works for your body. You might be new at lifting weights which is when you can hit body parts more often, but when you are bigger and have more muscle, you will need longer to recover. I only do one body part a week. I tried doing my chest twice a week once and I wasn't making any gains and I didn't have anywhere near the same power as when I would just do it once a week. Hitting body parts once a week has been around for ages because it works. Back/chest same day.....?
I like to see a former Mr. Olympia being such a friendly and good minded adviser to young athletes-always liked Yates-very likeable. The instructions given are very decent and solid and he is a good motivator for sure. AND I still have not seen better calfes on any bodybuilder since the days of his reign.
When Dorian was training Mark Dugdale at Temple Gym(YT video), he told Mark do not use knee wraps cause they weaken the knee joint & cause grinding. Here, these guys are using wraps so I am not sure what's up with that. King Dorians videos are very informative & inspiring.

I have been doing this blood and guts trainer for a week now.. I rate it highly and don't doubt Yates' knowledge, however I usually experience a large amount of DOMS after legs, but no DOMS after this workout despite pushing myself to the limit and going to failure. Is this an indication that I will not recieve growth from this workout?

Chris doesn't go down all the way on his leg presses, although he does with his hack squats. I am surprised Dorian did not correct him there. He definitely uses too much weight for the leg presses
@Musclegodbrendan1 you dont really need to go super low on leg presses as itss primarily a quad exercise. if you go too low, your lower back will round which is really bad with heavy weight. how far you can go down while keeping your back flat depends on your flexibility. maybe chris just isnt flexible lol
@nataliaa13B I agree with crazykorean about seeing a doctor. However if I had to guess, your doing too much weight. Plus working out on an empty stomach isn't a good idea, its actually shown to be more effective having a meal or a shake 30min. to an hour before you work out. As for the rest of you guys out there talking about how much you lift. Youtube isn't for bragging rights, it just makes you look like a tool and a dumbass. As the great Ronnie and all the other guys say, "Shut up and squat"

dont know if this happens because my stomach is empty or because of the pressure, but just sometimes when i do leg press i feel my guts move... nothing too mayjor but just a bit concerned cuz something may come out of alignment... anyone can relate? or suggest advice?
