when i was looking to buy my first car i was looking for 2000 to 2004 A4 but when i was checking online i came across about 3 sellers who were practically giving them away because they all had problems going into reverse. is this a common problem with those years?

Why would you prefer it over a c300? I have a B7 A4 and am thinking about upgrading to a B8. I test drove one and it is way to big, and not sporty at all. This is why I am thinking about the c300 with a v6. More power over all. Correct?

I recently saw a white Audi A4 S-Line package. 20" wheels, wider body, LED fairy lamps... that car was sex.

The C-Class fits in with other cars too well with pretty conservative styling and the 3 Series isn't the prettiest car in the world by far. I also think Audi makes better interiors.

Plus that 2.0T is a dream to drive with its more than sufficient torque even in Drive and it's so fuel efficient. It's a great car overall, I'm seeing more and more of them on the roads.

Audi A4 is the best, BY FAR best car in the class. I'm 6'4 and I can comfortably fit in the rear seat. If you don't service any car as scheduled, the car will have major problems.

I test drove one of these both in Quattro and FWD and I have to agree totally with the reviewers: the steering does NOT give any confidence at all. It is lighter than my Altima, Maxima, and Lancer. Everything else is SUPERB though: interior comfort, gadgetry, exterior design, the engine's torquey-ness (fuel-economy), and the suspension bump absorption. Buy one if you want a comfortable daily driver!

This is a bad review. There's no less than 4 different suspesion setups for this car - normal, sport, s-line sport and dynamic suspension which can be set to comfort or sport. The fab-gina doesnt have to used :-) there is a keyless option as well.

Car reviews such as the "Everyday Driver" for the most part are purely subjective/relative and not absolute. Their reviews and I'll be honest, make me want to go out and drive these cars for myself. It's like getting a half review. I want to see numbers that truly compare cars and not just something about a Fob-gina. This is why I'd rather read about cars that I'm thinking about and then drive them. We need more details as to why something is bad or good.

Well, We will acknowledge that both the A4 we tested and the 328i are the base-entry level models. If someone stretched to get into them they may be disappointed as they base models don't live up to the hype. We love the S4, like the 335i, and think the M3 is amazing but above the shows price-range.

Our 328i review was before we did our ratings at the end. Both Paul and Todd would rate it higher than the A4.

I think that dynamically, they're on pair. Check out Motortrend's A4 Avant review. It managed some impressive numbers with the base engine. Plus S4 has got better awd system than 3-series.

Buying the 335i would be very unwise when its replacement which is rumoured to be quite revolutionary is coming.

that's because the awd in the 3 series wasn't engineered for the 3 series. it's nicked from the x3, and sold exclusively in the american market because americans have a ludicrous idea that a 4wd system is essential if there's a drop of rain, and makes the handling a million times better...

sure, 4wd can help in the rain, and in some cars, 4wd does make for incredible handling.

but the 335xi has over 300 lbs more weight....

i'd get the 335(rwd)i over the audi s4.

it's cheaper and quicker, as proven by fifth gear. but, i think if i were going to compare the m3 to the s4, i'd get the s4. i think the m3 is too brash and in your face despite being an incredible driver's car.

i like the s4 and 335i's understatement. they can rip your face off with acceleration and cornering forces, but nobody else will be able to tell at first glance.

Fifth Gear only compared 335i to S5 which had older AWD system withough individual torque vectoring. Personally, I'd wait for the next 3 series coming in 2012.
